Hi, I want to use a hyperlink in a PDF output to a file on my hard drive. Using the hyperlink menu in LyX , what path format should be used to make that work? Not working is the path, e.g., H:\folder\file.pdf - translated to texcode this appears as \footnote{\href{file:H:\%5Cfolder\%5Cfile.pdf}{H:\textbackslash{}folder\textbackslash{}file.pdf}% } Anything wrong with my path format as input? Working with LyX2.0b1 on WinVista. /J.

LyX 2.0: spreadsheet
Opening the lyx 2.0file (downloaded from http://wiki.lyx.org/Examples/SpreadsheetExternalInset) with LyX 2.0 beta 1, LyX prompts the following error: lyx file not readable. Shouldn't the file be readable - or is an upgrade to beta2 needed here? The latter idea comes to my mind since there is no item Gnumericspreadsheet in the drop down list in the external material menu. Working on WinVista. /J.

But since you're on Win Vista, you'll probably need to wait for the beta3 binaries. I see. Thanx for your quick reply. /J.

Thinking about that a bot more, I am asking myself if everything needed comes shipped with LyX or is anything else needed to use the spreadsheet import feature? Working on WinVista. Another question which might be good to know in advance: How does LyX or the spreadsheet reporter know which part of the spreadsheet should be imported into the document? Just asking out of the mist - without the possibility to check myself while waiting for new beta versions. Thx - as always. Best, J.

doc class g-brief2: serial letters?
Hi, how can I use the serial letter feature, but with the output like with the doc class g-brief2? The serial letter examples shipped with LyX 2.0 beta1 have doc class letter (KOMA-script v.2). If I have to switch to another doc class, then I would like to keep the output format of my professional letters like with g-brief2. How can this be possible? As always, thanks for your help, guys! /J.

LyX config: change of MikTeX version?
Hi, I am installing the latest MikTeX version (2.9). What is to do to make LyX use the new version? Is it enough to change the path in the settings to C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.9\miktex\bin which would be pretty easy? Thx. /J.

Unfortunately the reconfig was aborted and the math symbols were not displayed any more ... so I switched back to MikTeX 2.8 again and I will wait for another possibility to uninstall LyX (2.0 beta1) and to install another LyX version. I suspect the installation routine automatically identifies the MikTeX distribution - without causing any problems. There remains a question: Let's suppose two MikTex versions are installed, does the LyX installation routine ask me which one I want to work with? ... just thinking. Thx. /J.

[LyX 2.0 beta1] multilangual docs more dictionaries?
Hi, writing a bilangual document (English and German) I would like to have corrections on the fly - in both languages. Which LyX configuration is needed to have this? Thx as always. /J.

How do I associate the language to the highlighted paragraphs? /J.

AW: [sweave] additional LaTeX package needed, but which one?
Liviu Andronic wrote: I'm surprised that LyX 2.0 ships an *sweave* beamer template. I have just double-checked: It seems to me that I must have simply taken a copy out of the version 1.6.8 template folder which I have saved somewhere on my hard drive. LyX prompts that sweave needs an additional LaTeX package not installed by MikTeX. How can I find out which package is missing? If you load the sweave module, it might be that LyX cannot find Sweave.sty. As a hack, you might want to copy this file from the R installation to the dir of your LyX file. To be honest I do not have any R installed. In my MikTeX folder there is no sweave.sty-file. In LyX I have just loaded the template beamer-sweave-template.lyx with the prompted error that some module is missing in the LaTeX installation. Isn't is possible to have a feature implemented to look for the missing LaTeX part? /J.
