Re: How to remove write-protection from my USB-stick or flash-drive, whatever they call them these days
Hi, I tried both to format and partition my flash-drive and cmd up with the error in both cases that it can't write to the last block of the drive. I wonder if it's corrupted or something; Darn, I was hoping I could fix it somehow. ah well, thanks anyhow; let me know if you have any more suggestions though. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. How to remove write-protection from my USB-stick or flash-drive, whatever they call them these days
Hi! I already tried formatting it; for some reason it won't work, and yes, I know it's a FaT32 format, because before this all happened, I was able to use the flash-drive on both my Mac and my windows computers. How to remove write-protection from my USB-stick or flash-drive, whatever they call them these days
Hi, all! I've got a 32 gigabyte flash-drive I'm tyring to use on my Mac, it's one of those Fat32 format ones, so I cna use it on my windows and on my Mac computers, but I keep getting an error that it's write protected, and that I should remove the write protection from teh flash-drive before I can use it again. I've googled it, and found oodles of stuff to do it on windows, but the only way I could find to do it wan't accessible with my screenreader. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to do it on my Mac? And no, I've heard that some flash-drives have a switch to protect and unprotect them; my flash-drive is not one of those. Thanks! You can email me offline or on Mac Visionarries, though emailing me personally will help more, otherwise I may not get your responses. God Bless!!! Totally Off-Topic Quesiton
Hi, all! I know this has nothing to do with the Mac at all, but I'm kind of desperate because I've got a problem with my PacMate Omni (I think it's a 6 or 6.1). When my braille display is connected to the PacMate, it just says pm display 40 but does not allow me to read in braille what's supposed to be on my screens, and eventually, it just falls asleep. (speaking of falling asleep, I'm wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to make the braille display not fall asleep.) It worked just fine until the day before yesterday when I disconnected the braille display while the PacMate was still on. Other than that the PacMate itself works fine, and I know the braille display works because for one thing when I turn the PacMate off, the dots all disappear as usual, and then when I turn it on the pm display 40 message comes back on, and for another, if I hook the braille display to my Mac, it works fine; anyhow, I actually have two braille displays, and they both do the same thing on the PacMate but both work on the Mac. I've tried a warm reset and a hard-reset, but it doesn't change. Oh, forgot to say it's one of the PacMates with a computer keyboard. Anyhow, I know this is totally off-topic, but Ive already asked a bunch of people and nobody can suggest anything helpful. I've read all the help information I can find, but can't find anything helpful there either. I'm going to Ontario on tour with my choir group the week after next, and I just put a downloadable Bible on my PacMate so I could take it along to read my Bible in braille rather than having to bring the braille books, but now the braille display doesn't work, and I'd like to get it fixed before we leave so I can still use it instead of having to bring a braille Bible along. Anyhow, if someone knows what to suggest or to do about this, I'd really appreciate it. You can email me off-topic if you want, or just send a reply to my message. My email is helena.torch.li...@gmail.com. Thanks a lot! God Bless!!! Can't get Pages update and need it to share my iCloud documents on my iPad with my Mac
Hi, all! I am having a problem with trying to get my pages updated. When I try to open something on my iCloud documents on my Mac that I put there from my iPad, it just says I need a newer version of pages to be able to open it. When I go to the app-store though, it says there are zero updates available. I even tried deleting Pages from my Mac, and seeing if it would let me install it again, and when I got to the app-store, it said update pages button, so I pressed it, but when I go back into pages, it's still the same old pages I had before I did that. Does anyone know why I can't get the new pages, and what I can do so I can open my shared documents on my iPad with my Mac? Thanks! God Bless!!! Accessible Video converters
Hi, all! I finally taught myself how to download torrents, and I got piles of movies downloading right now. I do have a question though: some of the movies won't play on iTunes, cause I guess it isn't the right format or something. I'm wondering if anyone has ideas about what video converters are accessible with VoiceOver, and preferably free so far as prices go, although if they're not too darned expensive, I can handle that as well, so that i can convert these movies into iTunes format so that I can watch them on iTunes, and also on my iPad or iPhone if I can make it work. If anyone has ideas, please let me know preferably offline because I'm busy doing homework and might not have time to look through all the Mac Visionaries lists to find any updates to this message. Mail not working anymore on the MacBook Pro
