copy and pasting is such a common feature and being unreliable leads to all
sorts of mistakes when it goes wrong.
It renders the applications totally useless as you spend more time recopying /
checking than you do actually working

Indeed, it apparently is

"tdf#122218: Hack to avoid blurry text with macOS SDK 10.15" which prevents
title bars (among other things) from adapting color to dark mode (at least when
building LO against MacOSX10.15.sdk and running it on macOS 10.15.4).

macOS 10.15.4
LO 6.4.3.2

1. Apple menu > System Preferences > Accessibility > Display
2. Check Increase Contrast
3. Launch LibreOffice
4. Insert > Fields > More fields
5. Click Variables

Confirming → NEW

Currently
This has changed and improved since the original report by Chas. All tabbed
dialog boxes are affected (e.g. Styles > Edit Style or Insert > Fields > More
Fields)

Accessibility with System Preference > Accessibility > Display > Increase
Contrast enabled is worse than with out the option enabled.
Increase Contrast (enabled): Active tab: black font + dark blue background
Increase Contrast (disabled): Active tab: balck font + light blue background

6.0.7.3: Active tab black font on black background, completely disfunctional.
6.4.3.2: Active tab black font on dark blue background, bad accessibility.

Expected
Accessibility should be at least on par with option disabled. It appears as if
the change that is applied is applied in the wrong direction. Instead of
increasing contrast (by making the background color of active tab lighter)
contrast is decreased by making it darker, which defeats the idea behind the
setting.

This is macOS native window management and it works as expected on
macOS 10.15.4
LibreOffice 6.4.3.2
(see screenshot)

Long pressing the green bubble opens the menu where user can select on which
monitor to show the document, left + right half of current monitor, or full
size.

Off-topic: Generally for an efficient workflow I would recommend using a window
manager like BetterTouchTool with keyboard short cuts, where you can move
windows efficiently. Amethyst is a free open source window manager alternative,
it does have a learning curve.

--- Comment #4 from hojp  ---
No, I could not reproduce the bug with a new base file:

1. renaming profile (e.g. new user folder will be created)
2. creating new base file
3. connecting to database with mysql native driver
4. creating a form using the form assistant
- using the tables mentioned before
- including a subform with the mentioned relationship

-> Works fine

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132066] UI: Don't translate the vulkan/raster specifier in about window

2020-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132066

--- Comment #18 from Heiko Tietze  ---
Patch https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/93119 solves the issue partially.
Remaining localized pieces are RID_SVXSTR_ABOUT_UILOCALE ("UI-Language") and
all content after "CPU threads"

#define SV_APP_CPUTHREADSNC_("SV_APP_CPUTHREADS",
"CPU threads: ")
#define SV_APP_OSVERSION NC_("SV_APP_OSVERSION",
"OS: ")
#define SV_APP_UIRENDER  NC_("SV_APP_UIRENDER", "UI
render: ")
#define SV_APP_GLNC_("SV_APP_GL", "GL")
#define SV_APP_SKIA_VULKAN   NC_("SV_APP_SKIA_VULKAN",
"Skia/Vulkan")
#define SV_APP_SKIA_RASTER   NC_("SV_APP_SKIA_RASTER",
"Skia/Raster")
#define SV_APP_DEFAULT   NC_("SV_APP_DEFAULT",
"default")

But I would resolve the ticket as fixed if the patch succeeds CI. Hard to
believe that l10n translates these strings. Otherwise back to discussion.

Ok so if it's specific to this file, would it be possible you attach a script

Or perhaps you could recreate the whole file from scratch and it works now so
no need to investigate?

Julien Nabet committed a patch related to this issue.
It has been pushed to "master":

https://git.libreoffice.org/core/commit/768882d4e9b955ee1b79ad39cb4232789d0d5ee9

Related tdf#111461: add "variant", "lpstr" and "i4" in docprophandler (oox)

It will be available in 7.0.0.

The patch should be included in the daily builds available at
https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/ in the next 24-48 hours. More
information about daily builds can be found at:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Testing_Daily_Builds

Affected users are encouraged to test the fix and report feedback.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48413] : Command line bulk conversion from doc to odf not working

2020-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48413

--- Comment #12 from Jacopo Tedeschi  ---
I can confirm on LibreOffice version 6.4.3.2 (x64) for Windows 10 Pro x64 the
bug is still there. Wildcards should be definitely handled nicely by the
soffice executable in headless mode.

Example of not working command:
"C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\program\soffice.exe" -ArgumentList "--headless
--convert-to pdf *.odt

Workaround: if anyone is in search of a temporary solution, you may use a
powershell or batch script. Here is a simple example Powershell script I wrote
to convert all odt documents inside a folder to pdf:

Get-ChildItem *.odt | Foreach {
  Write-Host "Converting `"$_`" ..."
  Start-Process -Wait -FilePath "C:\Program
Files\LibreOffice\program\soffice.exe" -ArgumentList "--headless --convert-to
pdf `"$_`""
}

You may:
- change "Get-ChildItem *.odt" to your favourite input format. Ex.
"Get-ChildItem *.docx"
- add -Recurse to it if you need to convert files in nested folders. Ex.
"Get-ChildItem *.odt -Recurse"
- change "--convert-to pdf" to your needed output format. Ex. "--convert-to
docx"

Hope this issue gets addressed.
Good luck everyone!

