Uwe: Thanks for your interes. Another user solved my problem! In the LyX-Preferences menu, there is a Language setting options. Under spellchecker, selecting Use input encoding solvs the issue. But I don´t see how that would shorten the depth of paragraph numbering:. If I include a section, instead of having: 1.0.0.1 My text 1.0.0.2 Another paragraph I get: 1.1.0.1 <http://1.0.0.1/> My text 1.1.0.2 <http://1.0.0.2/> Another paragraph And what I want is: 1.1 <http://1.0.0.1/> My text 1.2 <http://1.0.0.2/> Another paragraph The thing is that every paragraph in the text must be numbered. Thanks
Change the depth of paragraph numbering in LyX 1.6
Hello: I am trying to change the depth of the paragraph numbering in LyX 1.6 but I have not been lucky. Paragraph numbering looks like this: 1.0.0.1 My text 1.0.0.2 Another paragraph I would like to have it like this: 1.1 My text 1.2 Another paragraph I tried inserting a TEX code \setcounter{secnumdepth}{2} at the beggining of the document, but the numbering disappears all together! I use LyX 1.6 for Mac. Any suggestions? Thanks * Fernando Díaz H, Ph.D. * Profesor de Economía y Finanzas Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales Universidad de los Andes (56 2) 412-9650 [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Avda. Problem referencing a figure
Hi: I have a problem with a cross reference to a figure in Lyx. I inserted the figure using Insert figure float, then insert grapichs and finally apply a label to it. Everything seems to be alright, but when I want to dvi it, i get the following message: LaTex Error: File 'prettyref.sty' not found. Has someone had a similar problem? I am using Lyx 1.5.6 on Woindows XP Thanks!
Trying to set an interrupted list in enumerate
Hello: I am a new LYX and Latex user and I am trying to setup an interrupted list in enumerate. I have been trying to understand how this can be done from the LYX on line documentation, but I really don´t understand what I have to do. For instance, in the following page: http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/Numbering it is adviced to a package like enumerate.sty. Is this package installed somehow? It also say that "There are several ways to accomplish this using the familiar LaTeX enumerate environment, all of which require using either ERT or the preamble." The problem is that I don´t even know what is an ERT! I would be most grateful if someone can help me getting started! I use Windows XP and LYX 1.5.6. My document class is an article (AMS) and I am uisng the sciword bind file. Thanks!!! Fernando Diaz
Something else with the lix installation
Hello again: Besides the error that I received when installing the software, when I try to open any of the help files, I get messages like this: The layout file requested by this document, book.layout, is not usable. This is probably because a LaTeX class or style file required by it is not available. See the Customization documentation for more information. LyX will not be able to produce output. However, the document loads afterwards, but it seems that I will not be able to see the Tex version. Help need with lyx installation
Hello: I ran into some troubles when trying to install lyx in my Macbook Pro. As suggested in the LyX/Mac wiki page, prior to installing lyx I installed finx (Fink 0.9.0 Binary Installer (PowerPC) from the following webpage: http://www.finkproject.org/download/index.php?phpLang=en). It seems that everything was installed just fine. After that, I installed lyx, but I got an error. This is the report that I got: 1. Removing obsolete files ... Done removing obsolete files. 2. Testing to see if old LyX user's folder should be moved to new location ... Done moving LyX user's directory to new location. 3. (No preferences file found at ~/Library/'Application Support'/LyX-1.5/.) 4. Installing default LyX templates • Successfully copied default templates to new user's directory ... Done installing default LyX templates. 5. Installing LyX's special LaTeX files • Found TeX installation at . • Local TeX directory set to ~/Library/texmf. • Installed LyX's additional LaTeX .cls and .sty files. *** ERROR: Cannot run texhash command. Please run manually. ... Done. I don´t know hot to run texhash manually. I am a new user to both Mac and Latex, so you can image that I do not know what to do!!! Anyways, lyx seems to be working fine, but I don´t know if the above error will cause any problems in the future. I would be most grateful if you can help me with this issue.
