 Jürgen,

   I swapped completion-accept and cell-forward, applied/saved/closed the
dialog box, shut down LyX, and reloaded it. When I press the [Tab] key in a
table the cursor moves one cell left instead of right. That behavior is
supposed to be assigned to tab-back, not tab.

This is strange. What happens if you put the cursor in the table cell and
manually enter cell-forward return to the minibuffer (Alt+x)?

Suggestions on what else to try would be most welcome.

OK, I tested now and can confirm. The problem is that there is another

about python3 and lyx

2014-10-08 Thread Alex Vergara Gil
Hi lyxers!

I have lyx 2.1.2 in both Windows 7 x64 and Ubuntu 14.04 x64, it runs fine
when installing. Now my work depends a lot on python, specifically on python
3.4 which is the default in both of my systems. I have managed to run python
scripts within lyx and then the problem arises: lyx have its own bundled
python distribution in windows, so every python script runs in the bundled
version which is python 2.7, so my scripts doesn´t run on windows. I tried
to change the default python version in lyx so it is forced to us python3
and then it crashed because a lot of its default scripts doesn´t run anymore
(ie, the reconfigure.py script). I know in linux there is both python 2.7
and 3.4 living together and you can select between them, but in windows I
can´t manage to achieve this behavior.

My questions are exclusive (or not)

1. Is there a plan to move everything to python3 so we can finally
forget the old python2?

Or

2. Is there a way to have both python3 and bundled python version in
lyx living together in windows? Any hints?

Best Regards

Jürgen,

I moves the cursor right one cell. Rather an awkward way to move the

Meanwhile I found and fixed the cause (a bug), Rich. See my later post how
to resolve the problem locally.

Lyx 2.1.2 same prob of other version. What is the problem?

2014-10-08 Thread renato
Hi,
updating my source.list (on Debian Jessie), I' ve installed the
version on object, with apt-get. So, I think the version is
really standard.

But, also with this version, I'm unable to create any
document.
I think the problem could be on the various path.

Can someone help me? I'm soo really discouraged :-(

TIA

Renato

I don't understand what you mean here. In debian Jessie, 2.0.6 is the
current version of LyX. They are well shy of 2.1.2.

You need to provide more information before anyone can help. What makes
you think it is a path problem? Debian is pretty good at getting that
set up correctly. What was your first error message.

You can send me questions off list. I don't use the debian version of
lyx since it is too outdated, but I have used debian and lyx for a long
time.

I don't use RCS integrated with LyX, but that command looks wrong - it
should be 'ci -q -u -i ...'

If RCS is installed, you shouldn't need any setup.

The issue seems to be due to a table. The file has been cut in the middle
of it!

I finally was able to use a lyx~ file.
