Another question about pages

2014-10-10 Thread Marcos Rodrigues
Good morning all:

Firstly, I’d like to let you know that I was able to find the old version of
the document that I was looking for and asked here how to proceed.

Now, I have a couple of questions: how do I put a double space between lines
(in previous versions of pages, this option was on the inspector but I can not
find it there anymore). And how do I put page numbers on the document?

Regards.

Hello Marcos,

To adjust line spacing, go to the Formatter and select Style. You’ll find what
you need in the scroll area.

As for adding a page number, decide where you want your page number to be then
interact with that area. I tried with the right-hand side of the header. Once
in the right place, go to the Insert menu and choose Page number. After this,
the page numbers will be inserted automatically in the same place.

Cheers,

Anne

 Hello everybody

The responses are still flooding in with requests to remain subscribed. That
is just excellent, many thanks to all of you who have written to us.

This post is just to let you know what will happen when Gordon creates the
new group. As you’re subscribed to it, you will be sent an Email just as you
were when you joined the group. Despite this, please don’t start posting to
the new address until we tell you that it’s operational. Further, there will
be a short outage of service. This is inevitable as Gordon changes the DNS
settings for the domains over to the new servers. Usually, your provider will
pick up the change quite quickly; but it isn’t unknown for it to take between
12 and 24 hours for it to happen with some of the most rigid providers whose
DNS systems only poll one of the 13 global NS systems once or twice a day. In
the norm, however, it only takes a matter of minutes.

Also, it is possible that, if you have used the group at one address in the
same session as it changes to a new one, you may get an outage until you
reboot. This is because most systems retain temporary caches of name servers
and IP addresses so that they don’t have to keep continually polling the
provider’s servers. This happens behind the scenes and, unless you know how
to disable or modify this behaviour in your operating system’s IP stack
rules, there isn’t much that you can do about it other than rebooting.

Anyway, please don’t panic if you see new subscription messages but mail
bounces or other odd things happen. Things will settle themselves down
eventually and I will make a point of writing to each and every one of you to
tell you when the change-over is complete. Please know that we do care about
our members and we will make this transition as seamless as possible for
 everybody.

 Warmest regards

 Lynne

To check on the line spacing, select all (Cmd-a) and open the inspector. Make
sure you're on the Text inspector with the Text option selected. Navigate
right until you hear Color Alignment, then navigate down to Line. Below
this you'll find a percentage and to the right of that, if you're in double
line spacing, it will say 2.

To change the font, press Cmd-t to open the Fonts palette. Jump to the first
table using VO-Cmd-t and select the collection list. Select All Fonts in this
table, then jump to the next table and type the letters ti to get quickly
to Times. Times new Roman is the next one down for me.

Having selected the font you want, just press Cmd-t to hide the Fonts palette
again. Press one of the arrow keys to unselect all the text and check that
the font has changed using VO-t.

Questions about pages-urgent

2013-02-09 Thread Marcos Rodrigues
Good evening all:

I need to send my assignment to my teacher tomorrow so I need urgent help.

I am using pages to do the assignment and have lots of questions: firstly, how
can I rename the document that I saved with the wrong name?

Second, I need to use a double space between lines but can't find this option
in the formatting menu, how can I do this?

Final question, how can I make VO read the type of letter (arian, times, etc)
that I am using?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

Re: Questions about pages-urgent

2013-02-09 Thread Marcos Rodrigues
Thanks James, I think it worked but am not sure.

Is there a way to check if the lines are double-spaced now?

Another question, how do I change the type of letter I am using (I want to use
times new but VO just says I am using something called taoma)…

Cheers.

In the File menu, you'll find an option called Rename.

Second, I need to use a double space between lines but can't find this option
in the formatting menu, how can I do this?
Firstly, make sure that you've selected your document with Command+A, or the
 bits that you want double-spaced.

The key to Pages is not the menus. It is the Inspector.

 1. Command+Option+I to launch the inspector.
 2. Navigate to the Text tab and press VO+Space
 3. The Text option should be selected by default, but if not you'll find it
next to the lists option. VO+Space to select it.
 4. You'll find a slider labelled Line Spacing in this window. If you VO
right from here, you'll eventually find an option that says Single Line
Spacing. There is a pop-up menu here. When you open this with VO+Space, you
an choose Double-space from the available options.
 5. Close the inspector and your document should now be double-spaced.

Final question, how can I make VO read the type of letter (arian, times, etc)
 that I am using?
Make sure that you are interacting with the document, VO+Shift+space. You an
then press VO+T to hear the font your document is written in.

 Hope this helps
 Take care

Has someone used this website to record its own voice?

Help with Adob Digital Editions

2013-01-17 Thread Marcos Rodrigues
Hi friends:

I have just download this app and have lots of question about its use.

I purchased a book and am trying to read it.
Firstly, I have the chapters of the book inside a table but can not read each
chapter individually. Is there a way to do it?
I can just read the book if I select a page that I want to read, can not choose
a chapter (for example, chapter one) and read it.

When I select a page, VO reads it continuously, I did not find a way of reading
line by line, word by word or letter by letter, for example, if I want to know
how a word is written, I did not find a way of going to this word and checking
its spelling even though my rotor is set to caracteres. Interacting with the
page doesn't work either.

If I want to read just some parts of a page, without reading since the
beginning of it, does not seem possible either, any idea of how to do it?

Regards.

Find the file in Finder, press command-I to open the info page, and VO-right
till you hear the open with piece. There will be an application
mentioned--MS-Word or whatever your current default is--and if you VO-space
on it you'll be in a menu of applications. Pages should be on the list, so
pick it, and VO-space again. Then VO-right over to the change all item and

RE: iPhone not showing up in itunes

2011-12-04 Thread Marcos Rodrigues

Hi:

I had exacly the same problem and discovered, don't know how, that the IPhone
drivers were not up to date.
Then, I just followed the steps given by the help menue and was able to solve
the issue.

Regards.

 Hi John,

My friends have two macs and two iPhones and having the same problem on both
systems. I've pretty much ruled out it being a cable issue as iPhoto works.
Also strange that this was first noticed right after updating to Snow
Leopard. Both were running Leopard until recently.

As they are all ready running the latest iTunes where do I send them to re
instal iTunes again? I've never reinstalled iTunes before just updated.

 These tips are greatly appreciated.

  Hello Listers,

If anyone has had this happen I'd appreciate tips on how to get iTunes to
  recognize the phone.

The situation is that good friends of mine that often share iPhone tips
and help are now having the following problem

They updated to Snow Leopard from Leopard. Now when they plug in their
iPhone 4 to the computer iPhoto recognizes that a phone is there but in
iTunes it does not show up. I had them restart their computers and restart
their phones but it did not change the problem.

Also we did google and looked on the Apple site but we didn't find a
answer. in most cases the help areas just assumed that when you plug in
the phone to the computer it will show up in devices. Nothing was
mentioned about what to do if that doesn't happen!

I've bragged about how helpful this list is so I'm pushing the limits here
to see if I can help them. I owe them for mush Apple help and would love
to give back. In fact when my Mac Book showed up new in the box it was
these friends who helped with my first big problem. that was... Finding
the darn start button. That thing can be really hard for a newbie to find!
