RE: Monterey?

2021-09-16 Thread lists

Hi Fazil,

I do not believe Monterey has been released by Apple as of yet.

I’ve been busy starting a new role at work as well as moving in to a new home,
So if others have more recent news regarding this topic, I’m happy to be
corrected.

Sincerely,

Sadam Mohamed Ahmed

RE: MacBook, Voiceover, and Kindle

2021-09-16 Thread skipper8218
This is the first time I have heard support for Read Aloud on the Mac using
text to speech from the Kindle app.

Unfortunately, the Kindle app is not accessible with VoiceOver on the Mac so I
recommend using Windows, IOS, iPad OS, windows, or an amazon fire Tablet.

Some Kindle books can be read with the Echo and Echo Dots.

Subject: MacBook, Voiceover, and Kindle

Hello,

Using Kindle on a MacBook, is there any way of accessing the actual text of the
book for the purpose of selecting and copying text or for allowing Voiceover to
read the text? The Kindle app on the MacBook allows for text to speech built
into the app by pressing Command+T, but an individual I am attempting to assist
would prefer that Voiceover read the text rather than the text to speech built
into the app doing the reading. We have, of course, attempted to interact with
the text without success. I know that this can be done on a Windows PC and hope
it can also be done on a Mac.

Thanks,

Mauricio

A Question About Apple Fitness Plus for VoiceOver Users

2021-09-16 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

Question: does anyone use or has anyone used Apple Fitness Plus? If so,
how was / is your experience?

So much of the content is video-based, at least, that is how it appears in
all of the Apple Keynote Presentations.

I know that they mentioned something about adding more audio-based content
to the service but just wanted to get some feedback here in the forum.

I look forward to your replies,

Mark

Re: Direct Access to Startup Disk Dialog in System Preferences

Hi,

You need to tell your Mac that the .sh file type is to open in Terminal instead
of TextEdit. I’ve sent you a note privately to help with this.

In addition to creating a shell script textt file, it must be given permissions
to operate using this command:

chmod file-name

The numbrs allow all permmission functions to be linked to the file, it can use
other numbers to limit which functions and to whom permission
is given to use/modify it.

Also, an ".sh" extension is not required, in fact no extension is required.
But the ".sh" is the common one used to identify it as a shell
script file.
