Hello everyone,

I have an issue that I wonder if some in this group could maybe help me with?
I am trying to use EbscoHost on the iPhone to save articles, so I can view them 
on my iMac, but when invoking the gesture to “download” the PDF, so i can 
E-mail it to myself I am not having any luck.
Does anyone in this group use EbscoHost with the iPhone?

Reference Citation Suggestions

Hello everyone,

I am using voiceover on a iMac 2010 27-inch model.
I am curious to know what others in the academic realm are using to create 
reference lists for research papers?
Currently, I create my bibliographies manually, which is tedious and quite 
arduous.
I use APA 6th (ed) as my citation guide of choice.

Merge PDFs with PDFPen Pro

Hello everyone,

As the subject line suggests, I am curious to know how others have merged PDFs 
together with PDFPen Pro?
Also, with OCR, how have others successfully converted text with the “form 
fill” feature, so PDFs can be completed on the computer?
Currently, I have to have sighted help with some forms, which I dislike 
printing, just to scan and make electronic once again.

iStat Menu or Alternative to Hardware Monitoring

Chromevox and voiceover Navication

Hello everyone,

I am learning the ins-and-outs of working with Chromevox, and so far I like it. 
I like how flash is imbedded into Google Chrome, and I like how I can change 
voices because the bubbly one at first activation was not ideal. Lol

My question deals with navigation through web sites etc. I am aware of the 
navigation keys one must use to move through web sites, but is there an easier 
method of navigation?
Presently,, I must press the CTRL-key, then the letter “N,” followed by an 
additional letter such as, “E” to move to a search field, “C” to move to a 
comobox, or “X” to love to the next link if I do not want to use the tab-key.
My original intent of learning how to use Chromvox is to learn how to create 
Google documents, spreadsheets, and power points because I’ve heard that this 
can be useful in some situations.

Additionally, what are ways others have found to navigate within comboboxes? I 
found a work-around while in gmail using Google Chrome, but just curious to 
know the methods of others’ who use this browser?

Finally, what are some plugins others who use Chrome can suggest to increase 
the ease of using this browser?

ChronoSync and voiceover

voiceover? In particular when syncing a NAS and backing up to a hard drive?

Numbers Cell Format Help.

Hello everyone,


I thought I would try to post my problem once more, to see if I get better 
results from those users who are knowledgable with Numbers.
Please read my message carefully because suggestions that have already been 
attempted, do not need to be restated as possible solutions. Since said 
"solutions," have been tried and have not worked is why I am writing.

Basically, my problem is that when inserting a series of 6-digits that start 
with two zeros, the zeros are not appearing in the cell. The only digits that 
are "visible" are the last four, which is okay, but I want the additional 
numbers to appear.
For example, when inserting "001234," the "1234" are the only digits visible.
Thus, how do I alter the cell data to display all the digits within a given 
cell?
I am aware of the cell format area, where particular elements of a cell's 
contents can be changed, but after changing the "data area" to reflect 
"numbers," the problem still persists.

I again, welcome valuable feedback.

iTunes and audio book Help

cannot locate them within the audio book directory of my iTunes library.
Does anyone have any suggestions where they could be located?
When I search for them on my computer the rference does indicate they are 
located within my iTunes library.

Numbers Cel Formatting Question

Hello everyone,

I am trying to change cell attributes, specifically, the digit count in a cell.
When inserting a numbers with zeros at the beginning, they are not displayed, 
but the remaining 4-digits out of the 6-digit number is visible.
How do I change this feature?

I do not see anything within the cell format area of the inspector pain.
I changed the series of cells to reflect numbers, but this has not helped.

IFTTT Question.

Hello everyone,

I have an IFTTT question.
I’ve created a recipe that monitors my Google E-mail account for messages from 
particular people, and when receiving a message I have my IFTTT recipe send me 
a text message.
However, when I get messages from these people I never get a text message from 
my IFTTI Recipe.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is occuring?
Also, what are some ways others have found web-based automation to be helpful 
concerning IFTTT?

