Lyx function allowing selection of layouts from minibuffer?
Dear All, I lost all my bindings while trying to figure out why my local toolbars parameters are not followed and now I can't remember which function allows you to select an environment (layout) from the minibuffer. I had it bound to M-p, so that the selection of the standard env would be M-p s, of the itemize M-P i, etc. I looked both in the wiki and in the docs, but cannot figure out the proper function. Most popular advice suggests to use the drop down list (with shortcuts), which I don't particularly like. Help is appreciated. The behavior I was expecting is due to the explicit and quite extensive list of layout bindings found in LYXDIR/bind/menus.bind Sorry for the noise. I don't think that this is possible in LyX 1.3.x, although you can change the contents of the Menubar and the Toolbar by copying ${PREFIX}/share/lyx/ui/default.ui to ${HOME}/.lyx/ui/my_interface.ui and editing it as you see fit. You'll also need to tell LyX where to find this new .ui file. You can do this from the Preferences dialog. In LyX 1.4.x, the default.ui file will enable you to customise the LyX Look Feel in the way you desire: # default.ui for LyX 1.4.x Include stdmenus.ui Include stdtoolbars.ui # Which toolbars to use. # # The second parameter are the flags : # # on: the toolbar is visible # off: the toolbar is not visible # math: the toolbar is visible only when in math # table: the toolbar is visible only when in a table # top: the toolbar should be at the top of the window # bottom: the toolbar should be at the bottom of the window # left: the toolbar should be at the left of the window # right: the toolbar should be at the right of the window # Toolbars standard on,top extra on,top table off, bottom math off, bottom minibuffer off, bottom End -- Angus

Hi, Surprisingly, I am not able to use minibuffer at all in 1.2.0. What can be the possibility and remedy??? Further, can anyone help me on how to define (1) a math macro, and (2) keybindings possibly in my personal directory. Thanks in advance S K Tomar
