They both have 2 uSB-a ports, 2 uSB-c thunderbolt ports, HDMI and headphone

format it for the Mac. I have a 4TB USB-C drive that I got for only 120 bucks
on amazon, I use iCloud for everything, so it really wasn’t necessary, but I do
keep important stuff backed up

Can’t say if this works or not, but someone mentioned to me that if you hold
down the control key, and push on your trackpad on a MacBook Air, or pro, that
the context menu will show. Again, can’t verify this, because I have a Mac

Re: keyboard commanders

2021-01-27 Thread 'Stur It Up Productions' via MacVisionaries
Try these istructions
Key Board Commanders on the Mac.
If you would like to begin using Key Board commanders, there is one setting you
will need to change in Voiceover first. Open the VoiceOver Utility with VO F8,
and select the "general" category (you should be on it by default). Find the
checkbox labeled "Allow VoiceOver to be controlled by AppleScript" and check
it. If you do not enable this, any commander that tells Voiceover to do
anything (which is most of them) will fail. You only need to change this
setting once.

VO Shift K will also toggle on and off keyboard commander.

Then the right Option key plus the letter T will tell you the time and date.
The right Option key plus the letter S will open Safari.
The right Option key plus the letter M will open Mail.
The right Option key plus the letter U will tell you how many Unread e-mails
you hav.

To set a customized Key Board Commander:
Open the VoiceOver Utilities with a VO F8.
Press the letter C for Commanders.
VO right arrow to get to Keyboard and select this with VO Spacebar.
VO right arrow to get to “Key Board Commander Table”.
This is a Table: You will need to interact with this Table by pressing VO
Shift down arrow to begin interacting.
When you are in the Key Board Commander Table, you can use the VO down arrow
keys to see what number, or letter, etc is set and then VO right arrow for the
corresponding action. Such as the letter “S" in the first column and
Application to open Safari is in the right hand column with in this Key Board
Commanders Table.
To stop interacting with the Key Board Commanders Table, use the VO Shift up
arrow.
VO to the right to the “Add Key Board Command” and VO Spacebar to choose this.
You will be in a two column table. The first column will say “Blank”. This is
where you type one single letter or number, etc to set what will be the key to
press with the right Option key, for the shortcut.
For example: I want a Key Board Command Shortcut for opening VoiceOver
Utilities. So instead of VO and the F8 Command, I want to use right Option key
plus the V key to open VoiceOver Utilities.

VO right arrow to the Key Board Commands Menu Button, and VO Spacebar to select
this Menu of 14 items. VO down arrow to “Custom” and VO right arrow to expand
this Custom submenu.
There are 5 choices: Open App, Open Utility, Open File, Run Apple Script, and
Run Automator Workflow.
Choose one of these five items with VO Spacebar. Such as Open Utility, if you
wish for your shortcut to be Option plus the letter V to open VoiceOver
Utilities.
Choose VoiceOver Utilities. And hit the Enter key to addd this Key Board
Command.
Use VO Q to Quit.
Then try out the keyboard Command with the right Option key and the letter V to
see if VoiceOver Utilities opens.
Keyboard Commander
Keyboard Commander allows you to configure custom keyboard shortcuts to perform
VoiceOver commands, run scripts, and open apps, eliminating the need to locate
them manually and thus greatly streamlining your workflow. Commands can be
configured in VoiceOver Utility > Commanders > Keyboard Commander.
By default, commands for opening Mail and Safari and running scripts for
announcing the date and time and the number of unread Mail messages are
included. For more information, check out thisAppleVis podcast.