Duxbury in a VM Help

Hello everyone,

I posted this question a couple of week ago, but I thought I would try again to 
see if anyone has suggestions.
Basically, when I use Duxbury in a Windows 7 VM Jaws stops announcing the text, 
and only says “blank,” after about half a page approximately.
When I load the same document on a dedicated Windows machine the process of 
editing my document is flawless.
My questions are  what is happening for Jaws not to be announcing itself 
correctly when using Duxbury in the VM, as opposed to a dedicated Windows 
machine? What can I do to resolve this problem because I do not want to keep a 
laptop around for this single purpose.

Duxbury Printer Help with Virtual Windows Image

Hello everyone,

The subject line is quite clear.
I have installed Duxbury on my virtual image of Windows, but I cannot figure 
out how to ad a “virtual USB” port for the embosser?
I am mirroring my Windows configuration because this  is presume to be ideal, 
but my efforts are futile.
Basically, I do not know what to do since I do not see any virtual ports listed 
in my printer properties for the Generic Text Printer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am using the same version of Windows 7 on both my laptop and my virtual image 
of Windows on my iMac.

File Source Details Help

Hello everyone,


When accessing the “more info” feature of a particular file, I press VO-right 
arrow and interact with the scroll area.
I use this same keystroke feature to move through the details of a file. 
However, I am not able to view the “source” information about the file in 
question.
I have not had good success with this and it is slightly frustrating.
I want to know if others on this list have found a solution that gives the 
source details of a file i.e. From whence it was downloaded because I want to 
use this information in a Hazel rule.

MacTubes No Longer Working?

Hello everyone,

I have just downloaded the update to MacTubes because the previous version was 
not providing youtube results.
Since this most recent update (3.1.6) I am still having the same issue.
Has anyone else experienced this same problem when searching youtube via 
Mactubes?
If this problem is one that others have not been able to resolve, what 
alternatives exist that are similar to Mactubes? I prefer video, not just 
audio, so suggestions that are audio only are appreciated, but not necessary.

m4b File Merging

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know of an accessible program that would allow me to merge m4b 
files together that are of great length?
For example, I have some books that I’ve merged with Audio Book Binder. Some of 
these books exceed the merging limit of 24 hours. Thus, I would like to merge 
the series of files together to have one file for each book, verses a couple of 
files for one book.

VM 7 Microsoft Question

Hello everyone,

I am running Windows 7 with the latest version of Fusion.
I was trying to insert comments into a MS Word file yesterday, but to no avail.
I am curious if others have had this same issue, or if anyone knows of an 
alternative method to accomplish this task?
Usually, I can press “alt-I,” then the letter “M” for the comment feature, 
either type or paste my comment into the edit field, then return back to normal 
view by pressing “alt-V” and selecting the view feature.
However, in both Windows 7 and Windows XP this has not been possible, except 
for the first comment, but all subsequent attempts fail.

Keyboard Maestro Question

Hello everyone,

Has anyone ever made a macro to cause a program, which is normally invoked with 
the mouse to launch?
I am referring specifically to PopClip.
I have seen on some web sites that this feature is possible to produce by 
simply using the keyboard, and another site references Keyboard Maestro as one 
option of developing such a macro.
I am just wondering if any voiceover users have attempted this, and how do any 
of you suggest I attempt to replicate this feature?

Calendar Suggestion

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know of a good voiceover accessible calendar program that will work 
great with Google Calendar, my iCloud calendar, and Omni Focus?
iCal is okay, but I am seeking something that will provide a comprehensive view 
of events, and reminders quickly.
I know some on this list are using Fintastical, so will this calendar 
alternative accomplish what I am wanting?
Moreover, a calendar alternative that makes it easy to input data is equally 
ideal.

