Re: [M100] Back in the hospital yet again

2020-11-09 Thread JIM FARLEY
Gee golly, Ken, get that sucker fixed.
I had a series of angina attacks in, I think 2002, none really severe, that
went away after a few minutes.  Then one day it did not quit.  No real pain,
just discomfort.  No breathing problems, just an uncomfortable feeling after a
little exercise, like carrying luggage up the steps into a train.  Went to the
hospital, the next day had an angiogram, angioplasty, and stent insertion.  I
watched it on the monitor.  Since then no problems, my Cardiologist checks me
each year and says 'you are good to go."
Good luck!  Go for it and I have you in my prayers.

 Hey gang,

Well I’m back in the hospital again with angina and shortness of breath.
Hopefully it will be just. A couple of days for a stent or two and then home
again.  Will let you know.

Good luck, Ken.  I have you in my prayers.
I had a similar adventure back in 2004.  I had a little pain in my left upper
arm (I thought at first it was from lifting luggage for Linda and me onto the
Amtrack trains on a trip).  At the local hospital, they could not find anything
wrong, but the cardiologist wanted to take me to Emory Midtown (Atlanta) and on
Monday morning I got the angiogram/angioplasty/stent procedures in an artery in
the back of my heart.  I've been running hard since and I'm 82 now and feeling
fine.  The current medical care is great and still improving.  I'm sure you
will do fine.  Just let us know when you get out.

 Hey Gang,

I had to come to the hospital again on Wednesday because of cardio
issues.  After the angiogram yesterday, the Dr. told me I need bypass
surgery, which they will schedule for sometime early next week.  I'm
still hanging out here while waiting, which is kinda why I have time to
send emails on the list :)

Just wanted everyone to know in case things don't go well and you never
hear from me again, at least you will know what happened. Only a small
chance of that though ... they do a LOT of open heart surgery per day
here (successfully), so they are pretty good at it.

Re: [M100] Dust Covers

Back in the 'old days', the late 1970s thru early 1990s, at the telcom company
for which I worked, we used translucent plastic computer covers which would
protect the computer/terminal if the overhead sprinklers went off.  I don't
remember dust being a major concern.

Did some more checking and looks like the Budlongs are longer in California.
Seems all four: Mo, Helen, Victoria, and Mo Jr, are in Las Cruces, NM. I have
yet to find an address there. I did find what looks to be Victoria's Facebook
page at (https://www.facebook.com/victoria.budlong), if someone would like to
try and contact her/them there. I don't use FaceBook myself.

Greetings from Sunny Southern California!
I have had several inquiries of late regarding the book " The Secrets of
ROM
Revealed" by Mo Budlong, and will be getting more printed in the next few
days. If you want a copy, please contact me at 818-951-5240, so that know
how
many to get printed.

A review of the book is in the M100 Magazine linked below.

(ftp://ftp.whtech.com/club100/doc/p100-8904.pdf)

Briefly:
You can put programs on a ROM to extend your code space by up to 32K, but
you need to know how to make these new programs work with the existing
Model 100
operating system. Secrets of ROM Revealed tells you everything you need to
know  to build ROM based programs for the Model 100, 102, 200, NEC 8201.

Tomorrow, Monday, being Pi Day, I suppose that it is precisely at 0159 (1:59

Is that correct, Ron Weisen? Or does the '0' mess it up? Jim Farley, KG4FXV

Sounds like a job for a 3-D scanner and a 3-D printer.  I do not have one (yet)
but maybe a list member does.

Ugh. I'm like pedantic about this sort of stuff :P   I put a piece of tape on
it for the time being, but it drives me nuts. Haha, hopefully someone has one.

Mine has broken twice. Rick Hanson was nice enough to send me one after the
first one broke, but that one broke too. I used tape to make mine hold. It's
not pretty, but it works.
