Hm I downloaded the same font, double clicked the ttf and clicked "Install"
(which I think is equal to putting it in .fonts).

Attached is page 4 with the font installed.
The only issue remaining is that the red text doesn't fit in. But I don't know
how it's supposed to look. Maybe you can upload a PDF file exported from
PowerPoint?

I am not sure how helpful that last comment was. The current status is

- libreoffice renders the presentations in a partly unreadable way currently
(with no warnings etc.)
- You have pointed me to a search engine.

So instead I tried

sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer edubuntu-fonts
ubuntustudio-font-meta ttf-oxygen-font-family ttf-xfree86-nonfree

This still doesn't help.

I then downloaded http://fontsgeek.com/fonts/Arial-Rounded-MT-Bold-Bold (maybe
this is the wrong thing?) and put the ttf into .fonts . This didn't help and
when I open the presentation is I see it is using Calibri.

It's still not at all clear to me how to get libreoffice to render the
presenation correctly in ubuntu.

I still see the problem using linreoffice 4.2.4.2 on ubuntu 14.04. How do I
install the font you mentioned in ubuntu? I tried

sudo apt-get install fonts-ubuntu-title

but that didn't help.

Just to be clear, if I get to the slide titled "Binary search trees = upper
bound" then I see the various overlays on top of each making the slide pretty
much unreadable.

This seems to be fixed in the recent version.
Please make sure that you have the font "Arial rounded MT bold" installed.
Without it the overlapping text problem appears