Omni Focus Date Creation

Hello everyone,

I have just downloaded Omni Focus. I am having trouble selecting the correct 
time for the action I have created.
Each time I insert the time in the “due date” field of the projects table the 
time is not reflected in the scroll area that gives an outline of the action 
details.
I confirm this by reviewing my iCloud calendar and observe the time is 
incorrect.
Moreover, what are some voiceover techniques others on this list have used with 
Omni Focus?

BusyCal Accessibility Improved?

Has anyone tried using BusyCal as of late?
I know when it first was released it seemed moderately accessible, but 
accessing the calendar table was not possible.
Thus, I am curious to know if anyone on this list has made any further attempts 
of reaching the developers who seemed aloof and not very interested.

DevonThink Office Pro and DevonAgent Pro: My Thoughts So Far

Hello everyone,

I have been using DevonThink Office Pro, and DevonAgent for a few weeks now.
I posted several weeks ago that my experience has been quite well so far (given 
that both programs are voiceover compatible).
Recently, I have incorporated DevonAgent into the mix, and my experience is 
still pleasing.
DevonAgent is a little different in that it is more than just a place to search 
via the Internet, but instead it gives users the ability to hone the power of 
DevonAgent in a way that maximizes search results efficiently.
For example, I can create a “search set,” which is basically a rule I can apply 
to a particular search, and based on the criteria I am wanting, DevonAgent will 
return results that filter duplicates, provide results that either exclude or 
include PDF or text files, and so-on and so-forth.
Additionally, with the aforementioned criteria, I can select “plugins,” or more 
commonly known, “web sites,” that DevonAgent will search simultaneously. Thus, 
presenting more results from several web sites at once.  Moreover, I can choose 
to E-mail, import the content into DevonThink, or save the file as a PDF, which 
are all great ways to capture the content.
I am only sharing my experience as a point of reference for those who are 
interested in using this program for their own information organizing or 
research needs.

OCR PDF Files

Hello everyone,

My subject line sums up what I am wanting to accomplish.
I have some style guides that are images, which I want to preform OCR on.
However, I am unsure of how to go about this because generally I scan files 
using my Fujitsu ScanSnap, or in some rare cases, I can load a PDF into PDFPen 
Pro and it will give me the option to preform OCR on a document.
Never-the-less, these two solutions are not available. Therefore, what are 
others doing when the aforementioned options are not possible?

Windows 7 CTRL-right and left arrow Function Problem

Hello everyone,

I am using VMWare Fusion 7 running Windows 7.
While using JAWS 14 I am experiencing a CTRL-right and left arrow function 
problem.
Basically, when trying to use this function, it does not seem to work with 
JAWS. All other subsequent arrow functions work fine.
Has anyone experienced this same issue? I primarily encounter this when trying 
to navigate through text within Microsoft Word.
It is a cumbersome problem because it makes navigating text very difficult.
Thus, does anyone have a solution that can remedy my issue?

DevonThink: First Impressions

Hello everyone,

These are just some general thoughts about my limited experience with using 
DevonThink.
Installing the program is typical of most Apple-developed software, so no 
explanation is necessary.
Frankly, I am quite impressed with the accessibility of the software. I have 
been able to create groups, modify tags for various items, and import or index 
files with ease.
A caveat is that in some instances of opening PDF files within the program, the 
content appears as “static text,” which is easily overcome by pressing 
“CMD-shift-o,” rather than, “CMD-O.)
Furthermore, I have been able to import documents from EverNote. I have many 
articles saved, so to access these from within one general location with ease 
is definitely a great advantage. Moreover, if additional articles are saved to 
a particular notebook, upon import, only those articles that were recently 
added will be indexed. Side note: EverNote needs to be installed for this to 
work successfully.

Another great feature, which makes DevonThink an excellent tool for those in 
academia or in other research-heavy professions is that preforming a “keyword” 
search of your entire database is possible.
For instance, if I have an idea of a particular article or document I want to 
read or share, but I am unsure of the tile, but I can recall a few “keywords,” 
then invoking the search function with “CMD-shift-F” will place voiceover into 
an edit field where I may type the select words for the search. By pressing 
“enter,” the search will commence, and in a layout table (accessible with VO-T) 
the most recent document will appear with a percentage value corresponding to 
the accuracy of the content relevant to the search.

