I reinstalled LyX and now it works! 
Still vague what the problem was, I installed it now for everyone on the PC and
not only for myself (not much difference since I am the only user). But perhaps
that was the problem.

It's correct that Lyx thinks I am Admin and Documents folder is indeed on the D
partition. But the document itself is writed on the C Partion. That could be a
problem, I will look in to it. 
But Lyx was installed as Admin and I don't have any extra permissions on the
Computer. So should be able to write anywhere..

before it can write any further debug output.  The only things I noticed 
are that LyX thinks you are logged on as Administrator, and that it 
thinks your My Documents folder is on the D drive/partition.  If either 
is not correct, there might be a permissions or path problem somewhere.
I wonder if the hourglass might be LyX trying to do something in a 
directory to which it lacks access (so that it waits patiently for an 
event that will never happen)?
