Dictionary / Linguistics
Hello! I have got 2 questions: 1) I am using the german version of LyX, most Tutorials and Help-Communities are in English, though. This makes it harder to apply all the hints and tricks as frequently I have to guess the corresponding lables or just press any button in a menu to find out which was the one I wanted... Is there any lyx-specific dictionary or list of corresponding terms that could help me? If not: It would be great if people translating LyX to further languages would create such a dictionary as they proceed. 2) I am writing my thesis in linguistics with LyX - the first real document I am writing with LyX - so I still need a lot of help. I have found out quite a few things using the wiki.lyx for linguists, but I'd still need some more help. Can you recommend me a linguistics-lyx-community that is active and / or has got a good list of already discussed questions? Thanks a lot! Julia Schäfer / Austria

Today I try since several hours to convert a text into a PDF and I always get the notice of three errors ( I attached these). Old Lyx documents are still able to convert. May anybody be able to help me??? Thanks a lot Nina You probably chose the Save as document defaults button in Document-Settings in a document that had something written in the preamble. Please check what's in Document-Settings-LaTeX Preamble (should be empty). Dear Philip, thank you very much for your fast help. It worked very well and although I don´t understand how this setting happened - anyway - it´s working now perfectly!!! Best regards Nina
Re: Enumitem.sty
Open a DOS window (Start Run, type 'cmd', press Enter) and execute 'kpsewhich enumitem.sty'. It should return the path to the file. If it returns nothing, the package is not properly installed. Paul

It shows that the perl interpreter is no in place - this worked at least. but when I compile a document with multiple indexes, I see only my text and no indexes. As the Perl interpreter is there, it can be that I need to deliver more of its plugins. To find this out, can you please send me your LyX test file? and do you have a older named ~\MiKTeX 2.9\miktex\lib which contains the subfolders Exporter, File, Getopt, IO and warnings? Yes, that I have. In my program files folder though, not in my home folder. This is correct. Note that the installer is not yet ready to be used without admin priviledges. There are still many open issues but I'm currently working on this. thanks and regards Uwe
