Double-click on any function that needs more than 2 arguments (some financial functions work well in this regard, e.g. AMORDEGRC needs 7 arguments) -- suddenly the white space on the right is filled with relevant content and you'll have hard time fitting it into the size proposed. So you'd end up forcing users that want to use those function to make 1 extra step and resize the dialog. There *are* issues the function wizard e.g. when resized, window size is not remembered, or the box with text entries for function arguments doesn't expand etc. But none of those issues happens to be "dialog is too large" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105610] New: Feature Request: Display found word/ phrase in a constant position on the screen and change highlight colour
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105610 Bug ID: 105610 Summary: Feature Request: Display found word/phrase in a constant position on the screen and change highlight colour Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: francis.bin...@specialeffect.org.uk Description: I had posted the problem on Ask LibreOffice here - https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/86163/libreoffice-writer-display-found-wordphrase-in-a-constant-position-on-the-screen-and-change-highlight-colour/ But was told it would be better to file a bug, as an enhancement. This is an edited version of that post - I've been working with someone who has very limited sight who describes their vision as being 'a bit like looking through a keyhole into a smoke filled room'. Their process for writing is to touch-type a number of paragraphs or pages, and then, using macOS's built in 'text-to-speech' function, listen back to whatever they just wrote until they reach a word or phrase they're not happy with. They then search for said word or phrase using the search function in LibreOffice Writer, and attempt to edit it. The problem is that they find it very difficult to locate the searched words on the screen, as they will be in a different position each time, and the transparent blue highlighting is not bright enough for them to clearly see. A solution might be to have an additional window that always appeared at the center of the document when searched words were found, containing the the words that were were searched, highlighted in a bright red (for example), with some context either side (5 words or maybe a sentence each side). I've attatched a rough diagram of how it might look. I've looked into developing these features for Writer myself, in the form of an optioal extension, and while i think it could be doable, it's not an area I have a lot of knowledge about. Any help is greatly appreciated as this is hopefully the last step before they can get back to a point where writing isn't just seriously frustrating. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Search for word(s) using Writer find function (CTRL + F) 2. 3. Actual Results: Found word(s) (if any) are highlighted in a light transparent blue, at whatever point they are positioned on the page. Expected Results: Found word(s) (if any) are highlighted in a bright red (or a chosen colour) and are contained within an editable text window, along with some context either side (5 words or maybe a sentence each side), that is always positioned at the center of the document. When using --convert-to option, like this: > soffice --convert-to xlsx 20170130090750.xml which implies headless mode, there is naturally no warning shown to user, but processing is unconditionally aborted. That happens in QuietInteraction::handle(). Currently, the exception class used in the interaction is css::ucb::InteractiveAugmentedIOException with InteractionClassification_ERROR and css::ucb::IOErrorCode_GENERAL (see XSLTFilter::importer()), which cannot be meaningfully processed in QuietInteraction::handle(). A workaround is to use libxslt's xsltproc (like mentioned in bug 65980 comment 16): > xsltproc --output output.fods > /path/to/libreoffice/share/xslt/import/spreadsheetml/spreadsheetml2ooo.xsl > input.xml -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105609] New: Python script provider does not reload modified embedded scripts
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105609 Bug ID: 105609 Summary: Python script provider does not reload modified embedded scripts Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jeanmarczam...@gmail.com The python script provider (pythoncript.py) checks if a module needs to be reloaded by comparing file date-time. This is done using the method "getDateTimeModified" of service css.ucb.SimpleFileAccess. But this works only for external scripts : when executed on embedded scripts, "getDateTimeModified" always returns a null DateTime struct (let's assume this is not a bug) and therefore these scripts are never reloaded when modified. For example, with the following instruction : # sfa = instance of css.ucb.SimpleFileAccess sfa.copy("/user/pyscript.py", "vnd.sun.star.tdoc:/1/Scripts/python/pyscript.py") the embedded pyscript.py is updated and correctly loaded with any *new* instance of the script provider. However, the provider instance attached to the document will keep his reference to the first loaded version of the py file until next reopening. In other words, when an embedded script is bound to some control or toolbar element and executed once, it will never be reloaded even if modified. I'm not totally sure but it seems that, instead of using "getDateTimeModified" in this particular case, it would be at least possible to rely on the method "isModified" of the document storage to track changes. If this is correct, a kind of fix could look like this : [old code, starting at line 426 of pythonscript.py] def getModuleByUrl( self, url ): entry = self.modules.get(url) load = True lastRead = self.sfa.getDateTimeModified( url ) if entry: if hasChanged( entry.lastRead, lastRead ): log.debug( "file " + url + " has changed, reloading" ) else: load = False if load: [...] [new code] def getModuleByUrl( self, url ): entry = self.modules.get(url) load = True if entry: if url.startswith( "file:" ): lastRead = self.sfa.getDateTimeModified( url ) if hasChanged( entry.lastRead, lastRead ): log.debug( "file " + url + " has changed, reloading" ) else: load = False else: storage = self.scriptContext.doc.getDocumentStorage() load = storage.isModified() storage.commit() if load: [...] Thanks in advance. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105345 --- Comment #1 from David Tardon--- What's the use case for this? We need to allow to build with system packages on Linux because distribution packagers want/need it. It would require a zoom to selection with pan and scroll of document canvas to have edit cursor focus follow the spell check and grammar hints. Of course, would be distracting as default. So would probably need to be toggled active from the Tools -> Options -> Accessibility panel, and probably should provide setting for the zoom level. Also, would think providing an ability to set the view to high-contrast or apply alternate color scheme would provide correct a11y interface to make this functional. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99266 --- Comment #10 from ki_ll--- I had the same issue in my v. 5.1.6.2 under Windows 7 64bit. By initial installation, the proxy settings for the Internet connection in LibreOffice, dialog Tools-> Internet -> Proxy was empty and the proxy server configuration type was set default to "System". In my case, the internet connection is configured in the system by an automatic configuration script. So when I tried to check LibreOffice for update or try to load a theme, the connection failed. After I set the proxy server configuration type to "Manual" and the host & port correctly, the update worked and the theme selection as well. Unfortunately the setting back to "System" doesn't work anymore, LibreOffice ignores it (which may be repated to the bug #33697) - even if I first purge manually all host and port fields in the dialog, then set the proxy to "System" and restart LO, the previous proxy settings are restored. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