Finally, accessing the options within the source table, is possible, but one 
needs to preform a mouse-click on the highlighted feature he or she wants to 
view. For example, if I only want to view the “recently added” content, I 
interact with the source table, VO-down arrow until I come to this option, and 
preform a mouse-click, and interact with the layout table, which will display 
the “recently added” items.

In my opinion, DevonThink is the “iTunes” of file management. I am excited to 
have this program available to me during my second round of grad school.

File Management Database

Hello everyone,

Can anyone suggest  a file management database program that is voiceover 
accessible for the Macintosh?
I use EverNote for some things, but because of the limited accessibility on the 
iPhone, it does not seem to be an ideal method for sorting through files. 
Moreover, the desktop client is less accessible.
I am wanting a program that will give me as much usability as possible. I know 
DevonThink is a Macintosh client, but it is not accessible (unless updates have 
been made that I am not privy to).

Accessing Hidden Sounds in yosemite

Hello everyone,

The subject line summarizes my inquiry.
I note that “custom” sounds can be assigned to FaceTime callers, but how can 
additional sounds be added to this default list, so that personalized sounds 
and ringtones can be options from which to select from?
Or, if this is not possible, how can the default sounds be accessed, so they 
can be modified to reflect the personal ringtones and sounds of choice?
If neither is possible, again, another customization element where Apple seems 
to be late to the game.

P.S. I note that when inserting the set of personalized sounds into  either 
“~/library/sounds,” or into “~/library/audio/alerts,” or into 
“~/library/audio/sounds,” they do not appear for me to select in other 
applications as well. If I am misguided in my attempts, then I welcome any 
correction that will solve this problem.

Instapaper Safari Extension Help

Hello everyone,

I have installed the safari extension and the “Instapaper” button appears in my 
Safari toolbar.
When I press “VO-space” on this button it merely loads the Instapaper web site.
I was under the presumption that the extension would place a Instapaper share 
option within the “share” options of Safari.
Is my thinking about this feature incorrect?
Does anyone have an idea as to how I can place a Instapaper Safari extension 
into the share option within the Safari sharing feature?

Daisy File Conversion

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know what files in particular, I need to extract from a daisy 
folder downloaded from BookShare so I can convert it into a ePub file?
I have used VoiceDream so far, and it is a great program for the iPhone, but I 
want to be able to access this material on the iMac as well.
If this conversion is not possible, does a daisy reader exist that is 
accessible with voiceover?

Voiceover and iTunes Navigation

Hello everyone,

Since the recent iTunes update, I have had an issue that is not so much a 
problem, but an annoyance.
Basically, I am no longer able to access content via first letter navigation 
when interacting with a content table.
In order for this feature to occur, I must first stop interacting with the 
layout table, then press the series of letters either for the TV show or 
artist, then resume interacting with the table to be taken to the desired 
content.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is this a problem among the compatibility of 
Voiceover and iTunes? Is this an isolated case?
I recently had to reinstall OS X, so I am not sure if a setting is not set 
correctly, but I do not think so.

SuperDuper Folder Exclusion

Hello everyone,

I am reading through the Super Duper manual, but with little success of 
understanding how to create a script.
Basically, I want to set a script, which when selected will only smart copy my 
documents folder.
I am aware that I need to first select my backup script as the primary item I 
want to manipulate (insuring this item is ignored)
Then I need to add the documents folder as the item I want copied.

I am not sure if this understanding I have gleamed is correct. 
If anyone has had experience with this I would greatly appreciate help in 
increasing my understanding...

Hello everyone,

 I am trying to access the downloads folder where my mail attachments are 
stored.
From listening to a Mac Power Users podcast, the hosts provide the file path 
as: 
/users/username/library/containers/com.apple.com/data/library/maildownloads.
However, when trying to access this file path nothing happens, and when trying 
to search for this com.apple.com folder within the various subfolders of my 
directory, I am not able to locate it within the containers folder.
Does anyone have any ideas on where this folder may be located, or if the 
folder has been changed to a new location?
I am using Mavericks, and I want to access this folder so I can create a Hazel 
rule to move the attached downloads to a different location on my HD.

