Lyx 2.0 problems with PDF in Windows

2011-07-11 Thread Mariano Llamedo Soria
Hi everybody, I am still having problems with Lyx 2.0 producing PDF files.
The message I have when trying to visualize, after Latex compiling is No
PDF Viewer is installed I read a post of Josep Luis having the same
problem, that after uninstalling, cleaning the registry of lyx and acrobat
stuff, reinstalling acrobat with all updates and latest Lyx he suceed to
produce PDF documents. This is not my case with Windows XP SP3. I also tried
Sumatra with no sucess ... I have been using Lyx for 4 years with no
problems, probably an installation bug is still around there ... Can anybody
help ?

Regards,
Mariano.

2011-07-11 Thread Edgar Ataide
Good Morning

I am using lyx 2.0 in WinXP Pro SP3. I have the the Foxit Reader as the
default pdf viewer, but recently I installed the Acrobat Reader X and I
want that the default lyx pdf viewer to be the Acrobat reader. How can I
change the lyx configuration to switch from Foxit to Acrobat reader?

Best regards

Re: Autoadding \maketitle destroys layout of my article

2011-07-11 Thread jasonzwl
I think I found the trick to solve this and such problem in lyx. Generally,
you can edit source in directly in lyx window by insert Tex Code (Ctrl+L).
So, the way I do is write the title and author as standard paragraph. Then
insert Tex Code, \title{} and \author{} before and after your title and
author. You won't get \maktitle anymore. At least, it works fine with me.
Hope you are lucky.

Are there any dice or dots packages that would be compatible with a

Does the elsarticle class use something other than \maketitle to make

Re: Autoadding \maketitle destroys layout of my article

2011-07-11 Thread jasonzwl
I think I found the trick to solve this and such problem in lyx. Generally,
you can edit source in directly in lyx window by insert "Tex Code" (Ctrl+L).
So, the way I do is write the title and author as standard paragraph. Then
insert Tex Code, \title{} and \author{} before and after your title and
author. You won't get \maktitle anymore. At least, it works fine with me.
Hope you are lucky.

I am using xelatex mode with a Cherokee Glyphed set of fonts that
don't have all these extra chars as part of the font.
So.. I take it that I can't use any of these specials without pulling
my hair out?

I also tried the epsdice package, but when xelatex+system font mode is
active, it malfunctions and prints *all* the possible combinations of
die faces instead of just the once requested. (that is to say, I
put in \epsdice{1}, and get a row of six white dice of all faces in
order...)

Are there any dice or dots packages that would be compatible with a
non-English setup like this?

The culprit may be here. Instead of 'custom -> pdfview', can you
select one from the predefined list, such as 'acroread', 'evince',
etc.? Otherwise, what do you see in that list?

Are you using elsarticle.layout shipped by LyX? Or some home-brewed
.layout file? In any case, LyX controls adding \maketitle via the
'InTitle' command in the .layout file. See Help > Customization >
5.3.6.

I'm not sure about the second line of code, though.

Does the elsarticle class use something other than \maketitle to make
the title? This too can be controlled, as can where \title and \author
go. Some classes require them in the preamble.

2011-07-11 Thread Mariano Llamedo Soria
Thanks Liviu but the problem seems not to be there. I tried many options as
you suggested, acrobat, sumatra, etc. I have to remark that in version 1.6.9
the same configuration than in 2.0 is set: Custom -> pdfview. There are not
predefined options as you suggested, only None and Custom. Any clue ?

Regards,
Mariano.