Hi, all1 Last time i said something about how my mail wasn't working anuymore on my Mac, and how it just kept saying mail closed unexpectedly and blah blah blah. Shawn replied to my message about that and told me to erase all my mail accounts and then put them back, and I did that, and now it works. So if anyone ever has this problem, that might help. thanks, shawn! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Mail not working on MacBook Pro anymore
Hi, all! For some reason I wanted to check my mail on my MacBook Pro today, and no matter what I do if I press any button to go down the list to start seeing what's in my inbox, a dialog box pops up and says Problem report for mail: mail has quit unexpectedly; click reopen to launch mail again; this report will be sent to apple automatically, and so on and so forth, and then you can either press ok or reopen default to quit and relaunch mail. I've restarted my Mac and gone through the process over and over but no matter what I do the result is the same. Does anybody know what the heck is going on here? So far as I know it worked until today. I can't remember the last time I tried it before today, but I remember checking my mail with no problems previously, and today is the first day this happened. There's also some garbage about about configuration settings or something in the detail thing, but I know darned well I've never had problems with it before, and now all of a sudden there's nothing I can do with my mail on my Mac. Thank goodness I've got my iPad, or I'd really be screwed. Can someone please help? God Bless!!! Some friends of mine are still able to use magnification and some people ask me for advice because supernova is crashy or jfw and magic are crashy on their systems. Are there people that can give an account how magnification works on the mac and if it is comparable what you can get on a windows pc with screenreading software? Thanks in advance, Greetings, Anouk, erik burggraaf e...@erik-burggraaf.com Feb 05 02:07PM -0500 Hi, Zoom doesn't have the huge feature set of zoomtext, but it does work very well. For best performance you need a newer mac with the best display possible, such as a macbook with retina display. Make sure accessibility shortcuts are turned on. Make sure smooth images is on. Make sure mouse tracking is set to move the window when the pointer reaches an edge. You can also download a third party app to customize the cursors and pointers on the mac so that you can have the red X or the yellow X or whatever is most visible for you. I have a sheet around here to do with best practices for magnification which I could send you if that will help. On the Mac there is no easy way to enlarge the menu or scrollbars. Icon text can be increased minimally. On the Mac, there seem to be two choices: 1. lower the resolution to magnify everything, or 2. use an on screen magnifier, and not be able to read menus without it. Many Mac programs have individual magnifiers for the text, though not the menu. On Windows, everything, including menus and scrollbars, can be magnified in the settings. Can't remember the name of the setting. As well as many programs that have individual magnifiers. Even so, I prefer the Mac, since I have to learn VoiceOver. Amazon Instant video
Hi all! I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about Amazon Instant Vidio. From what I've lookd up so far, it is a feature of Amazon Prime, but I can't find out how you actually start watching the instant videos, never mind purchasing or renting them. I looked for the Amazon Instant Video app for the iPad on iTunes, but it isn't available in canada. I also found something called How To Watch, but you can't do anything with it because as soon as you search for somehting on there, and click on the video results you get, the app just closes, so I think it's got a bug or something. It seems I'm finding oodles of information, but nothing that helps me start finding videos and watching them either online or through an app like it seems it's supposed to work. Can anyone help? Will the Videos even be accessible? That's the other thing.. and by the way, I did find the information about there being a thirty-day free trial for Amazon Prime, so they're not being sneaky about it; you just gotta read all the information and know where to look for it. Oh yes, just as a side point that is totally unrelated, does anyone have problem playing netflix on the iPad? No matter what I do, it just says there was an error while playing the video, and I asked Neflix people for help, and they all think it's my internet connection, but I know it worked at first, now I can't play netflix movies on my Mac or on my iPad. problems type2phone on mavericks with iphone 4 with ios7