Keyboard Maestro question

Hello Keith and others,

If I am understanding correctly, recording a macro basically is me executing a 
series of keyboard commands that Keyboard Maestro can use to compile a custom 
macro?
I am a little hesitant to record because if I am remembering correctly from the 
podcast that once the macro has been created I need to immediately exit out of 
the record area, so as not to alter a Voiceover keystroke by accident?
I know that pressing CTRL-F1 will toggle between the record and stop-record 
feature, but I am unsure when I will know when the feature is activated because 
Voiceover did not give any indication that the feature has been enabled. Hence, 
I just do not want to screw anything up because once I accidentally enabled 
sticky keys, which was a B**ch to disable using only a keyboard.
Essentially, I just want to record a macro that either is toggled on and off by 
the launch of an application or keystroke. However, I feel this request will be 
a little complex because it will involve changing the system input and output 
sounds; hence, the ability of recording the macro because the feature is not 
available within the system control area of KBM.

Keyboard Maestro Actions Question

Hello everyone,

I recently listened to an AppleVis podcast about Keyboard Maestro.
I am grateful this application is Voiceover accessible, however, I am having a 
bit of a problem.
I have created a new macro, titled it accordingly, selected the USB device I 
want a program to launch, selected the application action feature, but I do not 
know how to select the application in question that I want to start.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I am missing because I am not understanding 
my error. I feel I am 90% finished, but the obvious 10% is stumping me.

Facetime Audio Fails Using Mavericks

Hello everyone,

I have successfully installed Mavericks 10.9.2.
I have attempted to make a FaceTime audio call from within the Messages app.
However, when pressing VO-space on the audio button, I get a two-tone beep, 
and a Message indicating FaceTime audio has failed.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could be doing wrong?

ReadKit Question

Hello everyone,

I have logged into my Instapaper account from ReadKit, however, I cannot view 
my articles that I have saved.
When placing focus on the Instapaper category I want to view and moving 
Voiceover to the layout table, Voiceover indicates the table is empty.
Am I not doing Something correct? Has anyone experienced issues with this app? 
The Applevis site did suggest this program Works moderately well with Voiceover.

Amadeus Pro Channels Question.

Hello everyone,

When recording with Amadeus Pro, my sound input and output filter through the 
left and right speakers respectively.
Selecting the “sound tab in the preferences pane, then choosing either “input” 
or “output” and changing the channel to “center” does not solve this problem.
When seeing if my change has been accepted, to my dismay it has not - in fact 
it seems to revert back to the default setting for each element.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make my recordings stay centered, 
so the sound comes through both speakers?

Byword and Markdown

For those users of Byword, who may also use Markdown, how do you cause Byword 
to render markdown syntax?
I thought pressing “command-option-P” invokes this feature, but when it places 
me into the HTML content area I do not see any change to my document created 
with markdown.

Google Drive and Mavericks

Hello everyone,

Upon my installation of Mavericks I have learned that sharing a folder with 
another person using the Google Drive client is no longer possible.
Accessing this “sharing” feature from the web site is proving difficult.
Therefore, does anyone have any viable solution how I can share a newly created 
folder with another person?

Enabling Assistive Devices Help.

Hello Everyone,

From performing a google search on the Internet, I have found that enabling 
assistive devices with Mavericks is done from within “Security and Privacy.”
However, when accessing this area I do not see a feature that would allow me to 
enable assistive devices for applications i.e. Text Expander.
Does any one have any suggestions?

OnePassword 4 Help.

