Gavin: It seems it's not a crash here.
Just for having extra info but I don't think they could really help.
Did you install any LO specific extensions?
Did you install any specific fonts?
What's your Java version?
Do you use KDE, Gnome, something else?

Michael: I think we're a little stuck here. Any idea what would automatically
stop LO after some seconds without crash and brand new LO profile?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60306] New: EDITING: CONDITIONAL FORMATTING destroyed after copy-paste cell

2013-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 60306
  Keywords: regression

Summary: EDITING: CONDITIONAL FORMATTING destroyed after

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Created attachment 74218

Test Kit

I have a document containing the same kinds of conditional formatting for cells
with the same Style tempates. When I copy / paste a cell from soure.ods to
target.ods, conditional formatting changes

Steps how to reproduce [Reproducible] with LibO 4.0.0.3 rc - GERMAN UI /
German Locale [Build ID: 7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89)]
{tinderbox: @6, pull time 2013-01-31 11:30(?)} on German WIN7 Home Premium
(64bit) with User Profile updated from 4.0.0.2:

0. Download and unzip test kit
1. Open both documents.
2. In source.ods select row 65 by click on row heading
3. control+c for copy all row
4. In target document click A28
5. control+v for paste
Row contents will become pasted
Expected: I28 with green border (Style EK_Aktuell),
because price info in T28 is young enough
   Actual: Blue Border.

Reason for the damage still is unclear, I observed various damages. sometimes
the formulas became destroyed, Sometimes I saw a wrong conditional Style in the
formula (Berechnet instead of EK_Aktuell), and sometimes I see nothing.

The most often problem seems to be, that the visible style in the cell is a
different one than should be expected (in my normal documents for that
application I most times see Style Ersparnis in affected cells.

Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.0.0.3 rc
Last worked in: 3.6.5.2 release

Can you tell me about this issue?

In your post you describe the problem accurately enough.

As I understand, in LO 4.0 beta problem persists.

Can you give any predictions?

Thanks.

Hi, Victor, I think the video was a nice touch to demonstrate your issue.

If I understand correctly, I think this is maybe more of an enhancement request
and not a bug because the user is able to center the date by selecting Align
Center Horizontally. The user just can't center separate parts of the date on
separate lines within the same cell.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60102] LibreOffice Crash on font preview

2013-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #7 from Kedar Bhise kedarbhise+libreoff...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment 3)
Kedar - please delete your user profile and start with a clean configuration,
report back with your results. Thanks!

Used the guideline at:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

to backup and rename my user profile and start LO 4.0.0.3 with a clean user
profile. No improvement. Crash still persists.

(In reply to comment 4)
Just for the record, I don't reproduce with 4.0 sources updated some days
 ago on pc Debian x86-64
(I copied the font in ~/.fonts then fc-cache -fv)

This is a follow-on from bug 37449. This behaviour is Windows only. Linux users
do not seem to face this problem.

(In reply to comment 5)
Really makes me think it's the environment then if an experienced developer
and an experienced QA member cannot reproduce

Possibly true!

(In reply to comment 6)
Kedar: if you still reproduce the crash even after following Joel's advice,
could you, for the test, try with 3.6.5?

If you don't reproduce it with 3.6.5 it could give some hint
If you reproduce it with 3.6.5, do you know the last LO version when the
preview of this font was ok?

Julien,

Tried with a parallel install of 3.6.5 as given in:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel

No improvement. Crash still persists.

I had installed the font when I had updated to Version 3.6.4.3 (Build ID:
2ef5aff). Thus, I do not have the last LO version when the preview of this font
was ok. Sorry, cannot help here.

From a 'user' perspective it _IS_ a crash! However, as a developer myself, I
appreciate the subtleties - but regardless of terminology, LO-4.0.0RC3 is
essentially unusable.

I'm not using any fonts not included with LO - I think? and I don't recall
loading any special fonts in any context.

