Hi,

I am a new user and would like to create a Linphone account. I went to this
page;

https://subscribe.linphone.org/register/email
I put in all the required fields and click register. I don't see a confirmation
and haven't received any emails (I checked spam).

I tried logging in with my details and it always says wrong username or

I also tried the account recovery but never receive a code.

I would really appreciate if some kind person will be able to help me set up an

Thank you,

2024-01-10 Thread Julien Favre-Bulle
Dear Mauricio,

Thank you for your interest in Linphone !

Your issue should be related to a TLS handshake problem following the update of
mbedTLS that we did in our SDK 5.3 (error
MBEDTLS_ERR_SSL_BAD_HS_PROTOCOL_VERSION)

This means that the TLS library on your server is obsolete.

The workaround is to update your server.

Linphone for Android was working fine with TLS and our FreePBX server until
21-dic when a new version for android was released

The app log shows the following entry:

SSL handshake failed : SSL - Handshake protocol not within min/max boundaries

Uninstalling the app and installing manually version 5.1.4 works agan. Going
back to the latest version breaks it again. (Same is happening to all users
with android and IOS)

Any others seeing it? or any workaround?

Dear Sophie,

Thank you for your interest in Linphone.

Supporting push notifications has become compulsory since iOS 10 and on most
recent Android phones to receive incoming calls and messages when the app is
not active in foreground.

To wake up a VoIP app when an incoming call or an incoming message is received,
the server must send a push notification request to Apple/Google's PN server.
For security reasons, Apple/Google doesn't allow everybody to send push
notifications to their servers. There are private keys and certificates to
protect the whole process.

We have decided not to share Linphone’s push notification ID with third party
services, and this is why the stock Linphone app can only receive push
notifications sent from our sip.linphone.org service.

To verify that it is indeed technically possible to be notified of incoming
calls when Linphone is closed or running in the background, you can create a
sip.linphone.org account and configure it in the app.

Hi,

I read on this link that Linphone ios client could use PUSH notifications for
inbound calls:-

https://www.linphone.org/features#:~:text=Since%20Linphone%20supports%20push%20notifications,or%20not%20in%20the%20foreground.

"Since Linphone supports push notifications from Apple and Google, you will be
notified of incoming calls and text messages even if the Linphone app is
inactive or not in the foreground. "

I have got a Callcentic account configured in Linphone on ios.

I enabled PUSH notifications, but incoming calls to the Callcentric number did
not get through.

Does anybody know how I can get the PUSH notifications to work?

I'm hoping someone can help me to resolve getting a Linphone account created. I
installed Linphone on my iPhone and tried to create a Linphone account with a
custom username "AI4Y" and I waited for a verification code TEXT message to my
mobile number which was never received. The account creation never processed to
the point where I was ever prompted for an email address or a password. It did
however create the Linphone account for AI4Y as any attempt to to repeat the
process fails that the account already exists.

Since no email address was ever associated to the account and no password
ever assigned, I cannot use the account or recover it. The username AI4Y is my
amateur radio callsign, therefore picking another username to register is not
feasible. Is there anyone that can clean up the failed account creation so I
may attempt it again?

Dears

I am trying to use Linphone on Raspberry PI4, using the h/w accelerated H264
video codec. With the Raspberry PI OS distributions, it looks like only the
s/w VP8 codec is provided. With the Ubuntu distribution for the PI H264 is
supported. So here are my questions :

1. how can I use the h/w accelerated H264 video codec on Raspberry PI
OS (Buster or Bullseye) ? Do I *simply* need to recompile the source code
for Linphone ?
2. despite H264 working with the Ubuntu distribution I notice that the
video quality is quite different depending on who is initiating the call : I
have 2 devices : 1 Android smartphone and 1 PI4 running Ubuntu, both are
running Linphone and both are on the same private WIFI. When the call is
initiated by the PI to the smartphone, the video quality is perfect, but
when the call is initiated from the smartphone to the PI then the video
quality is poor and I can see that the H264 codec is loosing frames. How can
I have the same video quality regardless of who initiates the call ?
3. I would be interested in using the python wrapper/binding, but it
looks no more available ? Would somebody know if there is a plan to revive
this or a beta version available somewhere ?

Thanks

Asterisk typically supports the same.

Just updated my OSX Desktop Linphone from 5.1.* to 5.2

Unlike all past Linphone updates this most recent update lost my configuration.

So I opened the REMOTE CONFIGURATION option and gave it the url to my
configuration file, but it was no longer accepted/recognized.

Have the remote configuration options somehow changed with 5.2?

My linphone-desktop under Debian was recently upgraded to version: 5.0.2-4

Preferences->Calls and Chat -> show DTMF keyboard automatically

I normally have this selected. But then the DTMF keyboard window overlays
the main window, so it is impossible to make an outgoing call since that
cannot be selected.

I will attach a screenshot which shows the problem. I cannot call Mouselike
because the DTMK keyboard window (which I can't move) is in the way.
