It appears my email address is not registered at Infovox, Even hough I installed and am using the American Heather female voice. Maybe they give a free voice at first. It was some time ago, and I probably need to register. The bright site developers placed a captcha I cannot solve on there. I'll report back on how I resolve this one. Re: Reply to sender
Well, you could simply erase the text in the to field by backspacing over it and then paste the email address in that field. This way you don't have to involve the body of the message at all. Another method assumes you always use quoted text when replying. I start a reply, then go down to the area with the date and the email address of the message I'm replying to and copy the email address from that spot in the body of the message instead of the header. Then I paste it into the to field. HtH, teresa On Aug 15, 2013, at 10:41 PM, Antonio M. I currently interact with message headings, then select the email address, copy it, open the message, paste the email to the body of the new message, edit it for extra characters, and move it over to the to field. This probably takes about two minutes. There has to be an easier way. Antonio -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Re: Big problems with the Mac App Store for me.
Hi Maurice The dialog box to sign in to the Mac App Store, generally comes in front of the window you're using to purchase your application. Your Apple ID is already there, tab through until you hear password, then tab again, it should say edit box interact with that, then type your password. Review: The Limeade 18000 MAH battery pack: a lot of power for the money
below is a review I wrote concerning the product mentioned in the subject. I tried to describe it as best I could for those who cannot see pictures of it. taken from: http://www.applevis.com/accessory-reviews/miscellaneous/limeade-18000-mah-battery-pack-lot-power-money Introduction The Limeade line of products come in many different sizes to suit your needs. They have a few packs, ranging in size from the $25 5000 MAH battery pack to the $99 18 MAH battery pack. You can look at all the different models to compare for yourself by searching Amazon for Limeade. This specific review only covers the 18 MAH version. The higher the number, the more it costs, but also the larger the device and more juice you get to power your devices. Description The 18000 MAH version of this pack measures 4.9 x 3.1 x 0.9 inches and weighs 13 ounces. TO give an idea of how that compares to other devices, it's about as long as my iPhone 5, is slightly wider than the iPhone 5, and is about 2 times as thick. There is only 1 button on the device, which can be found on the side of the battery pack. It is located closest to the micro USB port. When you orient the button so that it is on the left side and is closest to you, all other functions are on the front of the pack. The button you never need to use, as the device auto turns on and off when something is connected and disconnected from it. Pressing the power button once will cause the LED to briefly flash to indicate the amount of power the pack has remaining. Pressing it twice rather quickly will turn on the flashlight. Pressing it again twice will turn this off. . As indicated previously, the micro USB port is located on the left front of the unit. next to that, you'll find the LED light, which doubles as a flashlight and battery power indicator. To the right of that, you will find 2 USB ports which, yes, will allow you to charge 2 devices at the same time. Next to the LED light is a 1 AMP USB port, which works fine for iPhones and other accessories with smaller batteries, and to the right of that is a 2.1 amp USB port. This is most suitable for charging tablets and other accessories that have larger batteries. You can charge iPhones and other acessories with either port, but you must charge tablets with the 2.1 amp port. I didn’t notice much of a difference in speed when charging my iPhone 5 with the 2.1 amp port versus the 1 amp. What's in the box. In the box is the battery pack itself, along with a USB cable which has a standard USB connector to plug in to the pack, and then the other end doubles as a micro USB connector or 30-pin Apple connector, which Apple used up until last year for all of its devices. You simply move the 30-pin connector out of the way when you wish to use the Micro USB cord. Operation and impressions One of the biggest concerns I had with this pack was the flashlight feature. The button seems hard to bump, and would take 2 fairly quick bumps to activate, so this doesn't really bother me as I thought it would. The lack of an accessible way for me to check the power available kind of stinks, but it pretty much comes with the territory, unless you want to shell out the same amount of money for a battery pack which talks, but only has 1/3 of the capacity. I have charged my iPhone with this device 4 times, this includes the case with the additional battery, and the Limeade has still not gone dead. From reading reviews, it appears as though the battery pack takes about 12-14 hours to charge completely, so I'll do that once the pack goes dead, which will probably be soon. One of the nice things about this pack is that I don't have to worry about fiddling with the button on the side. It has an auto turn on and turn off feature which works whenever you connect or disconnect a device being charged. I've carried this device in my pocket, but it was a bit hefty to carry around, as there was no room for anything else in that pocket, so I usually kept it at home or in my office in my bag. One of the draw-back to the Limeade line of products is that they do not come with a wall charger, but you can use the included cable to charge from your computer, or use a wall power supply of your own to charge the device. I wish a wall charger had been included, but I have several laying around, so it wasn't a big deal. It also did not come with a lightning connector, also not a big deal, as I can simply use the USB cable that came with my phone, but it's something the user should be aware of when purchasing the product. Concluding remarks This device seems to work very well. There are a couple of draw-backs, which I mainly can address given the other equipment that I have. The biggest draw-back, particularly with a large capacity battery such as this, is that there is no way to really know how much battery power I have left. If I use it with devices that I know the MAH capacity of like my iPhone 5, or a certainly braille display, I can do the quick math in my head and keep a

