insert matrix: menu does no accept marked size

2011-01-10 Thread Jannick Asmus

Hi,

inserting a matrix in math mode with the matrix menu does not accept if
the size is marked with the mouse. What is used is the size marked in
the col/row fields of the menu.

Is this a bug?

Using LyX 2.0b1 on WinVista.

Thx.

hyperref to pdf: path format?

2011-01-10 Thread Jannick Asmus

Hi,

I want to use a hyperlink in a PDF output to a file on my hard drive.
Using the hyperlink menu in LyX , what path format should be used to
make that work?

Not working is the path, e.g., H:\folder\file.pdf - translated to
texcode this appears as

\footnote{\href{file:H:\%5Cfolder\%5Cfile.pdf}{H:\textbackslash{}folder\textbackslash{}file.pdf}%
}

Anything wrong with my path format as input?

Working with LyX2.0b1 on WinVista.

Hallo,

I have compiled lyx 2 before by using svn.
Now I want to update it and used
svn update
according to http://www.lyx.org/HowToUseSVN point 5
there were conflicts discovered in po/xx.po files
which I postponed, because I did not know what else to do.
Does anybody know?

I am also wondering what I have to do next.

Is this the stable module, which I downloaded?
How do I find out?

in this case I guess I have to do
./autogen.sh, ./configure, make, and sudo make install
(using stow in the make install, which I used before).

If it is the development module
it is:
, things are somewhat more complicated than for the release module. You're
going to need automake, autoconf, and gettext, which can be downloaded from
your favorite GNU ftp site. (Start at gnu.org to find a mirror.) Once you've
installed all of that stuff, just run the autogen.sh script written by Allan
Rae, which will do things in the right order, and then tell you to run
configure and make.

There is only one version of LyX2.0 in SVN. We will start

hyperref to pdf: path format?

Hi,

I want to use a hyperlink in a PDF output to a file on my hard drive.
Using the hyperlink menu in LyX , what path format should be used to
make that work?

Not working is the path, e.g., H:\folder\file.pdf - translated to
texcode this appears as

\footnote{\href{file:H:\%5Cfolder\%5Cfile.pdf}{H:\textbackslash{}folder\textbackslash{}file.pdf}%
}

Anything wrong with my path format as input?

svn update

2011-01-10 Thread Wolfgang Engelmann

I would just delete the whole po directory and use "svn revert -R po"
to restore it.

There is only one version of LyX2.0 in SVN. We will start
distinguishing between a stable and trunk version when LyX2.0 is
officially released. For now, the stable branch refers to 1.6.x.

Does pdflatex complain that it cannot determine the sizes of the missing images?
This is normal for pdflatex, whereas DVI and PS output just puts arbitrary
boxes containing the file names where the images should go. If you want to
export using pdflatex, and you cannot obtain the images, you can either
substitute other images or delete the images from the LyX file (possibly just
substitute their names, in text).

I did, even with multiple slashes and backslashes. I suspect that it is

It would be nice for any user, if the path could be entered into the

ANNOUNCE: LyX version 2.0.0 (beta 3)

Pre-release of LyX version 2.0.0 (beta 3)
==

We are pleased to announce the third public pre-release of LyX 2.0.0.

Except usual bugfixing we addressed long-term slowness issues during this
cycle, in particular we tried to improve performance of the following areas:
* exporting of longer documents
* editing of documents with rich inset structure
* editing with opened outliner.

Please report the problems and bugs at our lists or bug tracker and
also note that this release is for testing purposes only. Users are
encouraged to use current 1.6 stable release for any serious work.

Tarballs and binaries can be found at ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/devel/

LyX 2.0.0 will be culmination of more than two years of hard work
and you can find an overview of the new features here:
http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/NewInLyX20

If you think you found a bug in LyX 2.0.0, either e-mail the LyX
developers' mailing list (lyx-devel at lists.lyx.org), or open a bug
report at http://www.lyx.org/trac/wiki/BugTrackerHome

If you have trouble using LyX or have a question, consult the
documentation that comes with LyX and http://wiki.lyx.org.
If you can't find the answer there, e-mail the LyX users' list
(lyx-users at lists.lyx.org).

We hope you will enjoy the result!