Actually, I don't think any of this should be a warning - just write an info on
unknown element would be fine. Many SVG's have additional elements (Inkscape)
which we won't handle.

For new files this does not seem to be a problem.

For old files your macro solves the problem.

My base file is very old (e.g. has been continuously developed and expanded
since 2004/2005). In the version jumps from 6.0 to 6.4 there seems to be some
incompatibility. What this exactly is and what your macro changes, I do not
understand.

For those who encountered this problem, could you:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132515] New: MYSQL/MariaDB native connector: Unknown Column Type when opening table

2020-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132515

Bug ID: 132515
   Summary: MYSQL/MariaDB native connector: Unknown Column Type
when opening table
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jpho...@sciencebridge.de

When opening a table for viewing (similar when opening a form or query on this
table) the following error is shown:

"Unknown column type when fetching result"

The problem seems to be a column of the type year(4)

MariaDB [projekte]> show columns from rueckfluesse;
++--+--+-+-++
| Field  | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra
|
++--+--+-+-++
| Buchungsjahr   | year(4)  | YES  | | |
|

(LO shows the column definition as TEXT[VARCHAR])

This problem does not occur with LO 6.0.7.3 (same base file and same database).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95385] Sidebar : category General does not exist and inconsistent with cell formatting dialog

2020-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95385

--- Comment #21 from Eike Rathke  ---
To recap and summarise:
The General (or Standard, or ...) seen in the sidebar is the (translated or
not) keyword/code of the General number format, not a UI string or translation,
if there is no specific number format applied (hence format code General). The
problem is that the format code keyword is used as UI "category" name; that
should be decoupled.

One thing is for sure ...

we probably want to prevent that someone creates a spreadsheet with a cell
containing a "=cos(1)", save it with LibreOffice Calc as a .xls, while
LibreOffice Calc has been interpreting the 1 as a degree, but then MS Excel is
interpreting the same 1 as a radius ... ;-)

If that user is a civil engineer, we could get funny bridges. :-D

This actually looks like it might be a problem outside LibreOffice.

I see nothing obvious in the PPD file.
Some more questions:

1) Does printing multiple copies work from other applications?

2) What happens if you try to print 2 copies of a one-sided PDF file from
command line like this (having a PDF file "test.pdf" in the current directory)?

  lp -d EPSON_WF_2660_Series -n 2 test.pdf

3) What happens if you try the same as in 2) with the PDF file generated by
LibreOffice for printing? That one should be in /var/spool/cups/d-001 ?
(In case you have set PostScript to be used as print format in LibreOffice,
this will be a PostScript file.)

I'm not a developer either, just doing some QA work on bugzilla.

>From my experience, while your suggestion is reasonable, it would require a lot
of work and without an interested developer, such discussions are usually
fruitless. Still, you are free to make your argument, either here or as a new
"request for enhancement" bug, but make sure to search the bugzilla to see if

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 35287] feature request: smooth scroll

> We should consider, which option should be made default and what

>
> # Smooth scrolling
> [x] Enable smooth scrolling
> ( ) Always enabled
> (o) Enable smooth scrolling when…
> [x] using a precise scrolling device
> [x] cell does not fit on a single screen
>
> Scroll with scroll wheel by:
> [  3] px
>
> Where precise scrolling device is a touchpad, trackball with scroll modifier
> (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Logitech_Marble_Mouse#Scroll_modifier)
> etc.

Now I think that it would be better to call the current behavior "snap to
cells". In my opinion it should be disabled by default as smooth scrolling just
feels so much more natural. Also, scrolling speed should be handled by OS so
that setting is unnecessary.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131605] Crash in: swlo.dll

2020-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131605

--- Comment #12 from porscholz  ---
After endless further attempts to verify the cause of the crash, I now have
re-installed LO (v6.4.3.2) with a renamed user folder in order to exclude
possible incorrect settings. Transfer of data for example from one record into
the template works without any problem. Even with this default settings, using
my letter template with the TB address book causes the program to crash
(TDF#131605) at the latest when saving the document. Contrary to the screen
message, however, the document is not saved (standstill) and therefore cannot
be restored during restart.

I have a suggestion to use Breese (SVG) theme by default for KDE.
SVG icons looks better.

Pls compare breeze-default and breeze-svg screenshots in the attachment.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132519] New: INDIRECT() to other sheet from Workbook imported from Excel fails with Ref!

2020-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 132519
   Summary: INDIRECT() to other sheet from Workbook imported from
Excel fails with Ref!
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tnet...@gmail.com

If one creates an Excel workbook, e.g. in Excel 2010, and then imports it into
LibreOffice, then create INDIRECT() to reference a cell in another sheet of the
workbook, this causes a #REF! error. If one starts with a fresh LibreOffice
sheet then this bug does not occur.

I just downloaded and installed 6.4.3.2 and tested with password

One question: I am saving in Excel 97-2003 (*.xls) format. Did you test that?
