Hi.

A spanish blogger have a repositories with LyX:

Besides, I've compiled LyX 2.0.0 for Ubuntu Lucid 64 following this tutorial

Is there any chance of seeing a .deb file appear for Ubuntu Lucid? So
far I relied on getdeb to get lyx updated, but it looks like getdeb has
somewhat dropped supporting lyx on lucid.

Of course Ubuntu has recent lyx packages but lucid doesn't meet their
 dependencies.

OTTH, I'm not so fond at compiling myself, and I see that even on the
lucid-bleed ppa, lyx 2.0.0 failed to build... not very encouraging.

I'm in no hurry to upgrade my Ubuntu. Has anyone successfully compiled
 lyx 2 under lucid 64?

TIA for any advice or experience report.

We are proud to announce the public release of LyX 2.0.0.

 Yay!!

With this release, LyX celebrates 15 years of existence, and we start
a new family of 2.x releases to acknowledge LyX's passing from a child
to an adult. We hope you will celebrate this anniversary with us.

LyX 2.0.0 is the culmination of two and half years of hard work. This
release begins a new series of 2.0.x which will incrementally improve its
 stability as the time passes.

An overview of the new features can be found here:
  http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/NewInLyX20

You can download LyX 2.0.0 from http://www.lyx.org/Download/ .

We hope you will enjoy the result!

The file RELEASE-NOTES lists some known issues and problems compared
to the current stable releases (LyX 1.6.x). We strongly recommend that
packagers of LyX on various platforms and distributions read this file.

As with any major release, this one comes with lot of new features but
also some bugs. If you think you have found a bug in LyX 2.0.0, either email
the LyX developers' mailing list (lyx-devel at lists.lyx.org), or open a bug
 report at http://www.lyx.org/trac/wiki/BugTrackerHome .

If you have trouble using LyX or have a question, consult the
documentation that comes with LyX (under Help) and the LyX wiki, which you
will find at http://wiki.lyx.org/ . You can also send email to the LyX users'
 list (lyx-users at lists.lyx.org).

There seems to be no documentation on the CAS link in the wiki documents...
wouldn't it be a good idea to link directly from the features page to a
place where more information can be found in the individual features?
Sometimes it can be difficult to find - or maybe it is absent?

From the web I can see that CAS in Lyx apparently is not working too well -
does anyone have an overview of this functionality in terms of how well it
works and if something is under development?

If you want more details, i am writing for tomorrow a simple manual

I hope this will be useful for you.

Using Qt Creator in addition to CMake (http://www.cmake.org/) is
probably the easiest way I've found to get up and running with a LyX
development environment.  All it involves is checking out the code,  to
opening a new project, and then clicking on the
development/cmake/CMakeLists.txt file.  Qt Creator will then configure,
compile and index your project for you.  And best of all, everything is
 free.

There are ways to get up and running with MS Visual Studio, but I'm not
nearly patient enough to figure them out.

 Cheers,

 In contrast, generating

 Just my two cents, though.

 I agree completely.
You can make a page with another program, save as pdf, and insert this pdf