Wow! You too? The thing is I can't even get my Type2phone thing to work at all. I can do as much as go home and lock my phone with it, and that's it, and I had this problem with the old OS already too for awhile; it worked great at first, but then it wouldn't work, and now mavericks for sure doesn't work with mine at least, except to lock or unlock the phone (press the powerButton), or the home button. Nothing else works, no typing, no moving around, nothing. What's up with that? I know I had the latest update too, so that's not the problem, at least not if it was doing this on Mountain Lion already. God Bless!!! MacTubes not letting me download videos from YouTube
Hi, all! I'm having a problem with MAcTubes. firstly, both the Quicktime and the Video player won't work to play videos. The Flash Player works, but when I close the video page, it gives me this weird dialog about this file is not allowed by embedded playing, and to open the URL browser thing, and when I click on that, it says it can't open it though. The second thing is that when I try to download a video from YouTube using MacTubes on my Mac, I get this dialog that just says the download cannot be started or something. What can I do about these dialogs so that they'll go away? God Bless!!! Hi! I usually save my attachments, and then I can open them whenever I want. Saving them works the same way it did before on Mountain Lion. I've never opened them in the email itself though. Logos Bible Program on iPad or Mac
The thing is, that I'm going up North in Manitoba to where the native reserves are in January, and I hear the cell phone service is horrible out there, which right now is my only source of internet for either the phone or Mac. This means I will need a portable device so that I can store any Logos books or programs I buy right on the device. It will need to work so that I can access any material I will need (especially actualy being able to read Bible passages) on the device without having to go online. This trip up north is a Missions Exposure trip I will be taking with the second year class in our Bible College, so it will be important to have my Bible with me, and that it will be accessible in one form or another. I could bring my audio Cd's, but it takes forever to be able to access certain passages because the CD's don't read the verses in teh chapters, but only the chapters, so that if I want to find John 3:16 for example, I've got to read all of John chapter 3, and I won't actually know where verse sixteen even starts, because the cD won't tell me that. Besides, my Daisy Player's baterry only lasts for two to three hours, so this won't really work at all. It sounds to me like then the most ideal option would be to get an iad, and get Logos put on it, and purchase soem books or at least for now the Bible so that I can read my bible on the Missions' trip. This is why I'm asking if someone has an iPad they don't want or are willing to sell. If you, or if you know someone, who wants to sell an iPad, please email me privately, so that we can work out the arrangements. If I am going to get an iPad, I prefer a full-sized iPad, because it will have a bigger screen and will allow me to have more room to access stuff on it. Thanks! God Bless!!! Logos progrm on Mac or iPad
Hi, all! Does anyone know if the logos bible program is accessible with VoiceOver either on the Mac or the iPad? I could use this program, or at least something like it for Bible-studies and such things, cause I'm going to a Bible college. I have three bible programs on my computer, and none of them work; the accordance program is completely inaccessible; you can do everything with it except get VoiceOver to read the Bible (Sheesh, what else is a Bible program for if you can't actually read the Bible on the darned thing), and my River Bible program doesn't work at all, and neither does MacSword, at least not with Mavericks. (It just barely worked the last time, never mind now; it won't even launch, and with the river Bible, it just keeps crashing and saying that there's a problem report). I really need something that'll work soon, so if someone can tell me what to do, that'l be awesome. I'm leaving for a Mission Exposure trip in January, and if my computer won't work, I pretty much won't be able to take my Bible with me, except the ones on my iPhone, but the iPhone ones go crazy after awhile when I have no service; either that or they work so slowly it takes forever to find one passage. Does anyone have an iPad they'd like to get rid of? I'd want it to be in decent shape obviously, but I'd be willing to pay a decent price for it, and if all the cases and what-not could come with it too, that'd be all the more awesome, and my professor promised to bring his iPad to school and he has logos on it, so hopefully we'll be able to find out if it works with VoiceOver, which I don't think it did on my phone. Sorry, but I'm kind of desperate, cause my braille Bible's huge, and you'd pretty much need a van or a decent sized car to carry it alone, never mind me and my other stuff and the rest of our group, so I can't take it along on the mission exposure trip. Thanks! God Bless!!! Helena May The Lord Bless you and keep you; May his face radiate with joy because of you' May He be gracious to you, show you His favour, and give you His peace. Reading iBooks on Mac with Mavericks