It crashes on the previous version of Java (icedtea) as well as the latest

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: b7.10110...@gmail.com

Test file

How to reproduce:
1. Open test file, watch progressbar.
2. See progressbar going from 0% to 100%, then jump back to 0% and again go to
100% and loop several times instead of monotonically increasing percentage as
the file is loaded.

 Yes, looks like

 LibO_3.6.4.3_Win_x86_install_multi.msi (as currently available at
 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/) lacks the npsoplugin.

Fridrich, could it be that that installset was built with --disable-nsplugin
(and a cursory glance at the source code makes it look like Tools -
Options... - Internet - Browser Plug-in would nevertheless be present
 indeed, at least on Windows)?

@Rainer Bielefeld
I am having problems, but not the same as you have described.

The styles remained identical when I tested, but the conditional formatting
condition became broken for cell I28. This is happening because the original
condition:
$Tabelle1.$T22$Tabelle1.$C$10
does not have the row number as absolute(i.e. 22 can vary), but it runs out of
cells when pasted and becomes:
$Tabelle1.$T#REF!$Tabelle1.$C$10

Presumed that it was working on the basis that the condition originated in row
65 and referenced row 22, so it would always try to reference a row 43 higher
than where it is pasted, but that does not seem to be the case either.
When I paste row 65 from the source.ods to row 45 in simpletarget.ods the
condition changes to refer to row 25. This is not 43 rows higher, so I'm not
sure what it is doing.

However:
A. Open source.ods
B. Edit cell I65 to say: =IF(G220,SUM(G65)*H65,).
C. Select row 65.
D. Copy (CTRL+C).
E. Open sampletarget.ods
F. Select row 44.
G. Paste (CTRL+V)
Expected: formula now reads: =IF(G10,SUM(G44)*H44,)
Actual: correct result - this works

On that basis I would expect the conditional formatting condition to change in
the same way, but the conditional formatting condition on cell I65 changes to
say: $Tabelle1.$T23$Tabelle1.$C$10
I'm not sure what logic it used to change the relative reference from cell T22
to cell T23, but it doesn't seem consistent with what happens in steps A-G with
formulae.

Is this the cause of your problem?

Tested using:
Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 28b7359e00fec9fd3bfab3c9105cf250c4320a2)

Problem description: the problem is when i try to remove some borders from
table cells and left some others and save the file as docx, then i open it in
Microsoft office the table will have all borders with lines so I guess the
filter does not store any cell borders (libreoffice does not distinguish
between border apply on cell or apply on table and store as its on table not on

This one is really tricky

I wanted to attach a target document edited with unzipped installation of
LOdev 4.0.0.0.alpha1+ - ENGLISH UI / German Locale [Build ID:
af60316514f3ae3d4c475819bf86f2af837171e)] {tinderbox: Win-x86@6, pull time
2012-11-23 22:10:31} on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with own separate User
Profile.
But that one now shows a wrong CF in Dialog already in the source Cell I65:
Berechnet instead EK_aktuell (although view of cell is EK_aktuell)

So it might be that I observed the same symptoms because of different roots in
the various tests with defferent versions, I will have to recheck later.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60162] EDITING: App crashes when editing cell content

2013-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60162

--- Comment #2 from Fieldman field...@neasi.net ---
1) No I have “Enable access for assistive devices” checked on.
2) Yes I have BetterTouchTool App and USB overdrive installed. USB ovedrive
doesn't affect LO at all. Disabling BetterTouchTool helps! (but it's making me
sad because I use the window snapping feature mostly in LibreOffice.

PS: I have also installed v:4.0.0.2.0.2 and it works without glitches.. (even
with BTT enabled)

(In reply to comment #1)
By seeing accessibility in stracktrace, I wonder if this Roman's (that I
put in cc) comment may help:

 1) Do you have any accesibility features enabled? Apple’s accessibility
features like “VoiceOver” or “Enable access for assistive devices”, which get
enabled in “System Preferences Universal Access”, are known to cause many
crashes and freezes in LibreOffice. So please try to disable any
accesibility features, then check if the problem is still reproducible.

