[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105565] Insert "Curves" not available on notebookbar "Insert" item

2017-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105565

--- Comment #2 from Ljiljan  ---
Since there are shapes such as "smile faces", "sun", "cloud", I don't find it
too difficult to add curve and free form line as new items. Specially because
the last two (curve and free form line) are the most basic type of drawings you
need very often (in comparison to "sun" and "cloud" drawings which I didn't use
since its introduction).

In current master (5.4) the dialog is okay. Would be good to get a verification
from someone else. And yes, the dialog should scale well and must not spawn
multiple windows.

When working in LibreOffice Calc with new notebookbar style, in my opinion
people want to select color for cells and to be able to fill other cells with
only one click (not selecting the same color from dropdown color list every
time). This function is available in current Toolbar item, but not in the
Notebookbar.

--- Comment #10 from Volga  ---
I have tested on LibO 5.3.0.2, text box cannot use this direction even if I set
left-to-right (vertical) at the whole page.

1. Open Writer
2. Format -> Page -> Page tab -> Text direction: Left-to-right (vertical)
3. Insert -> Text box & input texts in there
4. Format -> Paragraph -> alignment -> Text direction -> Use superordinate
object settings

Then texts in the text box still horizontal.

I could confirm the background couldn't be changed any more in a button. There
has been a textbox and a button for this in all versions before LO 5.3.0
between "Word break" and "Action". Seems this property has gone on textfields,
formatted fields - I couldn't find it any more at any control, not only
buttons.

By the way: Adding a picture to a button isn't a new feature. Have used this
also in LO 3.x

Confirmed for every form-control with
Version: 5.3.0.2

Layout-Engine: neu;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group

Works in LO 5.2.4.2

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76183] Image cell anchor broken when autowrap text size increase causes row height change

2017-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76183

--- Comment #16 from a  ---

1) on rows above the image : activating 'shrink to fit cell size', and 'wrap
text automatically' (format cells / alignment tab) causes the same problem
every time a row above the image automatically is adjusting its height : the
image (anchored to a cell and position lock) still does not move with its cell
(though the anchor moves with the cell)
-> it would be enough to update the image position according to the anchor,
everytime the height adjusts

2) selecting all the cells of the sheet (top left corner) and 'optimal row'
(value +0.1): this brings the image to the proper position BUT 'shrink to fit
cell size' does not work anylonger (though it is still flagged);
- if i manually increase or reduce the row height : the image moves properly
with its anchor !!
- if i double click on the row low border(margin), and the first time i do this
the image moves properly with the cell, 'shrink to fit cell size' starts
working again (!) but the image does not move anylonger with the cell (when row
height automatically adjust

--- Comment #2 from Katarina Behrens (CIB) ---
I don't consider this to be a bug that needs fixing, not in the form as
specified here.

Double-click on any function that needs more than 2 arguments (some financial
functions work well in this regard, e.g. AMORDEGRC needs 7 arguments) --
suddenly the white space on the right is filled with relevant content and
you'll have hard time fitting it into the size proposed.

So you'd end up forcing users that want to use those function to make 1 extra
step and resize the dialog.

There *are* issues the function wizard e.g. when resized, window size is not
remembered, or the box with text entries for function arguments doesn't expand
etc. But none of those issues happens to be "dialog is too large"

Maybe we talk about different version, need to check again as it looks
acceptable on Windows (while AMORDEGRC still has a lot of free space). But the
resizable flag violates our guidelines. Dialogs must not be resizable.

2017-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77888

--- Comment #4 from Markus Wernig  ---
I cannot reproduce this in 5.2.3.3 on Linux.

The "File->Digital Signatures" dialog opens, regardless of what other dialog is
opened.

After reading a similar ticket regarding Calc we should make Tools > Options...
the general setting that defines if helplines are on by default and View > ...

option non-persistent.

Removing UX, it's a bug IMHO, and NEW.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105610] New: Feature Request: Display found word/ phrase in a constant position on the screen and change highlight colour

2017-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105610

Bug ID: 105610
   Summary: Feature Request: Display found word/phrase in a
constant position on the screen and change highlight
colour
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: francis.bin...@specialeffect.org.uk

Description:
I had posted the problem on Ask LibreOffice here -
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/86163/libreoffice-writer-display-found-wordphrase-in-a-constant-position-on-the-screen-and-change-highlight-colour/

But was told it would be better to file a bug, as an enhancement. This is an
edited version of that post -

I've been working with someone who has very limited sight who describes their
vision as being 'a bit like looking through a keyhole into a smoke filled
room'. Their process for writing is to touch-type a number of paragraphs or
pages, and then, using macOS's built in 'text-to-speech' function, listen back
to whatever they just wrote until they reach a word or phrase they're not happy
with. They then search for said word or phrase using the search function in
LibreOffice Writer, and attempt to edit it.

