Next Social Meeting
From: Paul Mison [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, April 20, 2001 4:54 PM Um, just to make this not a one-liner: davorg, are you going to post the decision of the emergency meeting meeting? There was a decision? Oh, wait. I remember. I'll be out of the country at the end of next week so I won't be able to make a reasonable decision on going ahead. I'm therefore going to delegate this decision-making to Jo. By next Friday, she will decide whether to hold the meeting on the planned date (3th May) or to postpone it for a week. Holding it the previous day doesn't sound like a good option as tube services will start to run down from about 8:00pm that day if the strike goes ahead. Does that sound right? next social meeting vs tube strike
Noticed on my way past the news stands last night that the next tube strike is pencilled in for May the 3rd, as is the next social meeting. OK, so the strike might not happen but if it does is this not going to make the next social meeting a bit problematic? just a thought. Struan

You mean hold a meeting that's not on a Thursday. Hmm... interesting concept. I'm not sure that the rules cater for that possibility. Let me think about. Might need an EGM this evening. Hope we're quorate. Dunno, don't the strikes tend to start the evening before the day[1]? I'd be wary of holding in any time round the 3rd. struan [1] or the evening of the second to be less confusing

This finally gives an answer to a question I had, about why the talk is scheduled so early? Getting myself and Damian from Canary Wharf after his class ends at our place leaves about 20 minutes for dinner. It can't be that easy for other people as well... You work in Canary Wharf ? I work just down the road at Crossharbour .. If you are having a lunch break on Monday perhaps I can meet you. Drop me a note ... oh BTW that goes for anyone else who works silently in the Docklands area :) /J\ -- Jonathan Stowe | http://www.gellyfish.com | I'm with Grep on this one http://www.tackleway.co.uk |
