Re: Any recommendations on a good headset for broadcasting?

2013-07-13 Thread Krister Ekstrom
Hi,
I'm about to heed your advise and get a Blue-microphones snowball, what would
you suggest in terms of good, not so expensive headphones? If it wasn't for the
fact that the built-in microphone on my Koss IPorta pro would start and there
seems to be no way of bypassing it, i'd use it, but it can't be bypassed since
it goes on the head phone jack in some way, so wonder what would be a good not
so expensive head phone to use?

It should work on a mac preferrably in usb mode.

Many of us use a combination of VueScan and ABBYY FineReader because it's
easier to scan multiple pages with VueScan then pass the file containing
multiple images to FineReader for the OCR. ABBYY FineReader is available in
the Appstore and will work directly with a scanner, but VueScan has to be
 purchased from the developer at:
 www.hamrick.com

You can use VueScan without a license but it leaves a watermark which
 upsets ABBYY FineReader.

Re: Skype on i phone

2013-07-13 Thread BBS
Hi Jean. To put it bluntly, you can't add another contact to a call with Skype
on the iPhone. I suggest to anyone that wants this feature implemented to bug
the Skype team because we should be able to do it on both our computers and our
iPhones. I would be one of those people to do it but I can't use Skype on mine
anyway because I have an iPhone 3GS that I bought from someone since my 4 got
lost when I was in the hospital. It was with another phone company that wasn't
mine when I got it so I had to take it in to a shop that specializes in
unlocking those things. Little did I know that unlocking it meant that the guy
had to jailbreak it and downgrade the thing to iOS4.1. I asked the Viphone list
if I could upgrade it without losing the unlock but unfortunately no because my
model only lets me upgrade to the latest iOS which, as we know, there's no
jailbreak for it. Oh well, I do plan on saving up for a 4S because iOS7 won't
be supported on the 3GS and I really want to play with it when it comes. Lol.

exactly right! we all fell for the cheap price. Turns out it was just a
hardcopy backup DVD without any lisence key. I followed the bouncing ball,
went to the VMWare site, and bought a lisence for Fusion. I used that key to
activate the VMWare program and everything went smooth as warm milk through
a puppy. I've got Windows7 installed and up and running and I'm very happy
with VMWare and Windows7. Too bad about the extra cost of the hard copy DVD
- let that be a lesson to me, you can't get something for nothing (or next
to nothing), and there'll always be someone (Dell in this case) ready to
cash in on our something for nothing fever.

So, the upshot is: I spent, with shipping, $72 for something that would have
only cost around $50.

While the Mac will recognize your headset, you will need to go in to your
sound prefs window and change to that headset.

 Hey guysHey guys,

OK, wondering the best way to handle this. I have a usb headset that
I use a lot, and sometimes I'll need to plug it in quickly, and switch to
 it.
When I plug it in, will the mac just automatically switch over to it?
What's the best way to go from the mac speakers to my headset quickly
 and easily?

 Thanks,
 Jed

If you want to check out Fusion5 on their website, follow this link.

on that page is a link buy fusion5 now. take your time and you'll have no
trouble making the purchase. Make sure to buy Fusion5, not fusion5
proffessional (you don't need it).
