** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

When you create a new document LibreOffice Writer and add a footer (Insert
Footer Standard Style) and in the footer add a table (Table Insert
Table) name: Table 1 columns: 1 lines: 2. In the first line write any text on
the second line write any text. Below the table to create a line (Shift + _)
three times and press Enter. Over the line drawn below the table write any
text.
Save the new document LibreOffice Writer (File Save As) name: Sample type:
Microsoft Word 97/2000 / XP / 2003 (.doc). Now opening the document constantly
and fill the document body with any information save close and open again will
notice that the table created in the footer is always misplaced. Even modifying
the properties of the table (table Select and check the option Table Table
Properties on the menu) and adjust the spacing (left: 0in right: 0cm above: 0cm
below: 0cm) happen around the problem

I can comfirm it also happens with just a table in the body and adding text
after it.

1. New Text Document.
2. Table → Insert Table → Default 2x2.
Note:
Table → Table Properties → Table tab shows Alignment as Automatic. I have 2cm
margins, so the table with is 17.00cm.
3. File → Save As → MS Word 97/2000/XP/2003 (.doc) → Confirm File Format → Use
MS Format.
4. Close and reopen document.
Note:
Table → Table Properties → Table tab shows Alignment as Left. Width is still
17.00cm.
5. Type “test” below table.
6. File → Save → Confirm File Format → Use MS Format.
7. Close and reopen document.
Result:
Table → Table Properties → Table tab shows Alignment as Left. Width is now
17.01cm with Spacing Right as -0.01cm.
8. Table → Table Properties → Table tab → set width to 17.00cm and OK.
9. File → Save → Confirm File Format → Use MS Format.
10. Close and reopen document.
Note:
Table → Table Properties → Table tab shows Alignment as Left. Width is still
17.00cm.
11. Type “test” after the first “test”.
12. File → Save → Confirm File Format → Use MS Format.
13. Close and reopen document.
Result:
Table → Table Properties → Table tab shows Alignment as Left. Width is now
17.01cm with Spacing Right as -0.01cm.
