Musical Theatre-Style Bar Numbers

Hello everyone,
I’m transposing a musical theatre book and sometimes the bar numbers contain 
letters then go back to normal numbering.
Here is an example for the Bar Numbering that I am looking for:

1 2 3 3a 3b 3c 4 5 6

Does anyone know how to do this?

LilyPond is even flexible enough to accept

sustainOff = \tweak X-offset 2 \sustainOff

to make the tweak stick.

But I think it's usually better to represent the music semantically 
correct: A \sustainOff after the note means that the pedal should be 
released only _after_ the chord is played. For this, David Kastrup's 
\after function is highly useful:

The Harvard Concise discusses it in the article on double appoggiatura, 
essentially a variation of two merged appoggiaturas a third apart. The symbol 
itself is called a direct, custos in Latin, in early manuscripts used at the 
end of staff to warn about the next note.

That's a matter of naming the ossia staff and using alignBelowContext 
for the lyrics.

happen during an ossia, it should be printed in the ossia staff. But I

Thank you. My question/request is identical to the issue #6127.

According to the Wikipedia article 
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slide_(musical_ornament) 
, the Schleifer can be 
used for arbitrary interval while J. S. Bach seems to have used it for third 
very often. I think that a solution with a fixed symbol for third would be 
beneficial at least for those who have been typesetting Bach’s music often.

Yes, the symbol is very similar to \prallup but not identical. The symbol has 
one less squiggle than \prallup has, and the right end of the symbol has a 
slope going up toward the note to the right. The example in the previous post 
was from Baerenreiter edition (Neue Bach-Ausgabe).

By using \prallup, I was able to get the following but I’m not so sure whether 
this can be interpreted correctly by baroque music experts or not:



\once \overrideProperty Script.X-offset -2 \once \overrideProperty 
Script.Y-offset 1 f8\prallup

(sorry, this is on different clef)

The “modern” notation would be:

can simply use