The problem is that they find it very difficult to locate the searched words on
the screen, as they will be in a different position each time, and the
transparent blue highlighting is not bright enough for them to clearly see. A
solution might be to have an additional window that always appeared at the
center of the document when searched words were found, containing the the words
that were were searched, highlighted in a bright red (for example), with some
context either side (5 words or maybe a sentence each side). I've attatched a
rough diagram of how it might look.

I've looked into developing these features for Writer myself, in the form of an
optioal extension, and while i think it could be doable, it's not an area I
have a lot of knowledge about. Any help is greatly appreciated as this is
hopefully the last step before they can get back to a point where writing isn't
just seriously frustrating.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Search for word(s) using Writer find function (CTRL + F)
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Found word(s) (if any) are highlighted in a light transparent blue, at whatever
point they are positioned on the page.

Expected Results:
Found word(s) (if any) are highlighted in a bright red (or a chosen colour) and
are contained within an editable text window, along with some context either
side (5 words or maybe a sentence each side), that is always positioned at the
center of the document.

Reproducible: Always

We have a general setting under Tools > Options > Calc > View that _hides_ grid
lines for new sheets. And we have View > Grid Lines for Sheet that affects the
current sheet only. It's a perfect WFM.

BTW, in bug 105326 the removal of Tools > Options > Writer > Grid Lines is
requested. Calc and Writer should behave similarly.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105613] New: Unable to convert Excel XML file (XSLT filter) using command line

2017-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105613

Bug ID: 105613
   Summary: Unable to convert Excel XML file (XSLT filter) using
command line
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: bisected
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: filters and storage
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com

Created attachment 130764
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=130764=edit
Test file that fails to be converted if timeout happens

Because of
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/filters/commit/?id=2e9f9d82110342601d28408ae77d63b673993ebe,
in case of timeout >60s during import of a large XML file, an interaction
handler is used to decide if processing should continue or not (see bug 65980
for details about currently wrong wording in user-visible message).

When using --convert-to option, like this:

> soffice --convert-to xlsx 20170130090750.xml

which implies headless mode, there is naturally no warning shown to user, but
processing is unconditionally aborted.

That happens in QuietInteraction::handle(). Currently, the exception class used
in the interaction is css::ucb::InteractiveAugmentedIOException with
InteractionClassification_ERROR and css::ucb::IOErrorCode_GENERAL (see
XSLTFilter::importer()), which cannot be meaningfully processed in
QuietInteraction::handle().

A workaround is to use libxslt's xsltproc (like mentioned in bug 65980 comment
16):

> xsltproc --output output.fods
> /path/to/libreoffice/share/xslt/import/spreadsheetml/spreadsheetml2ooo.xsl
> input.xml

Exporting a selection of a pptx slide in Impress does not work anymore.
A 366KB SVG is created, but both Microsoft Edge and Chrome bring the same error
message: "An unexpected error occurred. The presentation engine will be
stopped".
However, exporting the whole slide still works, it creates a 367KB SVG.

The dialog under "File->Digital Signatures" is not for adding certificates to
the certificate store. It is only for signing a document with existing
certificates. The dialog to select the signing certificate comes after you hit
"Sign Document".

You select the certificate store to use under
"Tools->Options>LibreOffice->Security->Certificate Path" (under Linux this is
either from an existing thunderbird/firefox installation or a newly created
one).

The type of certificate store available is OS-dependent, so it may differ on
Windows and Mac.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105609] New: Python script provider does not reload modified embedded scripts

2017-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105609

Bug ID: 105609
   Summary: Python script provider does not reload modified
embedded scripts
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jeanmarczam...@gmail.com

The python script provider (pythoncript.py) checks if a module needs to be
reloaded by comparing file date-time. This is done using the method
"getDateTimeModified" of service css.ucb.SimpleFileAccess.
But this works only for external scripts : when executed on embedded scripts,
"getDateTimeModified" always returns a null DateTime struct (let's assume this
is not a bug) and therefore these scripts are never reloaded when modified.

For example, with the following instruction :
# sfa = instance of css.ucb.SimpleFileAccess
sfa.copy("/user/pyscript.py",
"vnd.sun.star.tdoc:/1/Scripts/python/pyscript.py")
the embedded pyscript.py is updated and correctly loaded with any *new*
instance of the script provider. However, the provider instance attached to the
document will keep his reference to the first loaded version of the py file
until next reopening. In other words, when an embedded script is bound to some
control or toolbar element and executed once, it will never be reloaded even if
modified.

I'm not totally sure but it seems that, instead of using "getDateTimeModified"
in this particular case, it would be at least possible to rely on the method
"isModified" of the document storage to track changes.
If this is correct, a kind of fix could look like this :

[old code, starting at line 426 of pythonscript.py]
def getModuleByUrl( self, url ):
entry =  self.modules.get(url)
load = True
lastRead = self.sfa.getDateTimeModified( url )
if entry:
if hasChanged( entry.lastRead, lastRead ):
log.debug( "file " + url + " has changed, reloading" )
else:
load = False
if load:
[...]

