Hi all. I left the power chord of the mac mini at school, and would
like to know if anyone can tell me if I can use another type of chord
that could still work with the mac.

2015-03-21 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
I agree. Like, has anyone noticed that you also can use the same charger on
either a polycarbon macbook, or a macbook pro? They're both
interchangeable. Let me be very very very very clear though, don't, and I
repeat, don't! attempt mix matching a macbook air cord with a regular
macbook of any! type, or vice versa. If it even fits at all, you'll be
subject to a possible boom, followed by rizzle d tizzle.

Normally, you'd be 100% correct on this. However, a mac mini cord isn't
anything propriatary. It's just a standard electrical cord, with the rubber
insolated end on the oppisit side. Kind of like what you'd see on an old

You were very luckey, I once plugged in a cable that I thought would charge
my Braille 'N Speak and it distroyed it and cost me £100 sterling to have it
repaired about 10 years ago!!! That was a lot of money at the time. It did
fit but it belonged to a 4 track tape recorder. Personally I would be very
weary of using another cable unless I was absolutely confident.
