You and I talked way way way back in the days via phone. It's been quite a
while, but I have a good memory.

Sorry, I was just making a point. Didn't mean to stir up an awquard
feeling. You asked me if I knew, and I said no. that seemed to be the
logical thing to do was get him, or someone else to help you look.

If you're angry at my comment, I'm sorry, dono what to tell ya.

I think it does. This is why I baught text expander when it was on sale.
You can have it insert a delimiter or not when expanding.

Good luck.

Adrian,

It really depends on the app. Most 95% of the time, all that you need to do
is find it in your applications directory through your finder, then press
command+delete on it. This should move it to the trash.

Beware that this may or may not totally remove it. It depends on if there
are preference files left behind.

I personally recommend that you go to google, and do a search for an app
called App Trap. I've found that it does the work of removing all those
preferences files, if you want to do that as well. Otherwise, it's kind of
hit and miss.

In fact, it's one of the apps I personally most prefer having.

Ok, try this. from anyware in the finder type cmd shift G. Note that also
works in the open dialogue as well.

afterwhich type in the following path. Copy and paste this line
~/library

It does to have to be upper case.

Now find preference pains, and find the no sleep one. I do a cmd option f
to search for no sleep.

After you do that hit cmd back space to move it to the trash.

Btw I would not recommend no sleep because of the way the ventilation
system is designed. You will melt your mac in to scrap if not careful.

Take care.

OK, let me grab my IPhone so I can talk you through this correctly...

1. Go to Settings.

2. Double tap on General.

3. Double tap on Keyboard.

4. Double tap on Shorttcuts

5. Double tap on add, which is in the top right corner, yes you can flick
to it if needed.

6. Now you're in the phraise field, so simply type in your e-mail address
in completion.

7. Next, double tap in the Shortcut optional field, then type in
something

like GPEM or whatever you want to type to expand to your address.

8. Now, upper right corner, double tap on save.

There you go.

Now, to make this work and test it out, put yourself into a text field.
Doesn't matter where, just get focus moved inside one. Now type your
shortcut text. You'll need to then afterward hit the space bar. It won't
expand until you do so.

Glenn,

You are! aware, are you not, that if you don't like typing your e-mail
address, you can set up a shortcut, so you would type for example, GPEM,
which stands for Glenn's personal E-mail. Then, once you hit the space
bar, it would expand to your entire e-mail address.

Let me know if you'd like some help setting this up.

Hi,
I was just wondering, from the users of the Be My Eyes app on IOS.
Should one have to put in their eMail and password each time we use it?
For those who have difficulty typing on their device, it makes it
useless,
and I'm not fond of typing in my eMail and password each time I use it.
I have worked with others to use it successfully, and they have had to
enter
their information each time.
I tried mine today, and it has been so long since I used it, I don't
even

remember which eMail account I used on it.
Thanks for any feedback.

2015-03-28 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
Sarah, I'm not doubting you at all, but I don't seem to be able to feel any
air coming out at all where you described. Is it something you really do
have to concentrate to feel? I know it's not gonna feel like a leaf blower,
LOL! god forbid, but I literally feel nothing. Could it just be that my
sence of feel is not sensitive enough to notice it? I do find that my hands
are not always the most sensitive, so that could admittedly be the case.

My macs have gotten warm, yes, but never to the point of over heating. The
only time that happened with me was once when running a private seed beta of
OSX, but being those seeds are governed by NDA, that's really all I can say
regarding that.

Again, I don't doubt you. I'm simply just saying I can't feel anything when
I try, and was wonderring if it's normal that I may not. Should it be quite
easy to tell?

Ok, try this. from anyware in the finder type cmd shift G. Note that
also works in the open dialogue as well.

afterwhich type in the following path. Copy and paste this line
~/library

It does to have to be upper case.

Now find preference pains, and find the no sleep one. I do a cmd option
f to search for no sleep.

After you do that hit cmd back space to move it to the trash.

Btw I would not recommend no sleep because of the way the ventilation
system is designed. You will melt your mac in to scrap if not careful.

Take care.

You are! aware, are you not, that if you don't like typing your e-mail

which stands for Glenn's personal E-mail. Then, once you hit the space

Let me know if you'd like some help setting this up.

 Hi,
I was just wondering, from the users of the Be My Eyes app on IOS.
Should one have to put in their eMail and password each time we use it?
For those who have difficulty typing on their device, it makes it useless,
and I'm not fond of typing in my eMail and password each time I use it.
I have worked with others to use it successfully, and they have had to
 enter
 their information each time.
I tried mine today, and it has been so long since I used it, I don't even
remember which eMail account I used on it.
 Thanks for any feedback.

When you hit the space, does it insert a space too?

