Hi there,
I've just recently started with Lilypond and am really enjoying it. If the
developers are on here, I want to start by publicly offering my thanks.
I would like to be able to access all the manuals locally if possible. How
would I go about downloading the HTML versions? For various personal reasons
I find those a lot more accessible than the PDF versions.

The doc tarball should contain the entire website structure for the HTML
documentation.

Yes. For instance, ranking is by proximity, and you can do stuff line
(line break)~5 to find line and break withing 5 words. Personally
I've always found direct search into the lilypond manual impossible.

Sebastino, I just did a quick check with line break, and the
first two results were in the Program Reference. What about adding
an option (IMHO, it should be enabled by default) to restrict the
search to the user manual? Most people don't want to see stuff
like Forbid_line_breaker or line-break-event. :)

Well, that's easy: line break !reference . I'll add a line in the
help section.

The fifth result of that search was the all-in-one page; you
should probably remove that from the search space. I mean, the
whole point of this searching is that you don't need to use the
one big page! :)

Fixed. Thanks!

http://download.linuxaudio.org/lilypond/binaries/documentation/lilypond-2.10.12-1.documentation.tar.bz2

It's listed under download, instead of docs.

OK, I'm an idiot. But, to my excuse, there are two clearly marked
sections Linux and Other, and after that, the section about the
development version. The documentation is in the Other section. I
think that a greenish bar with Documentation or Sources
Documentation would help... :)

In any case, *it's online* (I mean, the searchable manual)! Just go
to LSR and try the obvious link. It's a bit crude, but we will refine
the idea.
