RE: For Brad Re: Interested in purchasing a Macbook Air

2021-08-20 Thread skipper8218
As I understand it the Mac is transitioning to the M1 chips, and the basic
configuration is 256GB SSD with 8GB RAM.

I am not sure if there are any Macbook Airs with Intel processors in the 13
inch line.

I think the Pro versions still have Intel chips.

It all depends on what you want to do with the Mac.

You could consider an iPad as well.

My boyfriend found a deal for a refurbished Macbook Air. I am very

interested in purchasing this.

However, I would like to get some opinions on it, if at all possible. I

don't know much about using a Mac. I have always wanted to use one. I

know in some ways they can have limits though.

I would mainly like to be able to do a lot of different audio recording.

I currently use an HP laptop for the majority of things. And probably

still will.

Anyway, this Macbook Air has 4 Gigs of RAM, Intel Core I 5, 1.6 GHZ, 128

GB SSD. It doesn't state what version of the operating system it comes with.

Does this possibly mean it doesn't include one?

Also, how likely is it that this could be updated, if at some point I

wanted to do this?

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri

Re: Interested in purchasing a Macbook Air

2021-08-20 Thread Terri Stimmel

Hello to all who responded to this.

First of all, thank you so very much. This is why I am very grateful for
lists like this. It is helpful for someone like myself who is
interested. But also who doesn't know enough, to know what really to
look for.

I really appreciate this. I wasn't planning to make this purchase, until
I had some other thoughts and opinions. I have learned that when making
such a purchase like this, all the information I can have, helps me to
make the best decision.

I will not be buying this Mac Air. I think now it makes sense as to why
it is such a deal. Well, according to the App my boyfriend got this
from, anyway.

I'm not sure if this was the one from Walmart, or not. I didn't even
know, in all honesty, that Walmart was selling Mac products. But I
wouldn't purchase such things from Walmart.

My boyfriend has a few different Apps that he checks out regularly, and
they share all kinds of different deals with him. He knew I was
interested in something like this. So he past it on to me. Like myself,
he doesn't know enough about them, to really know what to look for.

Thank you again. I really do appreciate it.

Terri

Re: Interested in purchasing a Macbook Air

2021-08-20 Thread 'Robert Cole' via MacVisionaries
The WalMart states that it ships with Mac OS Lion or Mountain Lion, witch means
it must be from around 2009.
I would not purchase this.

I wouldn’t get a MacBook Air with less than 8 GB RAM, and at least 256 SSD HD.
I’d pass on this one.

Not sure.

Interested in purchasing a Macbook Air

2021-08-20 Thread Terri Stimmel

Hello everyone,

Thank you,

Terri

I think it is a function of the camera, but you need to activate it from the
Control Center item.
