I am suitably embarrassed for not seeing this; I assumed it was in a
standard environment and didn't check. Mea culpa!

Hopefully, such problems will be avoided in a future version of LyX.
Alas not in 2.4.

I had no expectation there would be distro installed files that weren't
removed when I removed the TL packages. Removing those remnant files
eliminated the error I got when running a document through pdflatex.

All's well now.

Several years ago I de-installed the distro-provided TeXLive and used
only TUG provided TeXLive (with tlmgr), and I've been very happy ever
since. My experience is that I got very weird intermittent
appearing errors when both were installed.

Backups are not written nearly as often as they should be

2023-06-21 Thread R. H. van der Gaag
Hi all,
I have LyX set up to make backups when saving and also make backups (the term
seems wrong for the automatic snapshots that these are) every two minutes. But
when I look at the directory those files are supposed to be written to, there
is a file there, but it not up to date, neither as an auto-saved snapshot nor
as duplicate (a backup proper) - it is older than it should be, up to over an
hour older sometimes. Am I overlooking something? I checked the path, and went
from using a Dropbox directory to using one on my SSD, but results are the
same. Before reporting this as a bug, I thought I should mention this here. I
am on LyX 2.3.7, on macOS 13.4, Apple Silicon chip.

Best,
RH

Daniel,

Not here. It's the trackball scroll ring when the Ctrl key is depressed.
Ctrl-scrool ring counter- and clockwise shrinks and expands the displayed
font.

Thanks,

Isn't this a zoom issue? What happens when you use Ctrl-plus ?

LyX 2.3.x, it's Alt-Plus for zoom in, Alt-Minus for zoom out, and Alt-0
for default zoom on (stable). Ctrl-Minus inserts a soft hyphen (as
common other word processors). In LyX 2.4 this will be changed.