[new code]
def getModuleByUrl( self, url ):
entry =  self.modules.get(url)
load = True
if entry:
if url.startswith( "file:" ):
lastRead = self.sfa.getDateTimeModified( url )
if hasChanged( entry.lastRead, lastRead ):
log.debug( "file " + url + " has changed, reloading" )
else:
load = False
else:
storage = self.scriptContext.doc.getDocumentStorage()
load = storage.isModified()
storage.commit()
if load:
[...]

Thanks in advance.

That would be the general case and would have some use. But enhancement here
requires new vcl/sfx methods to link the automatic spell check hits on canvas
to a zoom and scroll/pan capability.

This is very specific control of the document canvas we could/should implement
for a11y support.

--- Comment #1 from David Tardon  ---
What's the use case for this? We need to allow to build with system packages on
Linux because distribution packagers want/need it. But there are no
'distributions' for Windows and the official packages have to use bundled
libraries anyway, so this seems just like adding needless complexity... Also
note that we explicitly disallow the use of package managers (and libraries
installed using them) on OS X.

--- Comment #2 from V Stuart Foote  ---
Yes, a very worthy accommodation for accessibility. It would require a zoom to
selection with pan and scroll of document canvas to have edit cursor focus
follow the spell check and grammar hints.

Of course, would be distracting as default. So would probably need to be
toggled active from the Tools -> Options -> Accessibility panel, and probably
should provide setting for the zoom level.

Also, would think providing an ability to set the view to high-contrast or
apply alternate color scheme would provide correct a11y interface to make this
functional.

Other UX input?

Part of my proposal to rework the Navigator is to have a special section for
comments- and likewise search results. This would change a lot.

Right now she has to press ctrl+F to search for "night" (example from dummy
text dt+F3), escape to leave the quick search, enter "day", and search again.
Shouldn't we support the interaction and, for example, put the focus at the
first (highlighted) occurrence allowing direct editing?

Independently, I could imagine that the OS has means to follow the view and to
zoom parts.

2017-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99266

--- Comment #10 from ki_ll  ---
I had the same issue in my v. 5.1.6.2 under Windows 7 64bit.

By initial installation, the proxy settings for the Internet connection in
LibreOffice, dialog Tools-> Internet -> Proxy was empty and the proxy server
configuration type was set default to "System". In my case, the internet
connection is configured in the system by an automatic configuration script. So
when I tried to check LibreOffice for update or try to load a theme, the
connection failed.

After I set the proxy server configuration type to "Manual" and the host & port
correctly, the update worked and the theme selection as well.

Unfortunately the setting back to "System" doesn't work anymore, LibreOffice
ignores it (which may be repated to the bug #33697) - even if I first purge
manually all host and port fields in the dialog, then set the proxy to "System"
and restart LO, the previous proxy settings are restored.

The dalkom project you talk about is already a libreoffice _extension_ -> all
that is needed is that the author (or you, or whoever else interested in it)
builds it for all relevant platforms an uploads it to
https://extensions.libreoffice.org , where people, who need it, can find it.

Btw, there is also https://github.com/mete0r/pyhwp , which also allows to build
an extension (untested by myself).

To summarize: seeing there are already at least two extensions that implement
an import filter for the newer HWP format, I see no compelling reason to add
another filter directly into libreoffice.

I think it would be better if it affected all selected sheets.

--- Comment #2 from Regina Henschel  ---
The feature is already implemented since OpenOffice.org 1.0. Currently you find
it in the collection of animations in the category "Motion Paths". You can
easily change the paths and adapt them to your needs in the point editor.

Therefore I set it to WORKSFORME

I have used Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 5903235d57acb13d9d5286d23b443a01aeab9a3c
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Windows 6.1; UI Render: default;

Unfortunately not. You could use X-forwarding (ssh -X ...) from a machine that
does have X.

Description:
See bugdoc to be attached soonish.

Basically, in doOperation() in canvas/source/cairo/cairo_canvashelper.cxx, in
the Fill case, we need to use an offset in the pattern's transformation matrix
so that the pattern actually ends up inside the path.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103572] Writer freezes when saving file to sleeping NAS

2017-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103572

--- Comment #5 from peter.com...@live.com ---
Hi Timur,

Does not appear to be the same issue as the other issues listed appear to be
incessant network storage access on Macs, or complete system lock-out on Linux.

This is a windows based issue, that although accessing a file across the
network, is not an issue at all unless saving the file, and does not
permanently lock out the machine.

What do you mean by add to see also please???

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105621] New: Start Center: Recent Document Previews should be able to be turned of completely

2017-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105621

Bug ID: 105621
   Summary: Start Center: Recent Document Previews should be able
to be turned of completely
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: p...@gmx.net

When Starting LO or also when closing the last document I can see the
start-center with previews of recent documents shown on the right side.

Unfortunately the previews are so detailed that one can read the content of
documents which I'd prefer to hide.

Nevertheless I still like them to be in the dropdown-list of file menu (where
no preview is shown, which is fine).

So it would be a huge advantage for privacy to be able to turn off the preview
section completely (which is also asked for some times in user's forum -
without solution so far).