what i like about fusion is actually that i can have the mac do its thing in windows, totally secured from the rest of the computers files. Sure we can scan books and all that under osx, but i have never ever found a way to make my book-scanner work as i wanted it under native osx. my next project will be to get all of my medical books scanned in. luckily i found a old version of windows xp, and it seems to run gorgeously on 512 mb of ram. Now here is one thing that have me a bit puzzled, when we boot windows up, do we have any way of seeing the messages flying across the screen? When we put xp on the MP, i could see a lots of lines changing, but could not actually read them with voiceover. I can see there is a log file. But have not looked much into it , was more wondering what others do. Over all i gotta say i am pretty impressed with what fusion can do. have a great weekend, later today we are heading for an airshow in roskilde, denmark europe, best sandi On 8/16/13, Jonathan Mosen jmo...@mosen.org wrote: I like Key Remap for Macbook. Re: Recording vinyl records
Hi Georgina, A few years ago I did a podcast showing how to do this using Amadeus Pro and a Griffin iMic. The podcast was on blindcooltech but I understand that is now down. If you are interested I might still have a copy I can post with a dropbox link. Although Amadeus has changed a little it is essentially the same and I think it would still be a good starting place. In fact. surprisingly, I'm still getting occasional emails from people finding it helpful. I don't know where they are downloading it from. It was called something like Vinyl to CD with Amadeus Pro You would not need a Griffin iMic but I found it helpful. I made some good recordings right out of the earphone jack from several sources. You can record with garage band, Audio Recorder, Sox, QuickTime Player or whatever you like best. There are different ways to split the audio into a separate left and right track file sox can do it with these commands: sox stereorecording.aiff monoleft.aiff remix 1 sox stereorecording.aiff monoright.aiff remix 2 to create two aiff files with the left and right audio in them. Very old hat but cool for me. Regrettably, my direct drive turntable with a reasonable cartridge has died so I'm having to use one of those driven by an elastic band. Regarding software, oh yes, it was sox I used on linux. But how do I split the tracks on my Mac Mini? Thanks. Gena On 24 Jun 2013, at 17:58, Chris Blouch cblo...@aol.com wrote: What is your source? It it just the RCA jack outputs of a phonograph or is there already a pre-amp in line before the computer? The original output from a phonograph is like a microphone output - very tiny and not very good sounding. You need a pre-amp which will boost that up to a line-level and apply the proper equalization. Back before the RIAA became the internet music piracy police they set up standards like how to re-EQ a phonograph output. So you can't record an LP without some box to do this. You could go with an Art DJ Pre for about $50: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DeeJayPre or go a little higher end to have one that includes USB audio out like this one: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/USBPhonoPPS Of course some folks skip all this and just get a phono player with USB output for about $100 http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PT01USB But if you already have a nice turntable then I'd go with one of the preamps. The Mac itself only has line inputs, not mic inputs. I think it's a good thing because getting a mic preamp right is a non-trivial bit of hardware and everybody has their favorite. So leave that to the likes of Mackie. In short, you can't just plug your turntable into your Mac and record it. Not only is the signal too weak but in needs the RIAA EQ applied to sound good. Once you do have it set up you can record with whatever you like. Some like Garageband but if you're ok with terminal stuff you can do it all by installing MacPorts and then getting the Sox package. I am very familiar with making such recordings from the command line within a GNU Linux terminal. Then I'm going to need to split the tracks. I don't intend upon using any of the clean up filters some people like to use. So what do you folks use, to copy long player records into a digital format? In respect of the hardware. Would I gain by buying a USB sound interface? Or direct into the microphone socket of my Mac Mini, running ML. Thanks. Have you a bluetooth keyboard with which to try? ON my built in keyboard, if you can believe it, I've got an entire virticle row gone. These are the keys which no longer type: x s w 2 F2 escape Grave accent and tab. The only solution was an Apple bluetooth keyboard or els have the entire top of the machine replaced at a cost of about $300 or so. Keeping in mind my warantee is out. The keyboard is fine and my bluetooth one did the same thing. I just don't get it.
