[Libreoffice-qa] Daily builds for LO 7.5 aren't available

2023-01-11 Thread Robert Großkopf

Hi *,

have a look at
https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/
there is no daily build for LO 7.5 available. Master is LO 7.6. So I
couldn't test, if bugs have been gone after

Version: 7.5.0.0.beta1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
has been published.

Doesn't know what it is. But when I looked at the duplicate of this
bug, reported by Julien, I installed new without the KDE-package. Now
LO starts without any problems.

[Libreoffice-qa] LO Master (5.3 alpha1, 2016-11-02) doesn't start

2016-11-02 Thread Robert Großkopf

Hi *,

don't know, if I should report a bug for this, because it could have
been changed tomorrow.
I have downloaded the LO Master 5.3 alpha1 from 2016-11-02 for 64bit
rpm Linux. Installed it the same way as all the earlier masters.
Deleted the personal configfolder, so it would be created new.

LO of this master started, created the folder and then it stopped. On
console I could only see the process has been ended after some seconds.

Should I report a bug or better wait a few days for a new master?

You have set yourself in cc for many Base-bugs. So you got over 200
mails. I have got about 90 - many bugs I have reported myself. Much
too much to react in a short time. Don'z know if there is anybody who
thinks: "Bus will have been gone without recognizing why and nobody
has noticed it".

I will answer to this "spam" in the next 4 weeks - day by day a little
bit.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] [Bugzilla] images attached to bugs do not open inside FF any longer

2015-01-25 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hi Thomas,

When I try to open an screenshot in our own BZ instance, FF asks me
either to open it with an external program or to save it to disk.
With FDO's BZ they opened within the browser itself. Is this
 intended?

 Steps to reproduce:
 1. Go to e.g.
 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60557
 2. click on one of the attached jpegs (for example
 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=74503)

On my system (Debian Testing i686 w/ KDE 4.14.2, Firefox 36.0), FF
asks me, if I either want to save it or to choose a program to open
 it ... :(

Have just tried it. Opened with Firefox within the browser.
My Cconfiguration: Firefox 35.0, OpenSUSE 13.2 64bit rpm Linux.

Opening a file inside a browser is a configration of your browser. Don't
know if this would be possible for a website to say: No, the browser
shouldn't open this file. It must be downloaded.

Hi Bjoern,

True. In the end a fully triaged (aka a bug that a QA guys can do nothing more
about and that only can be moved forward by a developer) is either:

1/ a regression, which has been bibisected
 2/ a non-regression, missing feature (enhancement)
3/ a non-regression, bug introduced with new feature from the start

How would you call a bug inherited from OOo?

I think that depends on how you start.
When you start from https://bugs.freedesktop.org/query.cgi and select
new at the top and then Libreoffice, it will be UNCONFIRMED

When you start from the link File a new bug in the LibreOffice
 product

 available after running a query...

That's it. Most times I run a query for see all open bugs of Base - then
I start from the query with File new ...

Have you tested it with LO 4.2.7.1? I have downloaded the attached
database of bug 72696. Have tested it with LO 4.2.7.1. Works as expected.

The bug has been fixed since version LO 4.2.0.4 here. Could only

Hi Dan,

The mysql native connectors I uploaded earlier were both 32 bit. I apologize
for that. The way Nabble names uploaded files were somewhat confusing to me,
 so I will try again.

 32 bit mysql native connector:

 mysql-connector-x86.oxt
 http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/file/n4124504/mysql-connector-x86.oxt

 64 bit mysql native connector:

 mysql-connector-x86_64.oxt
 http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/file/n4124504/mysql-connector-x86_64.oxt

Seems it is working now - better like expected.
→ I see all databases from my MariaDB - not only the database the file
is created for. Good for working whith more than one database.
→ Input of time give the right value.

Don't know where the files should be linked to:
http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/mysql-native-connector
is linked to the old linux-extensions.

http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/mysql-native-connector-for-libreoffice-4.x/releases/1.0.2
is linked to the windows-extension.

A little bit confusion. Why aren't the different connectors at the same
place. Not long ago there was a third place for a connector for Mac -
couldn't find this connector any more ...

