Re: cutting the cord pitfalls

2018-04-19 Thread Eric Oyen
well, it might be time to file a complaint with the FCC, FTC and a few other
places. Then call AT and inform them that if they refuse to work with you,
you will take your business elsewhere. At that point, I am sure they will
connect you to customer loyalty dept and try to convince you to stay on.
Convince them that the only way you will stay on is if you can get the bundle
you want that allows you full use of your internet.

oh, by the way, record the whole call so that if they fail to cooperate, you
can take it to some local news investigator. The last thing AT wants just now
is negative publicity (they are in talks to acquire another multimedia company).

hope this helps.

Re: Question about VoiceOver and words in all capital letters

2018-04-19 Thread E.T.
I think VO as it stands, handles this properly. I opened a document
in TextEdit and entered several acronyms. VO read them as expected, for
example it reads ACLU as A C L U. There is a setting you might look at
in VO Utility, Verbosity category, Text tab. It's an option that affects
how capital letters are handled.

RE: Finding iTunes stupid

2018-04-19 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi Tim,

Good thoughts thanks,

Yeah it’s a zip file I download from my router which is a auto sign in config
and cert related files.

I have to unzip them and then upload through the itunes file share / apps
feature to the open vpn connect app on my iPad,
It worked a few versions back on my iphone x but for some reason I can’t get it
to work on the ipad,

Also, it’s not an add button but an open button in itunes which to me is wrong,

I’ll give a try with the suggestions you’ve given and see what happens.

Cheers,

Hi,

If these are config profiles, try either eMailing them to yourself. Then
double tap the attachment to see how it handles opening them. It usually
recognizes config profiles and will bring up a bunch of "Are you Sure's" but
will allow you to open the VPN profile. Alternatively, did you try using
iCloud as a location to save the config files? Once in iCloud Drive, you
should have access to them from any machine using that same Apple ID and iCloud
Drive.

I needed this for my iPHone x and iPad pro,

What I need to do is upload to the devices the configuration files for my
OpenVPN system from my netgear router.

So I open itunes,
Find the iPad,
Then scrole down the list of features to find file sharing under info,
Then I go to the list of apps on the iPad
Finding OpenVPN
Then click on add file or add folder
I then find the files to upload to the iPad
Note there are only 3 files here to upload,
Now the crazy side kicks in,

Rather than an add button I can only get an Open button,
And then get multiple files can not be opened at one time.

I’ve tried adding one at a time,or all four at once,
Plus doing the configuration upload through both windows and mac os,

Does anyone else have any ideas on how to get these 4 files in to the OPNVPN
connect app on the ipad?

Any info would be appreciated.

Oh and note this configuration files for the open vpn app have only just been
downloaded tonight so they are correct files.

It probably does mean that. :) Open the VoiceOver Utility with vo-f8, then make
sure you're on the General category. VO-right until you land on the section
about portable preferences. If the button says "stop", you are using them. If
it says "start" or "set up", you are not.

2018-04-19 Thread jeff `greene
Hi List,
Just wondering if anyone has had experience with Folx 5 torrent and
download manager from Ultimasoft? I'm currently using Vuze Torrent
downloader and while it works fine I have no way to tell how far along
downloads have gotten. How is Folx using VO? Is it easy to set up? I
ask about setup because ultimasoft's website mentions plug-ins for
safari and chrome which makes me wonder.
Thanks Jeff

Re: Question about a very specific type of crash

2018-04-19 Thread Kristeen Hughes
I cannot use any keys that are connected with Voiceover when this happens. It
simply makes the default sound you get if there is nothing the key press can
accomplish.

Thank you for this. How do I know if I’m using portable preferences? Maybe the
fact that I have to ask this question means I am not?

Finding iTunes stupid

2018-04-19 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi Listers,

I've just updated my itunes to the latest I could get,
I think it said it was ver 12.7.4

I've tried adding one at a time,or all four at once,
Plus doing the configuration upload through both windows and mac os,

Does anyone else have any ideas on how to get these 4 files in to the OPNVPN
connect app on the ipad?

Any info would be appreciated.

Oh and note this configuration files for the open vpn app have only just been
downloaded tonight so they are correct files.