I've found that if you have your trackpad turned on, and you have it set up so that it works with voiceover instead of having it like a normal mouse, if you swipe down on the track pad with two fingers, it'll read one whole chapter of an ibook at a time. Then to go to the next chapter, you press Command-Shift-Right arrow. Also, you can go Vo-M for menu, and then right arow to the go menu, and then arrow down until you hear go to next chapter and enter on it, and it'll do it too. As far as if you only want to read a single page at a time, you would access it just like you do with pages by interacting with the scroll area, and then it'll say epub.1 or something, and each epub thing like that, I think is another page, so then you just interact with those, and you can then swipe down with two fingers with them and get VoiceOver to read the whole thing or VO-right arrow so it reads line by line I think. I've also found out that let's say you're on Skype, but you want to read a book while you're waiting to receive a message from someone, you can press control to pause VoiceOver from reading the ibook, then switch to your Skype app, or whatever, to do whateveryou want, and then go back to the ibooks app and press control and it'll continue reading to teh end of that page. Then you put two fingers at teh top of your trackpad and swipe down, and it'll continue reading. I don't know if there's a say all or read-to-the-bottom-of-the-document command for VoiceOver using the keyboard, so I don't know how this would work with iMacs, or Macs that don't have a trackPad. I don't know if you could use a normal mouse for these things. Hope this helps! As for mail and attachments, and saving attachments in emails, I don't know how to do that either, so if someone could let me know, that would be great, cause I do this a lot since I'm in school, so I can get people to send me stuff to braille out and stuff like that, so if osmeone could let me know, that would be great. You can even jsut email me, and then that way I don't have to scroll through the entire Mac Visionarries email to find out jsut taht one thing. THanks! God Bless!!! Prospective subscribers not allowed to join this group
Hi! I think I've joined other google groups before, that I later decided to unsubscribe from, and I don't think I had to have a google account to do this. I think when I subscribed, it just told me an address where I was supposed to send an email to with the subject of subscribe me or something, and it worked. That group also had a moderator though, so I'm assuming this one does too, the moderator being the person who actually started the group. Would anyone potentially wanting to subscribe not just be able to find out who that is, email the person, and say I want to subscribe but I can't because of such and such an error I get, and then ask the moderator to subscribe them? Does this mean that iBooks for Mac will come with Mavericks, and that we will be able to read iBooks on our Macs today too? Or do we need to get iBooks for Mac from the app-store too? Two Questions
Hi all! Two questions: 1. Type To Phone no longer works for my iPhone. I can get the functions to work, so that I can lock the phone or press the home button, but I can't move or type. As far as I know, I have the latest update, but the app is pretty much useless to me in this state. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and is there anything that can be done about it? 2. I have one song in my phone that refuses to delete. I tried subscribing to iTunes Match, and then removing all my songs from iCloud, and most of them are gone, but the one song just won't delete itself. I have this song in a play list, but I went to Get Info, and to options and made the media kind into an audio book, because it's actually a story not a song, so if anything, it should appear in my audiobooks, not in my songs.. It's worked for everything else, but this one song just won't go away. I've even tried taking all my music off my phone, but it still won't disappear. If I sync my phone with my iTunes library, the song does not appear in my computer, and subscribing to iTunes MAtch doesn't work, because the song doesn't appear in my iTunes match lists either. It's almost like it's stuck somewhere in SiberSpace and I can't get it out, or off my phone either, and it's really annoying. Can someone help/ God Bless!!! Helena May The Lord Bless you and keep you; May his face radiate with joy because of you' May He be gracious to you, show you His favour, and give you His peace. (Numbers 6;24) In Jesus' Name. Question about Mail on iPhone
Hi, all! I have an email on my iPhone, that just won't leave my inbox. I can try deleting it, or moving it to the trash, and it sounds like it's doing it, but then when I go back into my inbox, it's still there. Does anyone else have problems like this? This is with a live.ca account, (or some would call it hotmail, i guess, although it's now outlook.com instead of hotmail, but you can still use your hotmail account to access it). Anyhow, can anyone suggest anything I can do about this? I haven't had that with any other emails that i can think of from this hotmail or live.ca account, or whatever it's called.. I don't know why it's just this one email that won't leave my inbox on my phone. If someone could let me know, that would be great. God bless!!! Copy music to cd