Hello everyone,

I have recently installed the update for OnePassword on my iMac.
I have already come to not like the newly designed lay-out, but this not my 
problem.
Has anyone who use this program on their desktop computers experienced 
difficulty when generating a new login?
I have to use the iPhone app to generate a new password and some of the fields 
are not labeled well, which makes this challenging.
Does anyone have any solutions on innovative methods they have used to resolved 
this primary issue?
Also invoking the cmd-backslash keystroke to have OnePassword automatically 
fill-in my credentials does not seem to function as expected.
I welcome any response from OnePassword users.

I am having it access. Instead, it desires to create a password keychain for

I have become an almost immediate fan of LaunchBar.
Reading the Take Control book from Tidbits has really given me a more solid 
understanding about this app and ways on how to use it for my specific needs.
There are certain selections of text that I want to save to EverNote because 
they are steps on invoking certain commands, but how do I copy and paste text 
from Preview?
Is there are marker selection feature I could use or some useful way I can 
accomplish this task?

For those who are daily users of Text Expander, what settings need to be 
configured to cause a text snippet to automatically be capitalized at the 
beginning of a sentence?
For instance, when I type the snippet mv r, or tfr, etc I would like these

Tonidos - Voiceover Compatible Remote Access

This Message is a cross-post because of its utility.
Tonido is an accessible and free way to move and share files, which is 
voiceover compatible for Mac OS X and the iPhone.
The macintosh client resides in the menubar, but the iPhone app is where the 
benefits of this app are seen.
The iPhone app recognizes my entire computer and allows me to access external 
drives also.
The web site is accessible and making an account took me less than 5 minutes. 
The iPhone client will prompt you for the account credentials and a specific 
URL,  which is necessary to view your computer.
Please note that the URL is going to take the form of 
http://username.tonidoid.com. This will need to be entered into the URL section 
when logging into your account from the iPhone. (This URL can just be copied 
from the Tonido support e-mail you will receive after an account has been 
created).
If you Google tondo it will be the first link in the results section.

I want to reformat my iMac, but when entrain recovery mode I cannot get

I have done this before, so I know what I am doing. Does anyone have any

Safari Share Button Menu

Hello everyone,

In the Safari toolbar lives a share button.
When clicking this button several native options appear - e-mail this page, 
message, Facebook, Twitter, and several others.
Is it possible to add custom options in this share menu for instance, Evernote, 
or Instapaper, as options that will execute upon selection?
Is there better ways to use these features without having to generate bookmark 
options because I would like to keep particular extension features isolated if 
possible.

Windows 7 Installation on Virtual Machine

Hello everyone,

In having a sighted person look at my screen, it appears as if the installation 
of my Windows 7 virtual machine install is not in English.
Does anyone have any ideas on how when installing windows 7 the default 
language can be kept at English?
I presumed that the language setting would be adjusted to the default language 
settings on the Mac, or something along those lines.

VmWare Fusion Windows 7 SP1 Jaws 14 Installation Help.

Hello everyone,

I have made a couple of attempts to figure out my issue, but I am not having 
any luck.
Those who are more knowledgeable than myself, could you lend a helping hand?
I have installed Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64 bit using VmWare Fusion 4.1.4.
The installation takes about 25 to 35 minutes, which is fine.
However, when trying to run narrator using the keyboard commands: 
windows-key-U, then pressing ALT-N, nothing happens. When pressing the 
windows-key and typing the word narrator into the search field the program 
loads fine.
However, the female voice does not appear to be speaking in English. I am not 
sure what to do at this stage because when loading my JFW V14 CD into the 
optical drive, it appears as it will install, but upon hitting the set-up 
button nothing happens.
I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have never had any problems when using 
Windows XP in a virtual machine environment.
I have deleted and reinstalled the virtual image of Windows 7 twice, thinking I 
made some change unbeknownst to me, but everything is repeating.
I want to figure this out because sighted help will not always be available, 
and in some cases unreliable to call upon.
therefore, if anyone has had experience with my problems or knows of a remedy 
that ail help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Mailing Labels Suggestions.