 2) Do you have installed any window management/user interface
 utilities/apps/control panels/extensions for Mac OS X like
* AquaSnap* BetterSnapTool
* BetterTouchTool * Breeze
* Cinch   * Divvy
* DoublePane  * Flexiglass
* HyperDock   * iSnap
* Moom* RightZoom
* ShiftIt * SizeUp
* SizeWell* Spectacle
* Stay* TileWindows
* WindowTidy... or something similar?

And/or do you use any mouse cursor/pointer utility, i.e. some little
application or control panel etc. which animates or replaces etc. the mouse
 curser/pointer, like
* LazyMouse?

And/or do you use any special software which could be related to
accessibility stuff, e.g. a screen reader, screen magnifier, speech
 recognition software,
a text-to-speech (dictation) application, or similar?

All these and many similar utilities rely heavily on Mac OS accessibility
features and therefore can cause LibreOffice to crash or freeze. So please
check if you have installed any utility of this kind and try to disable it
(or to add LibreOffice to the list of excluded applications for the utility,
if there is such a thing).

So please check these possibilities, if any of them helps to make the crash
go away, and report the results here.

Sometimes for reference purposes, one needs to duplicate a paragraph (X) to
paragraph Y, one can easily by copy paste, but in case he/she wants to modify Y
and want that modification (or in that case every modification) to be reflected
in X, he/she will have to copy-paste every time to update.

A feasible solution will be to 'clone' Y to X, that way if one changes X or Y,
both of the paragraphs will be changed.

A cloned paragraph will be specified by a non-printable gray colored border
which can be toggled on or off.

The navigator will have a list of cloned paragraphs.

It stopped again today, so IMHO there's no need to act. Usually, spammers get
blacklisted automatically within a few days, and before we should not act and
manually blacklist, since that creates lots of pain and maintainance work.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57061] Not all personal data imported during install from /3 User Profile

2013-02-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57061

--- Comment #30 from Petr Mladek pmla...@suse.cz ---
I am sorry but this can't be taken as a blocker. Yes, it is annoying that some
setting is lost. Though, it does not affect the functionality of the software.
It is still well usable.

Is it really a blocker when user lost the list of recently used documents or
few 3rd-party extensions that even might need an update to work with the new
release? Are these the most critical problems in this release?

All linux users lost similar level of setting with the switch from LO-3.4 to
LO-3.5 and I am not aware of any strong complains.

BTW: I am very surprised by the sentence:

--- cut ---
If we expect, that something isn't working it should even not be called Beta,
it should be called Alpha or even Daily!
--- cut ---

I am sorry but this is non-realistic. It would mean that we would not be able
to release next few years until we fix all bugs and regressions caused by all
fixes. Note that it would include implementing all missing features for 100%
import/export from/into the supported file formats to avoid any potential data
loss. Unfortunately, the software would be very outdated in compare with the
competitors at this point.

Please, read also https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan#Summary. The
time based release means that .0 release is intended for enthusiasts. It might
include include even annoying bugs.

I am sorry if the above sounded too strong. It was just a reaction on the
previous quite strong comment. I wanted to emphasize that the situation is not
that easy and we have to see it from different point of views :-)

Document where the copywrite symbol in the footer turns into a heart

In a .doc document, I have a copywrite symbol (C) followed by the year. When I
open this document in Writer, the (C) is still there, but when I saved it using
4.0 rc1, it turned into a heart. Cute, but wrong.

Using the character viewer in MacOS X 10.8.2, Writer 4.0, rc3, I chose the (C)
symbol, but I get a heart. This only applies to the footer. I can insert a (C)
symbol in the main document.

The same issue appears when I instead use a .dot template file. I include an
example of the latter.

The Problem is related to the bug described in Bug48463-Filesave as .xls.

I did not see the problem before my updating from Ubuntu (8.04 and Open Office)
to Ubuntu 12.04 and Libre Office.

It seems to me that this is a nasty problem for Ubuntu promotors.

LibreOffice 3.4 or 3.5 (I will check the precise version number.)