I wouldn't know. I just leave it the way it is. The one time I copied music to a cd for a friend, we listened to it on his stereo-system, and it played fine, so that's all that matters to me. Copy music to cD
Ther are several ways to do this. The one way is like you said, to import your Cd to iTunes, and then go to the apple menu, by pressing BOM, right arrowing to file, and down rrowing till you hear New playlist, and entering on that, and calling it whatever the cD is called. Then you simply find the songs in your music, and copy it to the clipboard and pasting it in the Playlist. If that doesn't work, you could go to the plyist tab on your iTunes, (it'll say songs radio-button, albums, radio-button and so on, and you just go to your Music pop-up button, and either tab or VO-right arow until you hear playlists radio-button), and then you will find a table-list beside it with your playlists in there. Then you'd go in there and select the playlist you made for your cD, and then you'd get out of that table and VO-right arrow or tab until you hear add button, and VO-Space on that. Then you go back to your music list, and find your songs, and coy them to the clipboard, and then move back right till you here something like zero items or something, and paste the song right there. (Command C for copy and Command V for paste). Then you go back to your music and do the same for the next song, till all the songs are there. To make sure they're all there, you can go to the right of that add button till it says Playlist table, and Wah-Lah, there your songs will be. Another simpler way, is to put your music cd into your CD-drive, and something will appear in your finder besides Mackintosh Hd or whatever else you've got in your finder, and you open that, and when you hear what sounds to be your songs, you just xelect them all and put them into your documents or somewhere you know they will be. Then you take the CD back out, and put in a blank CD, and simply copy and paste or move that folder you just copied your music into, onto the thing that appears in your finder where your blank cd is; whatever it's called, it'll look like a folder with nothing in it. As long as the blank CD is made for music then, and you're copying music onto it, you shouldn't have any problems with playing it on a sterio or something else. There. sorry for the long explanations, but I hope this helps. God bless!!! Helena -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Type to Phone with IoS7.0.2
Hi, all! I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems with Type2Phone working with the iPhone with the new update. I'm wondering if it's bugged or if it isn't compatible with this version of IoS. I've got IOS7.0.2. I already tried forgetting the BlueTooth and repairing it again, but it still doesn't move. I can press the F4 on the Mac to go home, and I might be able to press the F3 to lock the iPhone, but nothing else works. I can't type, or move around, or anything else. Is anyone else noticing this? Also, is there anything I can do to fix it? God Bless!!! Helena -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Totally off topic
Hi, all! This is totally off the topic and has nothing to do with Macs or iPhones and stuff, but I figure if you use VoiceOver, you're probably visually impaired like me, or know someone who is, and I'm not sure who else to ask about this, but I'm wondering if any of you know anything about twon-vision books. I'm looking to buy a set of them that have Bible stories for children, preferrably with tactile pictures as well so that we can all enjoy them, or at lease ones that describe the pictures in braille, if not tactile ones. Some Docter Sus books would be nice too. I'm going on a Mission Exposure trip way up north in January so I'm looking for books I can take along to read to the kids and in that way minister to tehm about the love of Jesus. I'm also wondering about some good deals on boardgames, and stuff like checkers and chess, maybe soem card games and stuff too. If anyone has ideas, or can recommend good deals, that would be reat. I'd prefer to buy the stuff so I don't have to borrow it from somewhere and then have it get wrecked up there, and then have to pay back whoever I borrowed it from. Oh yes, does anyone also have any good recommendations for getting a goalball? I know this is totally off topic, but I'm not sure who else to ask, and I'm a colege student, so buying the stuff without having to pay an arm and a le to get it would be great. Thanks, gguys! Have you tried going to the sounds' preferences on your Mac? I'm assuming that this is happening to your Mac. If it is, if you go to sounds, and then select the output tab, VO-space or tab to the table, you may be able to select whether you want output sounds to go to your speakers or to the headset. If that still doesn't work, try shutting off the machine, and restarting it. If you can't shut it down because of no voice, (I know this is not the greatest for a computer), hold the power down until you hear the computer shutting off, and then wait for a few seconds, and restart the computer like you normally do. That usually works for me. God bless!!! Helena -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Questions about garage-Band