Hello everyone,

I find that the standard 10 X 1/2  envelope margins need to be adjusted because 
the sent from address is roughly an inch low.
This got me thinking…so I am curious what mailing labels are users enjoying 
when printing out address labels?
This would need to be something I could use for both address sections of the 
envelope because I have some cases where the non-standard 9 x 1/2 by 11 manilla 
 envelopes will not fit into my label feed.

PDFPen Pro 6

Hello everyone,

For 48 hours only Smile Software will be having a sale on the newly updated 
PDFPen, and PDFPen Pro (both of which can be purchased from the Apple Store for 
$29.99 and $39.99 respectively).
However, from what I have gathered so far, the inability to use the program as 
described with voiceover has not been addressed.
One is able to still review the contents of a PDF, but not edit the document 
within PDFPen. Additionally, form fields can be created, but from what I've 
gathered so far, it seems as though all the form fields are placed within 1 
page and unfortunately are not accessible with voiceover.
I can access each form field, but I am not able to hear voiceover read any text 
within each field.
Exporting to microSoft word works well, but I have no one who can give visual 
clarification as to the degree of mirrored accuracy PDFPen supports.
Finally, voiceover labeling is possible, but again, this does not provide any 
options one can access with voiceover, and this is not possible within the 
toolbar unless someone can get sighted assistance.

Please know these are preliminary comments at the minimum, and should no way be 
misconstrued as completely accurate. Individuals who are interested in learning 
more about PDFPen for the Mac should investigate this further.

File Sharing Alternatives

After recently listening to an i5 podcast, I have become interested in 
alternative file sharing methods.
While drop box is a good program, InstaShare allows me to directly 
drag-and-drop items to and from my device, but unfortunately since the 
dragp-and-drop feature seldom works as intended this does not seem like a good 
alternative.
Thus, would anyone know of any other ways to move files to and from an iDevice, 
which accessible with voiceover?

Hello everyone,

I have a Little problem I hope I can get help with from those who are familiar 
with IFTT.
I have a channel created, but want to add an action that will then trigger 
another program to automate a certain task.
I have searched  through some of the recipes, but have not found what I am 
wanting.
Therefore, if anyone has any insight on how to use IFTT with voiceover your 
help would be greatly appreciated.

HandBreak Alternative

Hello everyone,

I hope this message is finding everyone doing well.
It appears as if Hand Break no longer works on Mountain Lion.
Does anyone know of a good voiceover compatible alternative?
I have searched on the Internet, but the options have unlabeled buttons, and 
while most of these can be labeled, the output options do not seem to be 
completely accessible.

Voiceover Help Suggestions

Hello everyone,

I have been noticing that voiceover has been performing strangely.
For example, when trying to have voiceover announce a line of text by pressing 
VO-L nothing happens. Mostly all cases until recently this keyboard function 
worked fine, but now voiceover no longer reads me the line of text I typed when 
in Skype message windows, in the Safari search bar, except when I am in a word 
processor.
Additionally, when navigating through tables, letter navigation seems to no 
longer work when in the Safari bookmarks table, and when in iTunes.
Does any one have any suggestions or things I can try with the hope of 
resolving these issues?

Voiceover NOT Reading Current Line.

Hello everyone,

I have been having somewhat of a minor issue as of late.
When typing text and pressinging VO-L, which will read me the current line, 
voiceover will not do so.
I have to move focus away from the text area, then place focus back on the text 
area, so voiceover will announce the text I entered.
I've repaired permissions thinking this might help, but it has not.
Has anyone else had this same issue? Does anyone know how to resolve the 
problem?

P.S. Yes, I've rebooted my iMac and have also restarted voiceover - FYI.

BusyCal Compatible with Voiceover?

I have learned that it is a great improvement over the default calendar app. 
Just curious if anyone has heard of this or has purchased the program, which is 
on sale in the Mac Store for $30.

Mouse Navigation Using Voiceover.

