 I use George Cameron's ps2epsi script when I want to convert from full

 file.ps, then

Don't use ps2epsi. Use ps2eps instead:

Thanks. I was wondering why there is ps2epsi but no ps2eps amongst the
Redhat and Debian GS-tools. Fooling lyx/latex to accept epsi's by calling
them *.eps always made me a little uneasy.

you can define a boundingbox of your eps image, and input it into
dialogbox of graph-insert (clipping, sorry if different). You can get the
boundingbox with postscript viewer like GSView (as I remember). LyX/LaTeX
will used this values. As I remember, if you put the cursor over the image
which is viewed by GSView, you will get a coordinate. You take this
coordinate to define boundingbox. I have normally used gv (on Unix) to
define a boundingbox...

I don't know if there is a program more easier to crop an eps image...
Distiller has probably capability to crop an eps image, I don't know...

$ ps2epsi file.ps file.eps

Any whitespace around text/graphics will be cropped automatically. The
output is actually epsi, which is an extension of standard eps, but it
seems to work like normal eps with lyx/latex and many other programs.
