One more thing, I wrote in the email the same text that I was typing in 
TextEdit and sent it to my Windows computer and Jaws reads the text character 
by character because I have an old Jaws that does not have as strong support 
for Arabic as the latest Jaws has.

I think so because when I am on Youtube, Voiceover reads Arabic and Hindi text

This may not have a solution. I remember having the same issue when I looked up 
something that had an Arabic phrase on Wikipedia and I noticed the same issue 
that you mentioned. Quicknav won’t help since it does not see it as separate 
letters. Do you by chance have multiple languages enabled on your phone?

I think you use your arrow keys to go through that, but you might find it 
easier to disable auto-correct. I think that is in the keyboard options.
