Re: Re: exporting to rtf?
Thanks Paul, I did indeed do reconfigure and restarted LyX. LyX complains about the file with the following: The layout file requested by this document, apa.layout, is not usable. This is probably because a LaTeX class or style file required by it is not available. See the Customization documentation for more information. LyX will not be able to produce output. I confirm that I do have APA installed: $ kpsewhich apa.cls /usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/apa/apa.cls Perhaps apa.layout was included in the ubuntu 1.4.x package, but not in 1.5.1? Nothing about rtf in export either, I can see Rich Text Format in Export - Custom, but OK and Apply are ghosted. Actually both are ghosted for all the formates listed (See screenshot attached). Perhaps these issues are a packaging problem? If I knew how LyX was supposed to behave I could submit a bug report to ubuntu. Thanks for your efforts. B. Bogart Paul A. Try 'kpsewhich apa.cls' in a terminal window to see if you still have the APA class installed. If not, after installing it be sure to reconfigure and restart LyX. /Paul /div inline: Screenshot.png

Hi again, So I've upgraded to ubuntu gutsy (lyx 1.5.1) since my last email, and am having a few troubles. #1. I tried exporting as HTML, where most stuff works but not the bibliography. I suppose I would need to manually convert my PDF figures to png? You can try latex2rtf (LyX will recognize it when it is installed and provide an Export-RTF option). It's not perfect and the quality of the result depends on the content, but the new version that was released some days ago is not bad http://latex2rtf.sourceforge.net/ Jürgen
