Thanks for the quick replies. Yes, I had a typo. It should be 2.3.1-1.

Do you mean 2.3.1-1?

I believe this is a bug in Qt that only shows up on mojave. We are
tracking it here:

I am using LyX 2.2.1-1 on macOS 10.14. I can no longer distinguish boldface
fonts from ordinary fonts in the LyX document, although they appear correctly
in the pdf output. This is the case both when I enter the bold face font by
hand or when I use an environment like Theorem. Is this a known issue? Do you
need an example? The problem is obvious even in a two word document with the
same word first in bold face and then not.

Hello,

This is a Qt bug:

We are not sure yet of what we can do about it.

Bold face in LyX

2018-10-05 Thread Hal Kierstead
All -

I am using LyX 2.2.1-1 on macOS 10.14. I can no longer distinguish boldface
fonts from ordinary fonts in the LyX document, although they appear correctly
in the pdf output. This is the case both when I enter the bold face font by
hand or when I use an environment like Theorem. Is this a known issue? Do you
need an example? The problem is obvious even in a two word document with the
same word first in bold face and then not.

Thanks,

Translation queries

2018-10-05 Thread Steve Hnizdur

Hi

I have two questions which are illustrated by the MWE attached. It is a
simple article class lyx file in German which has a local layout of

Format 66
Style XX*
LatexType Environment
LatexName XX*
LabelString   "Examples."
MarginFirst_Dynamic
LabelType Static
Preamble
  \theoremstyle{definition}
  \newtheorem*{XX*}{\protect\fred}
EndPreamble
LangPreamble
  \providecommand{\fred}{_(YY)}
EndLangPreamble
BabelPreamble
  \addto\captions$$lang{\renewcommand{\fred}{_(Case)}}
EndBabelPreamble
End

The png file shows how it looks on the screen. The first question I have
is how does lyx manage to translate the LabelString "Examples. " in the
local layout to "Beispiele" as shown on the screen? The Customisation
documentation says it uses the layouttranslations file, but this word
does not exist in this file only "Beispiel". If there is some clever
pluralisation then why does it not work with Remark and Remarks?

Secondly the \addto\caption in BabelPreamble does not get added to the
preamble and so in the final pdf attached the word "Case" is not
translated and used as the heading (even though "Case" does exist in
layouttranslations).

The customisation documentation says that such a line should be added.

Is this local to me? Or have I just misunderstood something?

I use Ubuntu 16:04 and Lyx 2.3.1

Re: Hello Problems [Windows 10, October Update, Version 1809]

I will see if it causes any problems with my LyX 2.3.1-1.

Hello,

After installing Windows 10 October Update 1809; it caused problems with my
graphics card and one structural analysis software. I had to re-install
graphics drivers and that software.

When it comes to LyX, it took about 10-15 to start and it started as if it is
freshly installed with the Wlecome to LyX page. It reset some of the
information such as open file list. I do not have user customization on my PC
so I do not know if those will be affected. So it may be a good idea to backup
LyX customization if there are any. I have tested a complicated LyX document
and it compiled just fine. I have checked MikTeX and it works fine as well.

My recommendation is: do not to install this update if you do not need it. I
had to do it on my PC for some other reasons. If you really need to install
this update , back up your LyX customization first as there is chance you may
loose them.
