There is a built-in app called Preview that reads PDF files. That

I don't know about this on the iPhone, but since we're talking about an
Android, yes, you can do VPN on a Droid. I think total Commander has an
extension for that and ES File Explorer might have one as well.

The main reason for VPN is to get the secure connection to the correct network.

I can do it with home as well but the VPN isn't working as yet,

Copy and paste does not work and dragging and dropping is the only way to

But the drag and drop thing does not work properly for me.
When i am on the file i want to drag I press vo , and then command tab to
file transfer for android.
Here is a table and i have went down to the specific folder i want the file

I have opened it with command down arrow.
Now i press vo and the period sign then i see a dialog with the file and
after a while i hear that the dragging and dropping was unsuccessful.

Why must it be so difficult to have another operating system than the mac?

Re: Opinions wanted: Speed Dots for new iPad user?

2017-04-18 Thread Alex Hall
Thanks, everyone, for all the input. I'll look into getting a Speed Dots fitted
over the Otterbox.

Simon, yes, the product you described is exactly what Speed Dots is. They make
a variety of screen protectors that come with dots. Some have dots for all
keyboard keys, some for just f and j, and so on.

As to the dial pad, I was talking about unlocking the device. If I'm not around
and the client needs to use the iPad, Touch ID could fail and they'd be stuck.
Also, Touch ID requires the passcode after a couple days of inactivity, and at
this early stage, the client is likely to leave the iPad alone for long enough
to cause such a lockout. I want them to be able to get into the iPad on their
own, be it with Touch ID or a code.

Hi,

It's likely one of your Apple TV's, especially if they are Apple TV 2 or Apple
TV 3's. My son's Apple TV gives me notifications all the time, and one of
these days he will actually verify things and these notifications should stop.
You should be able to enter a code on that device and it will become a trusted
device, thus stopping these notifications.

That generally means someone’s trying to break in to your account if you’re not
causing it yourself. I would as Simon mentioned though possibly turning it off
and then turning it on everything you have and make sure it works. If you
continue to see the message and your devices are accounted for it’s likely your
account was owned somewhere else and the 2 factor is doing it’s job and
preventing access even though your password is compromised. Just a guess.

HOW TO STOP THOSE ANNOYING, ENDLESS ROBOCALLS TO YOUR SMARTPHONE
By Jennifer Jolly, Special for USA Today.

Have you noticed an uptick in those super annoying robocalls, telemarketers,
and scams hitting up your smartphone all hours of the day and night? I have,
and it's driving me nuts. Last month, I had a bogus call to lower my
electricity bill. A few weeks ago, it was a pause after I said hello, then a
woman saying, 'Oh, I'm sorry, I'm adjusting my headset,' before launching
into a sales pitch of some sort. And then there's the daily deluge of
numbers that look legit ' like my daughter's school calling, or a media
outlet from Manhattan ' only to end up being an obvious scam. This is George
Michael,' says a male caller with a heavy accent, 'calling from your online
pharmacy with your diet medication. Talk about adding insult to injury.
According to the Federal Communications Commission , there are nearly 2.4
billion robocalls made every month. That's more than 7'calls per person,
according to new research from the YouMail Robocall Index. At best, the
calls are frustrating. At worst, they're robbing us blind . So what can we
do about it once and for all? Let's start with a little self-education. How
the heck are these criminal-callers getting our cell numbers in the first
place? If you don't post it publicly across social media, use it on shady
shopping sites, or shout it out to every telemarketer who calls ' how is it
getting out there? The Better Business Bureau recommends Googling your own
number. Do it. I'll wait. Was it there? Mine was. It might not be alongside
your name, but chances are it's there, collected by a 'people search'
company like Nuwber that aggregates information from 'White Pages listings,
Public Records and Social Network Information. Thanks to modern technology,
these lists are now easy for cyber scammers to scrape. 'And that's how the
the robo-games begin. Related: Putting your number in the Do Not Call
registry is one step to blocking robocalls. (Photo: Jennifer Jolly for USA
TODAY.) If you haven't already, add your cell number to the National Do Not
Call list . I just went there to verify that I'm on the list and sure
enough, I've been registered since February 2006. So much for that.
Obviously, it doesn't fix the issue all the way around, but it does help
keep legitimate companies from cold-calling you. Sadly for us, the bad-guys
have easy workarounds (like #1). If you're already on the Do Not Call
Registry and still get hit up, report the calls to the FTC , which compiles
the reports and hands out the fines. You can also block them right from your
smartphone and block any spammy texts too. Here's where to block calls on
your iPhone. (Photo: Jennifer Jolly for USA TODAY) On iPhones , tap the
green phone icon on your home screen, select the 'Recents' tab on the bottom
of the screen, then tap the blue 'i' information icon next to the phone
number you want to block. A screen pops up with a bunch of options and at
the very bottom you'll find 'Block This Caller. Tap it and then when the
verification screen appears, confirm your decision. On most Androids , there
are two easy ways to block numbers. If you're on the standard version of
Android 6.0 you can go into your call log and long-press on the number you
want to block,

No more spam because I do not use a single email address for everything.

You can contact them, explaining that you use VoiceOver and would like to help
test their app for accessibility. However, I doubt you'll get far, as beta
testing was a perk of funding the project. I could easily be wrong, but it
seems like they'd keep the testing for the funders, else people may feel
cheated out of a perk they could have gotten free. I wouldn't feel that way,
but I can see the logic. Either way, it's worth reaching out to them to ask.

Honestly, I'm using Night Owl until the second I get the Twitterrific
beta. The final version should be out by August, according to the
fundraising campaign, so even if you didn't fund enough to get the beta,
you don't have too much longer. I figure I've gone this long without the
features I want, I can go a bit longer. If I need to quote something, read
a quote, etc, I grab my phone. It's not optimal, but it's all there is for
now as far as I know.

Re: Looking for a VoiceOver Script

2017-04-18 Thread Des Delgadillo
Jonathan,
I’ve never used the mini browser but I’ll play around with it today. Shouldn’t
be too much to learn.
Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll download the remote app shortly and let you
know how that goes.
