One always runs the risk a power user will break a page when images are
used (in part) to lay it out. Otherwise, very nice.

Is a power user someone who resizes the text?

To that end, you might want to consider setting the width of your h2 in
ems so that when the text is resized, the space it occupies increases with
the text.

Also, when using image rollovers you might consider putting both states
into the same image and moving it with background-position on :hover so
there's no lag when you first rollover the image.

2006-12-18 Thread James Gollan

the overall layout is nice, but I think you could make a bit more of the
business card at the top left. It doesn't look quite finished. And on some
pages the drop shadow isn't lining up.

The main layout breaks a bit (and far too quickly) when the text is resized
in firefox. This isn't a problem in IE6 because you have set the font size
using pixels. Probably better to change that to a relative unit.

Very nice. I think spacing is a big issue - if elements could have
larger vertical margins the whole thing could breathe a lot easier: this
is especially true of the headings, which stick to the rest as if they
were ps; and the footer, which really clings to the last piece of content.

That's a subjective design judgment tough. It's fair to say there's a
strong tradition of these corporate identity websites whose priority is
to avoid scroll bars and have a header the size of the content. I don't
quite understand that aesthetic, so my opinion isn't the most objective.

Regards,
Barney

Hi Chamara,

The site looks great - well done!

One small thing (possibly related to 'Web Standards'... Sort of) - if you're
targeting an English-speaking audience, you'd do well to hire a freelance web
copy writer to rewrite the site content. Someone on the list may know of a good
freelance copy writer...?

Clearer sentence structure will help 'sell' your professionalism to your
audience.
