[M100] Recovering in hospital still Hey gang,Just wanted to give an update
after my operation.  The procedure had a few complications like leaky sutures
(causing a 2nd surgery a several hours after the main bypass), etc.  I’m still
in the hospital waiting for resolution of the last complication  but in general
doing well.  May get out in a day or two.KenSent from my iPhone

I'm keeping my eye out on eBay of course, but I figured I'd also ask here:
Does anyone happen to have a Booster Pak that you would be interested in
selling?
I've been interested in having one of these on hand for quite some time.  I'll
pay handsomely for one if there's one you don't really use anymore.
Thanks,

I still have an M102 + Rex + NADSBox still available. I feel offers have been
quite low given the original cost of the NADSBox, so I may just list this on
eBay and let the market set the price. I’ll likely do that this weekend if
folks want to bid. I’ll post here when it goes live.

I also have an untested (but looks like new) DVI available. It did not come
with the required cable or software when I purchased it, and I never got around
to building or buying a cable and finding the software to test it.

Thanks for your interest.

(Oh, and if any of you are also interested in the CoCo, I’ll have a nice CoCo 3
setup with MPI (modified for CoCo 3 compatibility), dual dsdd floppy, CoCoSDC
and RGB to VGA adapter going soon too. Email me off list if interested.)

If you want to bring the drive over at some stage I can test on my model 100. I
also have spare cables for the drive and I have null modem cable as well that
works as well. Can also try the drive with TDOS as well.

Evening all,

Firstly, apologies for the lack of response. "Real life" and all that... (and
other computers in my collection taking my attention)
I'll try and find a 25->9pin serial adapter (dont have any machines with a
25pin Serial port around) and give that a go.

Given NADSboxes are N/A - what other options are there for data transfer in the
modern age?

[M100] Hello and a TPDD Question
Firstly - G'Day from Canberra.

I've recently added a beautiful old M102 to my collection. Complete with a
matching printer and a TPDD. However (I'm assuming at least) because the
machine was off for so long, the memory has reset itself back to original and
wiped the TPDD utility.
I also get the impression that the required Disk to reload it can only be
duplicated from another copy, on a machine with a TPDD?
(Mines the first model, by the way)

Cheers,
Jase.

Run the program REXU.
Looks like you are doing the 4.7 upgrade.
I recommend going straight to 4.9.
4.9 is a full wipe and rebuild.

I am up to step 4 and when I do this just tells me Ok and that is it.

What am I doing wrong ?

 Steps to a happy upgrade

 1. Start the upgrade from a cold booted laptop. While not necessary, it
ensures the laptop is working nominally with no lurking problems. If you have
important data please save your current RAM image to REX, and then to TPDD if
 needed.

 2. Regarding your saved RAM images with important data saved within - please
back those up to an external TPDD device using the SAVE function. In case
there is a problem, you will be glad you did - it will ensure your data is
safe should the REX directory get garbled. This takes only a few minutes.

 3. Download the upgrade package, and place the 2 files in your favorite TPDD
device or emulator so they are accessible to the LAPTOP.

DELETE ANY PREVIOUS COPIES OF http://REXU1.CO –[]\\’
and REX147.BR

 4. Upload the program REXU1.CO to the laptop. Issue the command CLEAR0,59960
in BASIC so that REXU1.CO can run.

 5. At the prompt, press Y to save your current SYSTEM to TPDD. It is
recommended that you save your existing image just to be safe. Keeping the
system image allows you to revert to that if something unforseen happens
during the upgrade. Provide a unique filename (something like REXBAK to
safely identify the system image backup.

 6. At the prompt, proceed to upgrade the software image by pressing Y, or
quit the application using N, Q or ESC. (N, Q and ESC are equivalent).
Confirm your intention to upgrade the system by confirming with Y at the next
prompt, or abandon using N. If you confirm the upgrade, the upgrade process
will proceed by erasing the first 16k of the system image, containing the
system software, and replacing it with the binary image REX147.BR stored on
 TPDD.

Be careful to keep the laptop powered up during the flash process!

REXU will load the new software into block 0, and copy the software to block
1, then it will restart REXMGR to complete the installation.

 DONE!
