tex2lyx and 1.3.6pre

Hi

I am aware that tex2lyx will be invoked as of 1.4.0 but wondered whether, as it 
is already stable and far more powerful than relyx, whether it might be added 
to the 1.3.6pre version. 

If not is there a reason for its exclusion.

Yes. LyX 1.3.6 is a bug fix release even if our definition of bug fix is 
being stretched by our support for LyX/Win. LyX 1.3.6 *will* ship with the 
1.4 version of lyx2lyx because we're confident that it doesn't contain any 
new bugs. That means that downgrading from a more modern .lyx file than 
those recognized by LyX 1.3.x (format 221) should be straightforward.


In other words, if you're confident in tex2lyx's abilities, then you should 
be able to use it painlessly with LyX 1.3.6. However, we're not going to 
make this happen out of the box.