Have tried to install this connector with OpenSUSE 64bit rpm Linux to

Older connectors I could install, but they don't work right with Time-

[Libreoffice-qa] Help needed for a Base-Bug with Win7/MySQL

2014-09-02 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hi *,

there is a bug reported for Base with Windows 7 and MySQL. Crash of the
whole LO when editing a form and moving from the properties of a column
of one tablecontrol of a form to another tablecontrol:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82774

I have tried all I am table to try and couldn't reproduce. Could be I
couldn't reproduce because I have only OpenSUSE 64bit rmp here. So we
need someone with Windows7 and MySQL, who could test.
There is a sql-dumpfile and and a databasefile as attachment.

 discovered the following:

 1. Start LO
 2. Go to Tools – Options, then LibreOfficeDev – Paths

On my system, all of the different type of directories (AutoCorrect,

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Inserting an image from an URL removes page break in LO 4.1.5.3?

2014-04-06 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hi Thomas,

can't confirm. Have copied the picture, pasted it, created a pagebreak
and pasted it again. The second picture is on page 2.

Difference between LO 4.1.5.3 and LO 4.2.3.3:
LO 4.1.5.3 shows the picture from the left margin (2cm) over the right
margin up to the side edge. The picture has a width of 19cm
LO 4.2.3.3 shows the picture with a width of 17cm, limited bei both margins.

There seem to be some problems to recognize, that there is a picture
copied. First I couldn't copy the picture from the link of the
bugreport. So I copied the picture directly from wikipedia.

My system: OpenSUSE 12.3 64bit rpm Linux.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] What should we do with a bug with a longer summary, but without any description?

2014-04-06 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hello Thomas,

 I found bug #76017
 (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76017), which only has
a summary (Two finger touch pad scrolling in the horizontal axis is
in the wrong direction) but no text for any instruction, which HW
was used or anything else ... :( How do others handle this kind of
 bug?

First I would write a little comment: Please describe the bug. Is the
bug happening only in LO?

If there is no reaction I would close the bug as invalid.

I dont know anything about Two finger touch pad scrolling - don't use
a touchpad.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] screeshot in FDO-bugzilla

2014-02-02 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hi Gabriel,

LOT of bugs have an attached screenshot as text/plain, although the
 user has
clearly uploaded apicture (jpg or png, whatever).
In the screenshot upload form there is this drop-down box tochange the
 type of
file uploaded. Apparently the poster leaves the content type to
 auto-detect,
 which.. does NOT auto-detect!

Autodetect seems only to work when you don't add the attachment directly
when you report a bug. In that form you couldn't chose the type of
content. So you have to chose it after reporting the bug.

Have forgotten it also sometimes ...

[Libreoffice-qa] Bugs with loosing format of paragraphs in Writer

2014-01-10 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hi *,

don't know, if this is a feature or (more than one) bug.
I'm writing for the German Base-documentation. I tried to reset some
direct formatted paragraphs. The following appeared:

1. If I have added bullets or numbering to a paragraph and clear the
direct formatting, the format of the paragraph is set to Default Style
after reopening the file - couldn't be seen directly.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73411

2. If I have added a manual pagebreak to a paragraph. I cleared the
direct formatting. The pagebreak will be lost and the paragraph will be
set to Default Style after reopening.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73483

Could be there are some more features like this. The features above
are inherited from OOo - I could see this behavior with LO 3.3.0beta1
and LO 4.2.0.rc2.

How could I reset direct formatting without destroying the whole document?

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Base: Greyed-out icons in document preview on Tables

2013-12-22 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hello Thomas,

have tested a little bit more with this icons. I wanted to make a
screenshot, so I switched the width of the window. There appear the
whole content of the icons of the table. You could search and filter for
fields with the icons, but couldnt input values. Also there is no cursor
to see - for sorting and filtering you have to remember on which field
you pointed klicked with the mouse the last time.

If I open the table for editing and then close the table only the greyed
out icons appear again at the wrong position.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Firebird - creating auto-increment fails via Tools - SQL

2013-12-15 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hi Alex,

the code works for external Firebird. For internal Firebird we have to
wait if the bug is fixed. Then the user has nothing to do with the code
- only to set AutoValue while creating the table.

This isn't the only thing which works in the external Firebird and
doesn't work in the internal. There are also queries, which doesn't work
and shows the
caused by 'isc_dsql_prepare'
fail.
So the internal Firebird works only, when you set Enable experimental
features. At this moment the old HSQLDB would work much better as the
internal Firebird. But the external Firebird has some functionality much
people miss in HSQLDB (DATEADD, LIST ...). So I hope the bugs will be
solved for the next release ol LO 4.2.0 ...

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Base Show stopper in LibreOffice 4.2 Beta2

2013-12-14 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hello Dan,

I just filed a bug, but I was not given a number for it. I have a
database three tables that are related. Table A has a foreign key linked
to the primary key of Table B. Table B has a foreign key linked to the
primary key of Table C. I created a form containing these three tables
and added data to it. Normally, when you change the visible record of
Table B, the visible records for Table A should also change. They do
 when using 4.1.4.1, but for 4.2 Beta2, they don't.

