 Hi all!

 The Tel Aviv Open Source Club invites everyone to a talk by Yaron Meiry
 (Sawyer) about Programming Red Flags - on Sunday, 28-June-2009. (Notice
 the one week postponement).

 The meeting will take place at Tel Aviv University, at the Schreiber
 MathsCS building, room 008 on 18:30. So mark your calendars. More
 information can be found at:

 Attendance is free and everyone are welcome.

 Abstract:
 -

 Some programming habits should be avoided at all costs; some should be
 considered with care and some are just divine. Red flags tell us what to
 try and avoid and what to inspect more closely. They are a sign of code
 that might become problematic or straightforwardly dangerous. The talk will
 be Perl- oriented (with Perl examples) but the programming practices are
 generic and can be applied to most programming languages, so if you program
 in Ruby, Python, PHP or other languages, this talks to you as well.

 Hopefully by the time we're done, you'll be able to write cleaner, more
 maintainable, less error-prone, and better code. If not, your money back
 guarantee!
 --

 We are always looking for presentations on interesting topics. If you have
 an interesting idea for a talk, feel free to contact us and we'll
 co-ordinate a date.

   Shlomi Fish

Is there a call running (in asterisk: core show channels)?
Is the FXO device off-hook (I suppose it should show somehow in its

Don't know about download helper, but you can use tcpdump, while the movie
starts, and watch for 'GET' messages for flv files. something like this:
,
| $ tcpdump -i eth0 -s 512 -l -A port http | egrep Host:|GET.*flv.*HTTP

Then use wget on the URL you find. Not a one-click-your-mother-proof

Hello Noam

I see that you use -oX. You have another flag that you can use --stylesheet
  --stylesheet path/URL: XSL stylesheet to transform XML output to HTML

Have you tried that? From Html you can convert to other formats.

As for the more interactively to the user, I am not sure exactly
what you mean. --packet-trace is interactively enough? Or you want
some bar that shows the progress of the scan like ---50%-

If the later is what you are looking for, then in zenmap during a scan
it shows how much in % it already scanned.

I hope I gave you a different point of view.

 nmap will give out a progress if keyWasPressed is detected the code
 for this is found inside nmap_tty.cc which basically does:

 For some reason the above code doesn't do it, is it because its not

Bug reports retrieval problem when updating Debian packages

2009-06-27 Thread Omer Zak
Since I upgraded my PC from Debian Etch to Debian Lenny, when I run
aptitude to update packages, I get the following output:

Reading package fields... Done
Reading package status... Done
Retrieving bug reports... 0% Fail
 E: Empty stream from SOAP
Retry downloading bug information?[Y/n]? n
Abort the installation[Y/n]? n
Retrieving bug reports... Done

Notice the error when retrieving bug reports.
So I update packages without seeing bug reports (the 'n' answers to the
two prompts above are mine).

Did anyone else encounter the same problem? If yes, how to solve it?

Hi sara,

I am not looking for direct HTML rendering, rather that nmap will give
more updates during the process, at the moment it just tells you at
the beging hello and when its done here are the results.

If you want to get an update on its progress you need to press a key
on the tty.

I will look into zenmap, thanks for the hint.

Re: reshet.ynet.co.il not on Download Helper, anything else?

2009-06-27 Thread Noam Rathaus
Amos,

How hard are you willing to work?

Its not hard to get the FLV from the HTML, steps:
1) Open the source code seek - white_player.swf
invokeLater(function() {
var so = new SWFObject(/flash/white_player.swf,
Flash90_embed, 412, 337, 8, #00);
so.addParam(wmode, opaque);
so.addParam(allowFullScreen, true);
so.addParam(menu, false);
so.addVariable(pageUrl, http://reshet.ynet.co.il/1.aspx;);
so.addVariable(xmlURL,
/Handlers/CompnentVideos.ashx?id=90%26webPageId=1%26headerId=);
so.addVariable(fixed, false);
so.write(Flash90);
});

2) Copy the xmlURL section, like so
http://reshet.ynet.co.il/Handlers/CompnentVideos.ashx?id=90%26webPageId=1%26headerId=

3) Change %26 to
http://reshet.ynet.co.il/Handlers/CompnentVideos.ashx?id=90webPageId=1headerId=

4) In the source of:
http://reshet.ynet.co.il/Handlers/CompnentVideos.ashx?id=90webPageId=1headerId=

Look for:
vsrc=http://switch434-01.castup.net/cunet/gm.asp?ai=434ar=runway_s01_extra008ak=nulltest=test.flv;

5) The above link (vsrc) is the FLV movie you wanted
