To enable this feature, the latest ports of libiconv and gettext must be installed: ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/current/v2gnu/licv116b.zip ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/current/v2gnu/gtxt201b.zip If you prefer NLS, then reconfigure the sources passing the nls flag to the config.bat file. The port has been configured with OPENSSL support. OpenSSL support requires installing the WATT-32 port. The following ports have been used: ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/current/v2tk/ssl102sb.zip ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/current/v2tk/wat3211b.zip No other versions have been tested. To be able to use this program compiled with OpenSSL and WATT-32 a noise source must be installed. A noise source can be obtained as: http://www.rahul.net/dkaufman/noise063a2.zip If for some reason you decide to reconfigure the source package, then you will have to set the WATT_ROOT environment variable to point to the directory where the headers and the library reside. This is: set WATT_ROOT=/dev/env/DJDIR/net/watt To be able to run the program, configuration files are expected to be found at their canonical place. This is the /dev/env/DJDIR/etc directory. The configuration files lynx.cfg and lynx.css are stored in the /etc directory and reflect, to certain extent, the conditions during the configuration and compilation process of this port. You may need to adjust the entries to fit your requiriments. If lynx.cfg and lynx.css are not found at their canonical place then the program will try to load them from the installation directory of lynx. To run the program, a working version of wattcp.cfg is required. This file is __NOT__ distributed with this port. That file will reflect your network environment and hardware. It is the user's job write one that matches his environment. As a starting point you can use the one distributed with the WATT-32 port. Please note that the location of wattcp.cfg must be specified by setting the WATTCP.CFG environment variable. This can be done either in the environment, in autoexec.bat or in djgpp.env. If the file cannot be found at any of the canonical places the program will try to load it from the installation directory of lynx. To be able to run the program, a DOS packet driver (PKTDRVR) is required. This may be obtained from the card manufacturer or from one of the archives of packet drivers (such as "http://www.lanet.lv/simtel.net/msdos/pktdrvr-pre.html; or "http://ftp.freenet.de/pub/ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/msdos/pktdrvr/;). Even when only browsing local files, a NULLPKT packet driver is required like nullpkt.zip. The zip file can be downloaded as: http://www.jumpjet.info/Application-Software/DOS/Hardware/2/NULLPKT/NULLPKT.zip The lynx executable itself handles http:, https:, ftp:, file:,

Thomas, Ian, Thomas I personally can do nothing whatsoever with the snapshop. because of how I use a computer, and the lack of pure dos compiles of Lynx recently, my only access to the browser, or to the internet in general comes via using ssh telnet to reach shellworld. Ian, if you choose to access this snapshot, can you test for improvements? I will likely have to wait first for its incorporation into a lynx edition, then to how these changes might be incorporated into shellworld before I try. Regardless I am reporting to Amazon, so a test of some kind will be helpful. Hi Ian, everyone, Finally a moment to read the other comments here. Am I correct in understanding that the cookie that should be accepted has a latter time than 2038, meaning it is being rejected perhaps creating part of the issue? I did note that the audio challenge is not working and that even when properly solved the error still happens. I am reconnecting with Amazon this evening, so wish confirmation that I can share this discussion, and that my understanding is correct? It's not unique to you. I cannot see any way of getting past this screen in Lynx without being able to view the image. The audio challenge simply doesn't work at all. Incidentally, it doesn't seem to matter whether or not you enter your password correctly on the first login screen. There is also supposed to be 'ubid-acbuk', but this one was never present in Lynx's cookie jar. I think the lack of this cookie is what is prompting Amazon to say "please enable cookies". So I think there is another issue going on. Amazon is issuing some cookies valid for approx 20 years and these are not getting stored in my copy of Lynx. Yes, this happens at panix.com too you get prompted to enable cookies if you hit enter and leave the captcha field blank. Re: [Lynx-dev] lynx and amazon?
Well, I have no access to those other tools, could never get edbrowse to work here at shellworld. I can say that elinks, produces the same issue though, although I remain unsure if elinks even saves cookies. My goal here, which you have actually surpassed by illustrating that the audio challenge will not play, was seeing if the cookie error happened after content was or was not added to the verification field. Kare On Mon, 26 Aug 2019, Jude DaShiell wrote: Yes, amazon.com did leave a cookie in ~/.lynx_cookies At this point I shouldn't take this testing any further though I could throw eww firefox edbrowse and chrome at it to find out if any of them will play the challenge. If I were to do this and fail in every instance I'd conclude amazon isn't Linux-Friendly in addition to being less than blind-friendly. Re: [Lynx-dev] lynx and amazon?
Lots of places use the more inclusive math problems these days. My favorite though is the one at a site called darklordpotter.net. those use harry Potter related questions, which likewise show up in text. Do you mind doing one more test? go back again, and when you reach the non inclusive captcha, just hit enter on the button that would send the content. I am interested in if a, the site detects that the field is empty, or b, you get the cookie request message. Fortunately I do not have an employer requiring me to purchase items from amazon otherwise I'd be in serious job jeopardy now. Cookies are enabled here too. Since this is the first time trying to do anything with amazon on this machine I'm going to see if it put a cookie on my hard drive. The Navy has people solve math problems and those come up on the screen in text and that works for them so amazon is without excuse.
