help with lyx-qt and fonts

2004-03-05 Thread Khurom Kiyani
Hello fellow LyX users  gurus,

I have a problem with the screen fonts on my LyX-Qt 1.3.3. I installed
it on my Mac OS X using Fink. All the greek letters, integrals and near
abouts all math symbols turn out funny i.e. gobbledy gook. If i switch
to the old xforms version everything is back to normal again. But i
would like to be able to use the qt version if i can.

Can someone help me out with this please. Thanks

Khurom

SuSE again...

2004-03-05 Thread Konrad Blum
Hi,

after some searching around I could not find any RPM of lyx-1.3.3-qt or
lyx-1.3.4-qt which works well with vanilla SuSE 9.0.
The RPM of lyx-1.3.3.-qt for SuSE no longer sits, where it was announced
some months ago. Seems google and rpmseek would not be of much help.

Any hints?

unfortunately I cannot provide an rpm, because my SuSE is not vanilla
anymore. Have you tried to build it? It should build just fine with
./configure --with-frontend=qt --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt3
make
su
make install
You'll need to install the qt-devel package, though.

But don't forget to install the patched fonts:

Printing Comments environment?

2004-03-05 Thread Stefano Franchi
Dear All,

	I was wondering is there is way to switch Comment paragraphs on and
off the formatted output. What I am trying to do is to emulate the
Conditional text feature of FrameMaker (a more powerful version of
Word's invisible text). I looked through the documentation, FAQs,
etc., but could not find anything. Perhaps Comment is not the right
paragraph environment? Or perhaps I need an additional package? Any
help is greatly appreciated.

In the Document menu, choose Preamble and paste the following line:

And then one of the following two lines for if you want them printed or not.

\includecomment{comment}

This will work for what you describe, but LyX lacks proper conditional text

In the Document menu, choose Preamble and paste the following line:

\usepackage{comment}

And then one of the following two lines for if you want them printed or not.

\includecomment{comment}
\excludecomment{comment}

This will work for what you describe, but LyX lacks proper conditional text
support. (Yes, I know the ifthen-package workaround, that's pretty ugly.)
