how to enable a disabled command?

I am familiar with shortcut command with scientific workplace, and thus
incorporated those shortcut command into lyx. However, some of the shortcut
command usable in scientific workplace, say ctrl+9 to input (), ctrl+/ to
input fraction, ctrl+2 to input square root ... are disabled in lyx, anybody
knows how to deal with this issue? Thanks!

 I exported the file to pdflatex and found that this line is the source of
the problem (the part in \nomenclature[]). Any idea what is wrong?

that is evaluted at time level n.}

view latex source - noob prob?

Hello,

since this morning i have a problem with lyx, I can't handle.
I use Lyx in Linux Debian testing.
I've always been able to view the latex source code below the window.
view source is acitvated, but there's nothing to see. Never. In any 
section of the text.
The buttons to view the entire code or to refresh automatically are 
gray, deaktivated and i can't change them.


Seems to be a bug in my brain or something like this...

Someone got an idea?

Aspell gives strange results in French

Hi all!

I have just installed Aspell (0.60.6) on my Mac (Leopard) to get 
spellcheking with Lyx (1.6.3). I followed these instructions:

I also installed the French and English dictionaries.

The install process went well and I have now Aspell working in Lyx. 
However, the spellcheking seems to be very bad. It seems to recognize 
most of the words but sometimes it doesn't recognize basic French words 
like de, mots or géographie. It is very surprising because I used 
it on another computer (with CocoaSpell this time), and everything was 
working well.


Any idea about what is going wrong? Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for the advise I put C:\Program Files\elyxer in the path as 
well. The latex to html converter with
lyx html python $$s/scripts/elyxer.py $$i $$o   didn't work and 
gave me error but lyx to html convert with

python $$s/scripts/elyxer.py $$i $$o is working ok.

So the problem is solved. I am not sure if it is suppose to work with 
latex to html converter int he first place. The problem in my case seems 
to be coming from lyx html part.  Anyway i am getting the html 
properly now need to spend time to understand this better. Thanks again 
for the help and  elyer.  I hope this will same me some time in 
converting my documents into word so that my advisor can read and 
comment. So far i have not been able to convince him to use Lyx or even 
use PDF for correction :(.

Oh! Now I realize that!
I think they are the strings (\\alph{enumii}) and so.
Now I can adapt the translated strings to the appropriate default
spanish pdf-output.

No, its a bug in LyX. Happened to me after I disabled both auto-update and
full view with the next start of LyX.

 Someone got an idea?

find ~/.config/LyX/LyX-1.6.2.conf

and change the lines with view-source to look like:

0\view-source\fullsource=false
0\view-source\autoupdate=true

This is fixed in 1.6.3.
 
It is easier to turn on the view source window again by entering the following 
command in the command buffer twice: buffer-toggle-read-only. (And make sure 
you check one of the two checkboxes after that, before closing all open 
documents or opening a read-only document).

[nomenclature] missing $ inserted.

Hi!
When I get an error with lyx.

! Missing $ inserted.

 I exported the file to pdflatex and found that this line is the source of
the problem (the part in \nomenclature[]). Any idea what is wrong?

{} \nomenclature[XX HH
$\left[\left[\right]\right]^{n}$]{$\left[\left[\right]\right]^{n}$}{A term
that is evaluted at time level n.}

view latex source - noob prob?

Hello,

since this morning i have a problem with lyx, I can't handle.
I use Lyx in Linux Debian testing.
I've always been able to view the latex source code below the window.
"view source" is acitvated, but there's nothing to see. Never. In any 
section of the text.
The buttons to view the entire code or to refresh automatically are 
gray, deaktivated and i can't change them.


Seems to be a bug in my brain or something like this...

Someone got an idea?

Or add \usepackage{cite} in the preamble. It would be nice to support
this natively, actually.

The babel-spanish package is the key. See the footnotes 3 and 4 in
sec. 3.3.6.2 y 3.3.6.3 of the Spanish UserGuide manual, ("Ayuda->Guía
del usuario") .


If the spanish package changes how enumerations are done, you can
reflect that on screen by changing es.po.

Aspell gives strange results in French

Hi all!

I have just installed Aspell (0.60.6) on my Mac (Leopard) to get 
spellcheking with Lyx (1.6.3). I followed these instructions:

I also installed the French and English dictionaries.

The install process went well and I have now Aspell working in Lyx. 
However, the spellcheking seems to be very bad. It seems to recognize 
most of the words but sometimes it doesn't recognize basic French words 
like "de", "mots" or "géographie". It is very surprising because I used 
it on another computer (with CocoaSpell this time), and everything was 
working well.


Any idea about what is going wrong? Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for the advise I put "C:\Program Files\elyxer" in the path as 
well. The latex to html converter with
"lyx" "html" "python $$s/scripts/elyxer.py $$i $$o" ""  didn't work and 
gave me error but lyx to html convert with

python $$s/scripts/elyxer.py $$i $$o is working ok.

So the problem is solved. I am not sure if it is suppose to work with 
latex to html converter int he first place. The problem in my case seems 
to be coming from "lyx "html" part.  Anyway i am getting the html 
properly now need to spend time to understand this better. Thanks again 
for the help and  elyer.  I hope this will same me some time in 
converting my documents into word so that my advisor can read and 
comment. So far i have not been able to convince him to use Lyx or even 
use PDF for correction :(.

Oh! Now I realize that!
I think they are the strings "(\\alph{enumii})" and so.
Now I can adapt the translated strings to the appropriate default
spanish pdf-output.

I wanna to create a book with chapter. So I select chapter. and it put:Chapter 1But I don't wanna it put Chapter 1. As the Spanish tutorial I wanna that lyx put:Capítulo 1Other things as "Table of contents" I wanna see as "Índice general" Please I'm new if you can answer me in Spanish, do it. No, its a bug in LyX. Happened to me after I disabled both auto-update and
full view with the next start of LyX.

find ~/.config/LyX/LyX-1.6.2.conf

and change the lines with view-source to look like:

0\view-source\fullsource=false
0\view-source\autoupdate=true

This is fixed in 1.6.3.
 
It is easier to turn on the view source window again by entering the following 
command in the command buffer twice: "buffer-toggle-read-only". (And make sure 
you check one of the two checkboxes after that, before closing all open 
documents or opening a read-only document).
