As I understand it the Mac is transitioning to the M1 chips, and the basic configuration is 256GB SSD with 8GB RAM.
I am not sure if there are any Macbook Airs with Intel processors in the 13 inch line. I think the Pro versions still have Intel chips. It all depends on what you want to do with the Mac. You could consider an iPad as well.