Hello everyone,

I have created a track pad commander shortcut that will perform a right-mouse 
click when I hold the CTRL+two-finger double-tap.
There is a program in my Doc that I would like to access, but in order to reach 
some extra menus the manual suggests the aforementioned mouse option.
Does a method exist with voiceover that would allow me to move the 
mouse-pointer to the voiceover cursor? I am aware of of SHIFT-CTRL-OPTION-F5, 
which will allow me to rout the voiceover cursor to the mouse-pointer, but I 
would like to perform the opposite behavior with the hope of my track pad 
shortcut giving me access to some extra menus.

Possibility of File Transporter voiceover Accessible?

Lately some buzz in the mac ecosystem is about File Transporter, which is a 
personal cloud storage system.
This sounds very interested and the price seems fair-enough for the product.
My question is because of the moderately priced product what is the likelihood 
that the software being voiceover compatible?

MKV Conversion using VLC

I have an MKV vile that I would like to convert into mp4.
Is it possible to accomplish this using VLC?
I have tried converting files before, but to no avail.
Would anyone have any suggestions on how to convert MKV files using VLC, or 
another program?

If anyone uses the app, Bartender, what way has anyone found to rearrange the 
tabs in the menubar?
The program indicates pressing the CMD-click feature to accomplish this task 
directly from the menubar, but to no avail.

More Info, Item Option

Hello everyone,

When pressing CMD-I to activate the more info, feature I run into an odd 
issue.
When navigating to the more info disclosure option, I expand this element 
because I want to get more information about the item.
Sometimes the elements are read with voiceover, but in most cases the relevant 
elements are skipped-over and voiceover moves to the next item, which is the 
name and extension component of a particular file.
Has anyone encountered this problem? If so, what are some alternative solutions 
others have used to access the more info component of a file?
I am wanting this information because I want the source information about the 
file, so I can create a Hazel rule.

iMovie Voiceover Tutorials

Does anyone know of good voiceover tutorials that could help me use iMovie?
Basically, I would like to import a video file and select a certain section for 
instructional use i.e. Illustrating a particular concept. This would be either 
from a movie or TV program I've downloaded or general video file acquired 
elsewhere.

Scrivener Kork board and Synopsis Creation

Hello everyone,

For those who use Scrivener, is there a good way to how draft items appear in 
the cork board feature, so they can be moved?
With this, is there a good way to create personal synopsis text for the index 
cards,so they they appear on the cork board it will show the manually entered 
text?
I am glancing at the tutorial and from what I am gathering, most functions in 
large part must all be executed via the toolbar, which is no problem.
I like this program because it allows for the compartmentalizing of documents, 
while containing everything within one project.
Maybe if I had this word processor during my graduate work, efficiency during 
the creation of term papers and my thesis would have been less of a headache.

Sounds Folder Suggestions

Hello everyone,

I am attempting to place some .aiff sounds clips into my sound folder so they 
can be available to other programs for sound customization.
However, when going into the user library I am not able to find the sounds 
folder.
I start at the desktop, and press command-shift-G, and type /library.
This opens the library directory, but the sounds folder is not visible. Does 
anyone have any suggestions on how I can make this visible?

P.S. It does not appear in spotlight either. The only sounds folder I am able 
to locate is housed within the /library folder in the audio sub-folder, but 
this is not the correct location. I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.2.

Drag and Drop Problem.

Hello everyone,

I hope this message is finding everyone well.
I have tried several times to execute the drag and drop feature, but to no 
avail.
I have used VO-comma to select my items, then move to the application table I 
want to drop the items into.
Each time I either try to drop the items onto the table directly or interact 
with the table and dry to drop the items by using VO-period, I get the message 
that the item is no longer drag able.
I have also tried invoking the mouse click function, but this does not work 
either.
A caveat to all this is that each time I attempt to drag and drop a series of 
contiguous items into a different program's table, I must force finder to 
relaunch because the downloads folder becomes disabled from being able to close 
or select items.
This is somewhat frustrating because I do not want to have to select each item 
individually and both of the aforementioned features have worked well before.
I welcome any suggestions - thanks.
