lyx on Mac - blurred fonts

2014-10-05 Thread Tino Langer
Hi all,

I just installed lyx 2.1.2 on OSX 10.9.5, using MacTeX in background.

I’m a little bit confused because the font in the editor area and also the
icons at the toolbar are very blurred. Are there any options I have to change
to get antialiased fonts and clear icons?

Thanks a lot! - Tino

Glossary in Lyx

2014-04-01 Thread Tino Langer

Hello,

for my thesis I want to generate two indexes - one for 'abbreviations'
and one for 'formula symbols'. Currentlty I use the build-in solution
for nomenclature - so both types of entries are mixed in one index,
because there no solution exist to generate two different indexes with
this package.http://www.dict.cc/englisch-deutsch/abbreviations.html

Is it possible to use the glossaries-package with lyx _without_
exporting the lyx-file to .tex and to do all the latex-runs manually?
Each hint helps - many thanks! additionally - I use lyx 2.0.5.1 running
at Windows 7

'extended' glossary in lyx

2013-05-26 Thread Tino Langer

Hello,

I'm looking for a possibility to create a glossary with 3 columns
(formula, short description, description) using lyx . It it possible to
do this with lyx natively?

Googeling around I found the package glossaries - but using it I don't
get a glossary generated. It seems there are calls missing to generate
.gls-files on the base of .glo-files using makeindex.

perhaps a small example can help?

Hello Uwe,

I tried it with the following snippet of tex-code

\multicolumn{6}{|l|}{\cellcolor[gray]{0.7}HIER EIN TEXT}\tabularnewline
...

Here, \cellcolor[gray]{0.7} should be surrounded by an ERT. But in LyX
it isn't it. Have it to be marked as one command?

Many thanks - Tino

Problems using script 'fig2pdftex.py'

2010-08-21 Thread Tino Langer

Hello Lyx-Users,

I have some problems using .fig-files in my lyx document. Whenever I try
to compile my lyx-file I get an error message that there is an error in
the script-file fig2pdftex.py.

On the console i see the following message:
NameError: name `mkstemp` is not defined

On the dialog box in lyx I see:
Bei der Ausführung von
python -tt _some_path_/bin/../Ressources/s
ist ein Fehler aufgetreten.

I added the file fig2dev.exe file to path to get the script fig2pstex.py
running.

It seems that there are parts of python missing. Is there somebody out
there who can give mit some hints to get it working?

I use lyx 1.6.7 on windows. (no alt-installer)

lyx-1.5 beta 3 hanging file dialogs

2007-05-30 Thread Tino Langer

Hello,

I have some problems with my fresh installed lyx 1.5 beta 3. When I open
a dialog (open file, save file, insert image, ...) which uses
informations from filesystem (i.e. directory listing), die dialog hangs
for a while. It seems there is an timeout.

Is it possible, that the dialog is waitung to connect to network drives
(shared folders), which are currently not available? How to prevent this
behavior?

Many thanks for helpfull hints - Tino

problem (bibtex, makeindex) with lyx 1.5.0 beta1

2007-03-02 Thread Tino Langer

Hello,

I have some problems using Lyx 1.5.0beta. I want to use bibtex, but noch
bibliography is to see. And than I use a special style-file for my
index, but this file seems not to be used.

Are there known problems with bibtex and makeindex?

Using the same file with Lyx 1.4.4 - everything works fine to me.

thanks - Tino

compiling lyx-file

2007-02-16 Thread Tino Langer

Hello,

first - many thanks to make it possible to install lyx 1.4.4 on Windows
Vista! But now I have a problem to create an ps-file out of lyx. When I
export my lyx-file to plain tex, I get a line

\usepackage[.ou]{fontenc}

which results in an error. The .ou definition is not found. How can I
prevent the behavior?

Re: compiling lyx-file

sorry, it was my mistake. I do not know how, but in my lyx configuration
was set the value .ou for Tex-Encoding. Setting it to T1 solves the
problem.

nice day - Tino

problems installing lyx on windows vista

2007-02-07 Thread Tino Langer

Hello,

I just tried to install lyx on my windows vista. The first problem was
to install miketex out of the bundle-installer of lyx 1.4.3-5
(lyx-143-5-bundle.exe ) - an Windows API error occurs. a workaround for
this problem was to install miktex 2.5 stand alone and refer to the
existing installation while installing lyx.

But the second problem ist, that I can not start lyx. It seems to be
there is no python available. But I thought this application comes with lyx?

Are there any howtos out there how to install lyx on Windows Vista?

many thanks - Tino

The MiKTeX shipped with the last installer is not Vista-ready. The next LyX
version comes out next
week with an updated MiKTeX version.
Note that there are stil some restrictions to use MiKTeX under Vista:

ok - so I will wait - this is no problem :-)

But the second problem ist, that I can not start lyx. It seems to be

Don't you have a python.exe in LyX's \bin directory or somewhere else on
your computer?

No - I looked into the bin directory an found no python.exe file and I was
wondering

LyX is a great way to write beamer slides. Assuming that you are using
LyX 1.4.x, do the following. Locate miktex root
directory\tex\latex\beamer\lyx\layouts\beamer.layout, copy it, and put
the copy in C:\Documents and Settings\your login id\Application
Data\LyX1.4.x\layouts\. Then start LyX, run Tools-Reconfigure, exit
and restart LyX. Beamer should show up in the list of document types.
