I was wondering why there is ps2epsi but no ps2eps amongst the Redhat and Debian GS-tools. Fooling lyx/latex to accept epsi's by calling them *.eps always made me a little uneasy. -- Steven Homolya School of Physics and Materials Engineering Monash University, VIC 3800 Australia Tel: +61 3 9905 3694 Fax: +61 3 9905 3637

You can get the boundingbox with postscript viewer like GSView (as I remember). LyX/LaTeX will used this values. As I remember, if you put the cursor over the image which is viewed by GSView, you will get a coordinate. You take this coordinate to define boundingbox. I have normally used gv (on Unix) to define a boundingbox... I don't know if there is a program more easier to crop an eps image... Distiller has probably capability to crop an eps image, I don't know... Wayan

So export to file.ps, then $ ps2epsi file.ps file.eps Any whitespace around text/graphics will be cropped automatically. The output is actually epsi, which is an extension of standard eps, but it seems to work like normal eps with lyx/latex and many other programs.