I have reproduced the bug. Could you change the database a little bit?
The form doesen't show the content in the subform, because Add Data
only is set to Yes. When you change it to No everybody has to open
the form only to see the difference between different LO-Versions.
Moving through the rows of the mainform doesn't change the content in
the subform. Appears only with LO 4.2.0.0beta2, not with LO 4.2.0.0beta1.

Hello Thomas,

 language?

It could be the color is a combination with the windowmaker you use.
Here the background is in white color.

I have opened your document and see, when the grammatical correction
will come at
« Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and GNU/Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora,
Mandriva, Suse, ...). »
Extra space before the period?
with a white background directly under Textlanguage - the language is
greyed out at this moment.

I see this with a UI German - isn't translated.

I have tested with LO 4.1.3.2 and German langpack under OpenSUSE 12.3
64bit rpm.

Original OpenSUSE LO 4.1.1.2 shows the message with a black background

(https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33617#c33) and this bug
could be fixed by Lionel. Not every bug, which appears in LO 3.3.0 beta2
is automatically inherited from OOo. Every bug, which apperars first in
3.3.0 beta1 could be changed to Inherited from OOo, because we
couldn't test changes of the code before.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Start Center in Master

2013-08-18 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hello Florian,

I just downloaded the latest Win master (Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: bc42d992439de77b0e60a8435b2a134d886f0f76) and was quite
shocked, as I opened the Start Center see [1].

It's a joke, isn't it?

I remember we had a great discussion when the start-center had been
introduced in OpenOffice. Now the next great discussion. Don't know why.
There are enough bugs inside the office - so let's try to polish the image?

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Report Builder Bug #68190

2013-08-16 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hello Dan,

I have just filed this bug about a property for header, Detail,
and footer sections of the Report Builder. The problem is with the
*Force New Page* property. This sets the page breaks for a report. For
LibreOffice 4.1.0.4, the names used in this property do not match where
 the page breaks appear.

This bugreport is a duplicate of
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67109

So I have to close the bug as duplicate.

I have added Lionel to CC of the bug. I hope he could help ...

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Base: Properties in Fields of a Form chaotically sorted

2013-07-28 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hi Mas,

 Hello *,

could be someone have a look at

 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67430

The whole properties are sorted in a new way - or should I better say
the old sorting of the properties is destroyed. I don't know if this
should be a feature or a bug.
When I will create forms I now have to search many time to find the
property in the dialog. First I thought there had been added properties ...

 Regards

 Robert

I took a look at your bug ticket. The properties list is in alphabetical
order , this is not a bug

That's wrong. I have answered in the bug-report and will do it here for
all other again:

I don't know, what you mean with alphabetical order:
Nearly at the top of the list I see Visible. Anchor is nearly at the
bottom.

There is no order in English.

OK, my Desktop runs under German language. Lets see:
Second entrance is Hintergrundfarbe. Last entrance is Breite.

There isn't any visible order in this properties. An alphabethical order
wouldn't work, when there is no function, which sorts the properties in
the right way of different languages.

There is an attachment to the report - it shows no alphabetical order.

I have reopened the bug-report.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Base: Properties in Fields of a Form chaotically sorted

2013-07-28 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hi Mas,

I viewed your attachment again . The screen shot was presented in
English and if you notice under the general tab. The list goes from
A-Z -- alignment being the first and background color being next.
This is called alphabetical order from A-Z

I checked under releases 4.1.03 and 4.1.04 Window and Linux. They are
 setup the same way.

see attached from my version , We can possibly file this under a feature
 request instead of a bug

Your attachment doesn't show the whole field-properties of a form in
base I presented. I'm not interested into a long discussion and writing
down all the properties here. But I have written the part you have attached:

1 Alignment
2 Background color
3 Border
4 Border color
5 Default text
6 Password character
7 Visible
8 Enabled
9 Font
10 Height
11 Help Text
12 Hide selection
13 Label Field
14 Text lines end with
15 Max. text length

That is the order of your screenshot. I put it into Calc and let it
order in alphabethical form:

1 Alignment
2 Background color
3 Border
4 Border color
5 Default text
8 Enabled
9 Font
10 Height
11 Help Text
12 Hide selection
13 Label Field
15 Max. text length
6 Password character
14 Text lines end with
7 Visible

That is the alphabethical order of Calc. The first five fields are
ordered alphabethical. So please don't close a bug with the argument the
order is alphabetical, if it isn't. Say it is chaotically and I love
chaotically LO - and if many people of this list will aggree it might be
OK (for alle the people, who loves chaos, not for people, who will work
with software). Then I wouldn't open the bug again and will leave this
projekt.
Alphabetical order isn't an argument. The changing of the order by
groups (Anchor together with Height and Width and Positionx and
PositionY for example) to no order is a regression in usability. I think
nobody has changed this behavior from LO 4.0 to LO 4.1 with this
intention. There has been changed something at another point and nobody
noticed, that this would change the usability of the editing of form-fields.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Reported issues show the tendency to be more user questions ? BSA related ?

