two-column in Hebrew is reversed

2009-11-14 Thread Peleg Sapir
Hello,

I'm using lyx 1.6.4, with culmus-latex package.
The document type is article (hebrew).
system: ubuntu 9.10.

When I choose the Two-column document option in
Document--Settings...--Text Layout, when I render the document to pdf or
dvi, the two columns are divided as in LTR - the text is written first in
the left column, then in the right column. As this is good for English
and/or any other LRT langugae, it's awfully wrong in Hebrew, which is
written RTL.

further more, I can't seem to make the title, author and abstract layouts to
come before the two-columns splitting.

Here's a link to a tar.gz containing pdf and lyx file examples of the issue:
http://uploading.com/files/2d865245/two-column_example.tar.gz/

If anyone can help with these two issues, I'll be very thankful.

All the best,

Peleg S.

Lyx + apacite + natbib problem

2009-11-14 Thread teelmo

Hi,

I'm using Lyx and I want to have apacite like citations. I have chosen
apacite as the biblio style, I have natbib selected in my document settings.
Unfortunatly I get an error when using Lyx's build in citate option (see
attachment). This error comes up when I'm building to PDF.

http://n2.nabble.com/file/n4004610/Clipboard01.jpg

When using citations in ERT-box they work fine. For example like this:

\citep{IP_2009}

But if Lyx generates that code the error comes up.

I'm using Miktex 2.8, Lyx 1.6.4.1 on Windows XP

LyX doesn't find LaTeX (?)

2009-11-14 Thread Sadjad Siddiq
Hello!

I'm having some trouble to get LyX working. Whenever I open a document I get
this error message:

The layout file XXX requested by this document is not usable.

I have run Reconfigure several times (successfully as LyX proclaims), also
from the command prompt, reinstalled LyX and Miktex (also different versions)
And now I have tried to use TexLive. That didn't work either.
In my textclass.lst all the classes are marked as false, so I guess LyX
doesn't recognize any Latex-class. (and I have a full TexLive installation which
was recognized during LyX installation)
I am also a bit confused by the missing point 1 about my LaTeX installation in
Help LaTeX Configuration. There is no information about my LaTeX. The given
information starts with 1. Fonts. Strange, eh?
It wouldn't bother me at all, but it makes me think LyX just never finds the
Latex distribution I happen to have.
And, finally, if I try to look at Tools TeX-Information, I don't get any
response, even though the CPU seems quite busy. But it remains busy for over
half an hour without showing any information. (Then I aborted the process)

Does anyone know where the problem is? I am close to losing my head (the very
head I wanted to keep by using LyX instead of MS Word...)

BTW, my operating system: Windows XP, current LyX Version 1.6.4, TeXLive 2009.

Cheers, Sadjad

You need to define a shortcut for the function "buffer-update pdf2" and/or
"buffer-view pdf2"

Maybe we should have this by default? But I guess it's difficult to find
an unused shortcut?

/Christian (who'd also like a shortcut for this).
