[M100] serial connection issue
I'm trying to load software downloaded from the internet. *Josh Malone* josh.malone at gmail.com *Sun Sep 9 14:15:11 PDT 2018* -- What's the actual thing that you are trying to accomplish? Why are you involving V-T?
[M100] Paladin Measuring System
That would be cool. It needs the ROM, but I haven't found much on it...not even a manual for it. Hello, Jesus - thanks, I didn’t realize it was for that purpose. I’d thought it was an analog-to-digital converter for measuring low-voltage analog signals. I love experimenting with things like that, but I’m wondering - is the device “unusable” without the ROM software? I have a REX and could conceivably download the ROM software if available somewhere, but I don’t have experience with that. (My REX is currently underutilized. I use it for backups and to help organize my files, mainly.) Best wishes, Anthony

Re: [M100] WTB: TPDD/2, REX, etc
Josh Malone writes: REX are more-or-less generally available from Greg at arcadeshopper.com. Several folks, including me, are building them in small batches; they may sometimes be out of stock, but stock will be replenished within 2 or 3 weeks usually. Oh, I know Greg. Should have just asked him first. The other stuff - I'm not aware of anyone having a regular stock for sale. It would be nice to find someone to make soft cases for the 100/102/200 - I've seen individuals who make other computer and peripheral cases. Yes, that’s typically the case with this sort of thing. Hoping someone on this list just has some extras they’d part with. -- Ian

Peter Noeth on this list makes the legs. I’ve purchased 2 sets from him. [M100] T100/T102
I appreciate the info. I have a small linear supply with a y-adapter and can place a plug inline that swaps the pins. This way I can power the drive and the computer at the same time. - Yes, center negative. - Yes, center is negative, the barrel is positive on my Tandy Portable Computer AC Adapter Cat no. 26-3804. 120vac input, 60 hz, 8 Watt. 6vDC output, 400 ma.

You use the pen to click on points on a drawing and it calculates perimeter, area, etc. what is it?

[M100] serial connection issue
Today I tested a different Windows computer running Virtual T and still no luck. I just can't push data from the PC to my T100/T102?

[M100] Paladin Measuring System
I recently bought a T102 from eBay. It came with a Paladin Measuring System (PMS), connection cable, soft carrying case, power cord, and light pen. The manual and option rom are missing and the unit has a bad orange cap inside. I don't need the PMS, but if any one wants its I'm willing to give it away if it goes to good home. I'll ship anywhere in the US. Please no resellers though.
Re: [M100] TPDD Cable / Mystery Component
The transistors are available at DigiKey as well.I had seen your parts list after I had sourced my parts.I modified it for this build.I also had removed the heat shrink because I had it on hand and it’s also often readily available locally.http://www.digikey.com/short/j20td4 This list brings the DigiKey parts cost to under ten bucks. -- Original Message -- From: Brian White To: m...@bitchin100.com Sent: September 9, 2018 at 4:34 AM Subject: Re: [M100] TPDD Cable / Mystery Component This looks great. What we've needed for a long time. I had put together a pre-loaded digikey cart to build a marty goodman cable, but this will be better. I found "dupont" style connectors with crimp on pins, and a polarity key that fits in the drive. I never found the metal encased plug like the original, but that one isn't keyed anyway, the key is formed in the outer vinyl molding. http://tandy.wiki/TPDD#Parts On Sat, Sep 8, 2018, 6:56 PM CHARLES SHEARmailto:rdsh...@comcast.net)>wrote: > > Whoops, LOL.https://rsmicro.wordpress.com/ > > > On September 8, 2018 at 5:06 PM Brian > > Whitemailto:bw.al...@gmail.com)>wrote: > > > > I'm definitely interested. > > > > On Sat, Sep 8, 2018 at 3:27 PM CHARLES > > SHEARmailto:rdsh...@comcast.net)>wrote: > > > > > > Based on the information I read in Marty Goodman's write up on his cable > > > disassembly and reverse engineering, I have come up with a variation of > > > his design that definitely is working with my 100, 102, and TPDD.I don't > > > know if it's been discussed since Marty did his work back in '89, but > > > based on his description, I may have found his "tiny rectangular > > > components"with the "designation "14" on them". > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I don't know if photo's are allowed in this mail list, so I'll just post > > > a link to a blog I setup real quick to explain my thoughts and show the > > > cable design I came up with. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Let me know what you think, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Rick > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > -- > > bkw
Re: [M100] TPDD Cable / Mystery Component
The OEM cable was an original cable from a TPDD. -- Original Message -- From: John R. Hogerhuis To: m...@bitchin100.com Sent: September 8, 2018 at 9:37 PM Subject: Re: [M100] TPDD Cable / Mystery Component Interesting work, Rick. The OEM cable you mention, is that a vintage OEM cable, or something being manufactured today? As to photo's, they're allowed if you don't hit the size limit. Generally you need to use imagemagick or something to really shrink them down. Sometimes people go to the trouble. Otherwise, links to web content are the easiest way. The email size limit is to accommodate users with lower bandwidth. -- John.