OK, let me grab my IPhone so I can talk you through this correctly...

1. Go to Settings.

2. Double tap on General.

3. Double tap on Keyboard.

4. Double tap on Shorttcuts

5. Double tap on add, which is in the top right corner, yes you can flick
to it if needed.

6. Now you're in the phraise field, so simply type in your e-mail address
in completion.

7. Next, double tap in the Shortcut optional field, then type in something
like GPEM or whatever you want to type to expand to your address.

Chris.

Re: [Mac-access]: does any one know howi canuninstall aappfromthemac?

2015-03-28 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland

So guys,

He called me up on Skype, and I tried helping him. I think we have a bigger
issue going on though than just removing No Sleep.

It's not even letting us open up his Preference Paynes directory, whereby we
could delete the No Sleep payne out of there. I've suggested he run a disk
permissions repair.

It's really bizarre, as He can get to the preference paynes directory just
fine, but when he tries openning it up with right arrow, command+down arrow,
or command+o, either of the three methods, it's just bonking at us. Yes, he
was interacting with the browser, and we tried both in column view, as well
as list view. Neither are working.

I tried on my macbook pro which has No Sleep installed, just to see if I
could replicate the problem, and I can't seem to be able to duplicate it on
either Mavericks, or on Yosemite. I tried with two different mac systems.

I'm totally baffled at this point. The only thing I can think to have him
do is a disk permission repair. Do you all agree, at this point, that might
be in order?

Chris.

Hi,
I was just wondering, from the users of the Be My Eyes app on IOS.

Subject: [Mac-access]: Be My Eyes App

 Hi,
I was just wondering, from the users of the Be My Eyes app on IOS.

Actually, her name was Kristin. We got married, but then one year later,
she filed for divorce. It's a long story. I'd rather not go into it.
We'll just say that the marriage would have inevitably fallen apart
eventually had it not when it did. This is getting off topic bigtime, so
I'll end it here, but we'll just leave it finally to say, it wasn't pretty.
there is extremely bad blood against me now with her family, which is
unfortunate.

while, but I have a good memory.

Sorry, I was just making a point. Didn't mean to stir up an awquard

logical thing to do was get him, or someone else to help you look.

If you're angry at my comment, I'm sorry, dono what to tell ya.

OK, let me grab my IPhone so I can talk you through this correctly...

1. Go to Settings.

2. Double tap on General.

3. Double tap on Keyboard.

4. Double tap on Shorttcuts

5. Double tap on add, which is in the top right corner, yes you can
flick
to it if needed.

6. Now you're in the phraise field, so simply type in your e-mail
address
in completion.

It
won't
expand until you do so.

Glenn,

You are! aware, are you not, that if you don't like typing your e-mail
address, you can set up a shortcut, so you would type for example,
GPEM,

which stands for Glenn's personal E-mail. Then, once you hit the
space
bar, it would expand to your entire e-mail address.

Let me know if you'd like some help setting this up.

Re: [Mac-access]: does any one know how i can uninstall a app from themac?

2015-03-28 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland

Oh, OK, OK. you're using No Sleep.

OK, that is a preference payne, so that will actually be slightly different
than what I told you initially. I still would look into getting App Trap
though. I don't recall if it's free. I don't think it is. I think it was
like... 99 cents. Very very worth it though.

Go to:

~/Library

Notice, this is your user library... tilde slash Library, with a cap L.

If you're in your finder, just hit Command+Shift+G, then type in:

~/Library

then hit return.

In here, look for a folder called Preference Paynes

Be very very careful. You're not wanting the folder simply called
Preferences.

The folder again that you want is called Preference Paynes.

In this folder, locate No sleep. Then hit command+delete, and move it to
the trash. Most likely, you'll have to enter your administrator password.

Also, be sure that the app isn't running in your menu extras prior to doing
this.

vo+M M, or you can just hit ctrl+F8. Either one works.

Then just vo+right arrow over through your menu extras and be sure it's not
there, if it is! there, vo+space on it, then vo+down arrow to exit, quit, or
whatever they call it, then hit vo+space on that option.

You probably won't need to then reboot, but if things start behaving weird,
then just hit ctrl+command+eject, and reboot the machine.

maybe 2-300 people who used it. If you do need to enter in yoru info I guess
contact the developers/ they watch apple vis.

 Good luck.

 Hi,
I was just wondering, from the users of the Be My Eyes app on IOS.
Should one have to put in their eMail and password each time we use it?
For those who have difficulty typing on their device, it makes it useless,
and I'm not fond of typing in my eMail and password each time I use it.
I have worked with others to use it successfully, and they have had to enter
 their information each time.
I tried mine today, and it has been so long since I used it, I don't even
remember which eMail account I used on it.
 Thanks for any feedback.
