For that unit, I believe you set COM2 as an IrDa device in BIOS. Once the infrared device is working on COM2, you need the MSIR2.0 driver package from MS. When MSIR2.0 is running, it takes the physical device on COM2 and makes it available to programs as a virtual COM and LPT port. For example, when the MSIR2.0 is running it says something like "Infrared support on COM2 is enabled, providing application support on COM3 and LPT3" and you set your communications programs up to COM3 ( NOT COM2 ). Also, the MSIR2.0 sets up a control panel applet where you can pause Infrared for battery savings, and also it broadcasts its availability and looks for other IrDa devices to connect to. You get a little half Ir icon which is red but blinks green every 3 seconds. When another device is present it makes TWO halfs and looks differerent. Pres Waterman W2PW c/o Patchogue Motors, Inc. I've used the drivers specified by Toshiba 128XD Neomagic MagicGraph but nowhere can I see a way to switch the display mode to the one I want. HELP!!!
