Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Disquieting Writer bug report -- has anybody ever faced such problems?

2012-08-24 Thread Roman Eisele

Hello all,
especially Caolán, Jochen, Rainer, and Nino (in order of appearance),

thank you very much for your suggestions and ideas for how to handle
this special Writer bug report!

I can’t fulfill all your suggestions at once, but I will try to do my
best and write a polite answer to our angry bug reporter and q
class=doubtfuldeveloper/q.

Cross your fingers that he will not kill me by some voodoo magic, but
that we will get something useful out of this issue, or at least close
it without too many losses ;-)

Thank you again,

Roman

Hi,

yes, good advice, I also use Skype (mainly because of the head set) with
talkyoo_skype for QA Call. Please mention that your talkyoo_skype
Contact has to be confirmed (if I understood everything correctly by
Talkyoo), what might take several hours or even days, so you should add
talkyoo_skype to your contacts early enough for first confirmation by
Talkyoo. After that first confirmation talkyoo_skype can be used
without further formalities.

My Preferred Hard hack candidates: Please see attached Spreadsheet (with
descending priority, precedented mainly number of CC (showing big
interest). You find the Query link in the spreadshhet above the bugs.

Hi all,

It would be great if someone with more experience than me would try
Norbert's repository. Do we have a user who knows Linux + Win and
already did some bibisecting, so that he can assist interested WIN users?

I will try at QA weekend.

[Libreoffice-qa] [ANN] LibreOffice 3.6.1 RC2 test builds available for smoketesting

2012-08-24 Thread Thorsten Behrens
Hi *,

for 3.6.1 RC2, we're now uploading builds to a public (but
non-mirrored - so don't spread news too widely!) place, as soon as
they're available. Grab them here:

 http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/

If you've a bit of time, please give them a try report *critical*
bugs not yet in bugzilla here, so we can incorporate them into the
release notes. Please note that it takes approximately 24 hours to
populate the mirrors, so that's about the time we have to collect
feedback.

The list of fixed bugs vs. 3.6.1 RC1 is available here

http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/src/bugfixes-libreoffice-3-6-1-release-3.6.1.2.log

, it would be nice to verify they're really fixed in the build.

Thanks a lot for your help,

-- Thorsten

[Libreoffice-qa] Announcing LibreOffice HardHacks!

2012-08-24 Thread Rainer Bielefeld

Hi all,

and here is the list of bugs we selected during QA Call from a long list:

ID OS Component - Summary

38913 Linux Libreoffice - CRASH when loading Danish dictionary at
startup citing msvcr90.dll after upgrade
32948 Linux Libreoffice/Database(?) - Address Book Data Source
Wizard fails with message No SDBC driver was found
34548 All Presentation - EDITING: CRASH in action after Undo
36681 All Writer - EDITING: after insert/removal of a picture (or
alike) view scrolls to begin/end of document
33302 Mac Libreoffice - FILEOPEN/EDITING RTL text: parentheses and
brackets (...) [...] inverted to )...( ]...[
with some fonts

Our additional criteria for long pending Most Annoying Bugs were:

- Large public interest (many users in CC)
- The list should not prefer a particular Operating System
- Bugs should be divided to several developers so that not a single one
has to do all additional work
- Good triaged, all preconditions for developer to start bugfixing are
in the bug report and comments (I hope our rating is correct)
- a realistic chance that it will be possible to fix the bug within 2
  Weeks

It would be great if developers could take care on these bugs. For
questions please ping me, all further discussion should be in next ESC
Call 2012-08-30

Some other candidates still need some additional research and might
appear on the next selection list

Best regards

[Libreoffice-qa] NEEDINFO Status

2012-08-24 Thread Joel Madero
Hi All,

More input on this morning's conversation. Maybe an idea would be that when
we actually put a bug into NEEDINFO status we put a comment that has a
small blurb on our procedure. Something like we have put this bug in
NEEDINFO status because we need you to provide.we will leave the bug in
this status for 6 months at which time we'll close the bug as INVALID. If
your bug is closed as INVALID after 6 months and you still experience it,
please attach needed information and reopen the bug as UNCONFIRMED.

Just a thought.

Best Regards,
Joel

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] tester wanted: Base and Access

Hi Jochen,

Jochen schrieb:

Hi,

The bugreport refers to Base concerning editing Access-files (Access

Who can help?

[1] https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43187

I had made some tests in Sept.2007
http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Connecting_to_Microsoft_Access
There I found, that ADO gives only read access to the table, you need to
setup an ODBC connection.

I don't know, whether Access 2007 uses ADO and whether it is intended
to give write access to the tables. A quick test with LO 3.6 using type
Access 2007 results in missing SDBC driver. So the database could
not be opened at all. A connection with ODBC works in LO 3.6 and the
tables are writeable.

Kind regards
Regina

[Libreoffice-qa] New Triage Page (In Progress)

2012-08-24 Thread Joel Madero
This is only in the first phase but I'm aiming to make the triage page more
complete, easy to read, and have all the information (at least linked) to
effectively triage. Here is the link, feel free to comment, check it out
every once in awhile as I'm trying to do updates somewhat regularly:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugTriage_InProgress

Of course if you want to help go ahead an edit it but I would like it to be
organized well and be pretty uniform where possible.

Best Regards, hope everyone has a great weekend