2013-07-01 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hi Cor,

Is the process from our French friends - where reports from BSA go
trough an email process before being added to BugZilla (that's what I
understood from it anyway) - a way to prevent that?

Better we get all the reports we need than not so much reports and a
more buggy LO.
I could only write about the Base-bugs. User-questions in this part of
LO could be answered in a short time (about 2 or 3 days), because there
are only 240 bugs open and we have a look at the bug-list nearly every
day if there is reported something new.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Saving a report in Base seems to save in /

2013-06-22 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hello Thomas,

while I was trying to confirm #65047
 (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65047) I opened a Base
file, clicked on Create Report in Design View..., chose two fields
from Add fields: Table, and clicked on the save symbol in Toolbar
Standard. In the following window Save there is a slash (/)
below the title bar, so LO seems to save to / ... :(

Is this intended or a bug?

The slash appears since LO 3.3.4. It means, that everythin you will
save, will be saved directly in the database under reports. You could
also define subfolders there. Then there would be shown a foldername and
a slash.
You couldn't save reports outside of a database-document.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] minutes of ESC call ...

2013-04-19 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hello *,

  2) ListBox has the wrong notion of current value. Change it to
the right one incompatibly? Add a new current *bound* value
notion to stay compatible, but make the interesting thing
  accessible in some way?
+ has two lists of key/values pairs.
+ with a one-to-one mapping between the two,
+ values that are displayed; and another that is written.
   + getCurrentValue - shouldn't return string displayed,
 but the value
   + on a date-field; don't get Mon/1st/Jan - but an abstract date.
+ not so clear as all that (Norbert/Eike)
+ value written to field, not exposed at all (Lionel)
+ API is a special exception for this box
+ been there for a while.
+ keeping back-compat there is important (Eike)
   + introduce a new method - getActualCurrentValue
+ or incompatibly extend the existing interface
+ can we put it in a property instead ?

Good idea. I have searched a long time for solving this problem. Only
possibility now is to show a unique key-field as a part of the current
value, start a query and have a look for the foreign-key, which is
bounded to the table/query of the form.

To keep it back-compat, this bounded value should better be reached by
current bound value.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Purposes for the Integer field types in LibO 4.0.2

2013-04-19 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hello Dan,

the list you created I couldn't read so well, so I add a new list:
The data-types of the HSQLDB are defined in the description of the
HSQLDB. You can find the description here:
http://www.hsqldb.org/doc/1.8/guide/
 [TINYINT]
 -128 to 127
2⁸ (8 Bit) (-7 Bit to +7 Bit-1)
 [SMALLINT]
 -32,768 to 32,767
2¹⁶ (16 Bit) (-15 Bit to +15 Bit-1)
 [INTEGER][INT]
 -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647
2³² (32 Bit) (-31 Bit to +31 Bit-1)
 [BIGINT]
 -9,223,372,036,854,775,808 to 9,223,372,036,854,775,807
2⁶⁴ (64 Bit) (-63 Bit to +63 Bit-1)

Hope this will be readable. All types have the same range as the Java-types.

I have some questions about them.
 1) What is the difference between [INT] and [INTEGER]?

No difference, see the HSQLDB-description

 2) Do they have the same range?

See 1)

 3) What purpose does each of these field types serve?

With every type is described, how much memory is needed for it.

 4) Is there a link that describes the information for all of the field
types used by the Table Design dialog?

The shown field-types are different when you use different databases.
For the fields-types of the HSQLDB you have to look in the description
of the HSQLDB

 5) What is the range for [MEDIUMINT]?

This isn't shown in the GUI, when you open a HSQLDB. I have just opend
LO 4.0.3.1 for have a look. Tis type isn't a type of the HSQLDB. Could
be you have found this type, when connecting to a MySQL-database. The
range of this type is
2²⁴ (24 Bit)
The unsigned versions of the datatype you could not chose with the
HSQLDB. The Java-Integer-Datatypes are all signed.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Bug 61166: Base since LO 4.0 unusable with correlating subqueries

2013-02-21 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hello Dan,

The problem is how the Query Design dialog runs the query.

And this is the problem: Queries, which run in the design-view, could be
edited. Queries, which have been started in the directly SQL-modus,
couldn't be edited and are not usable for forms, where you want to add
content in the tables.

The queries work in the design-view of LO 3.3 up to 3.6, not in 4.0.0.3.

Alex could confirm that an set this bug to new. Hope, that this
regression won't live long.

Hi Petr,

Also you could pay someone to work on a certain bug. There is a growing
list of certified developers which are capable of doing such things.
These are well spend money because they improve the product and motivate
 people working on LO.

Don't know, if you know, to whom you are writing this. Or could be I
don't understand enough English. Dan is the person, who writes the
international Base-Guide. I have written the German Base-Handbuch.
We both spend a lot of time for helping other people to understand the
database included in LO - by writing Guides, by helping in a forum or in
mailinglists. We motivate people to work with Base.
... and whe souldn't only spend a lot of time to motivate. Now we should
also spend money???
No, I don't need Base in newer versions of LO. I 'm still using LO
3.3.4, because this is the best working version of LO, when I try to
work with Base.
My own databases I use for work aren't Base-databases. I'm working with
PHP/Apche/MySQL.

Hi Alex,

After suffering from the last two mass closure / re-initialisations of
status of a fair number of bugs I had spent time in opening, but for
lack of a dedicated developer / interest in those particular areas of LO
at the time (OSX bugs, Base bugs) they never got any attention, I for
one, will not be interested in this happening yet again.

All open bugs in Base today: 225
Bugs, which are Unconfimed: 27
Bugs, which are Needinfo: 26
I don't think that we need automatically way to get these bugs away.
Problem of many of these bugs: They couldn't be confirmed by everybody,
because there are special configurations with external databases or Mac.
What we need: developers, who will work on bugs in Base. There are many
bugs New and opened since the first version of LO.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Bug 59481 - FILEOPEN: Linux rpm: Native MySQL-connector aoo-my-sdbc-1.1.0 didn't work any more with LO 4.0

2013-01-19 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hello Dan,

I have reported
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59481
(FILEOPEN: Linux rpm: Native MySQL-connector aoo-my-sdbc-1.1.0 didn't
work any more with LO 4.0)
and
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59516
(FILEOPEN: Native MySQL-connector couldnt be installed under Windows in
LO 4.0)

I looked through the bugs reports for possible duplication. I
found 59481 (Linux 32 bit RPM) which is this one,
59533 (Windows 32 bit), and 59516 (Windows 32 bit). All of them have the
same problem: the MySQL native connector can not be used to connect to a
MySQL data source. I use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32 bit, and I have the same
problem with the MySQL native connector. My conclusion is that the 32
bit version of it has a regressive bug. I can use this connector with LO
 3.5.7.2 and 3.6.4.3 but not 4.0.0.1RC.
Being new at this, should I change Platform to All for 59481?
Should 59533 and 59516 be marked as duplicates? Should I mark 59481 as
confirmed? I believe that these are the things that need to be done.

There is a difference in the behavior under Linux and Windows. The old
connector 1.0.1 doesn't work under Linux since 3.5. So you could only
connect with the 1.1.0 of AOO. Under Linux this connector could be
installed in LO 4.0.0.1 rc. Under Windows the installation fails.
Linux-user might think: Connector is installed, no error appears, should
work - but it doesn't: ... No SDBC driver was found for the given URL.

First I thought it was the same problem at Windows, but it wasn't (I
have no Window here at all, so it is reported from other persons by mail
to me). So I have to report another bug. See
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59481#c1

Only one bug in one report I have often heard. So I linked this two
reports with See also ...

Bug 59533 is a duplicate of 59516. Don't know, why the reporter is
writing a new bug. He always noticed bug 59481 and then he could also
notice the link to bug 59516. I will mark this report as a duplicate.

Re: [Libreoffice-qa] ToDos rename 3.7 to 4.0

2012-11-11 Thread Robert Großkopf
Hi *,

when I read Version 4.0 I think there should happen a lot in a program
for a complete new version.

Since many years for Base was discussed, that there has to be a change
in the database of OOo- and LO-Base. But this discussion, if this should
be the newer HSQLDB or anything else, didn't progress. And when I see
the bugs in Base, particularly the regressions from 3.3 to 3.4 to 3.5 to
3.6 → I don't know if the database would be usable any more with a very
different version No. 4.