Hi all! I'm wondering if there's a good app something like Garage-band that is more accessible. I don't have a clue what I'm doing, but I would like to learn about apps like this, and the things you can do with them. I'm also wondering if I can get hold of tutorials or something, some information about how to use these apps, so I can learn how to do it, and yet at the same time, not too technical, or something that would make my brain explode or give me a headache. I'm looking for some good information but I'm not too ready to start busting too many neurons yet cause I'm good at learning, but not if it's too technical language unless they actually explain what the stuff means then. Thanks! God bless!!! Helena P.S. I know it has to do with making tracks and recording stuff, and I'm in a small choir thing, there's only a few people, but we're trying to perform songs that sound good but we don't have instruments except a few guitars, and stuff like that, but no drums except one of those Jim-Bae's (or at least someone is learning how to play one), andI know people use stuff like garageBand to make their own tracks and loops and stuff, so that's why Im asking this. Maybe I need something that'll work for dummy's, but I thought I should ask, since it sounds like a cool idea, and so far as i know, I'm the only one in the group who's got a Mac, so if anything comes of it, I'l need to learn fast. iTunes Match questions
Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong, but one thing i found when I signed up for iTunes match was that it only downloaded my music library, and no audiobooks or movies, or anything else i might have in my iTunes library, and since at the time I listened more to audiobooks than music, I found it pretty useless. I thought when I read the information, it was supposed to download my entire iTunes library, and I spent a pile of money I shouldn't have spent on getting the largest amount I could with iClout so that my stuff would all fit, and then I could only put my music on there, but nothing else. I was pretty frustrated with it. I've found that the best way to keep my music safe has been for me to set iTunes up so that it views a table-list of all my songs, select the whole lot of them, and copy/paste them into a folder on an external hard-drive. I did the same with my movies and books, and anything else I cared about losing or might want to have on both my computers. For me, that's as good as iTunes Match, but I don't have to pay any money except to initially buy the external hard-drive, and now I have iTunes on both my Mac and on my PC, and both my computers are authorized with my iTunes account so that no matter where i purchase anything new, it'll automatically appear on all my devices. It takes time to set up, but at least I have all my music (And all my audiobooks) on all my devices. God Bless!!! Reading Text Documents
Hi all! I've got a text document I'm supposed to read for class at my Bible college, but VoiceOver won't read it, and just says return and bottom of document because the professor who put the text online for me do download made a photo copy of the book he wanted us to read, so now the text looks like a picture of the text, rather than the normal text itself, like when you scan it into the computer or type it out. The document is there on teh scren, and it looks clear enough, but VoiceOver won't read it. Does anyone have ideas what I can do so VoiceOver will read the text to me/ Is there an app I can get that'll read it? Thanks! God Bless!!! Text documents on Mac
Is this abbey Fine Reader on the Mac app-store? Also, is there a good scanning app at a reasonable price that will work to scan documents on the Mac? This is rather off-topic, but I'm also wondering if it is possible to use the Juliet Pro 60 embosser on the Mac. I'm switching more and more to my Mac, since my windows computer is driving me insane, and I think it's pretty much junk. Right now it sits in my dorm room and gets used as a radio for iTunes music, a charger for my iPhone and bluetooth headset because I don't have enough plug-in outlets in my room otherwise, to scan and braille because at this time I can't do those things on the Mac. If I can save up enough money I want to buy an iMac, and then leave this old Windows junk at home, so at least I have back-up if something goes screwy or something. Sorry for those of you who still like windows; I'm not dissing them; I just think my computer's one of those old referbished ones the government bought me, and tried to put Windows seven on it, and now it does screwy things like programs stop responding, and then I have to restart the computer completely because the task manager isn't accessible with screenreaders, and it drives me nuts. iBooks on Mac
Thanks for the help! I will wait for iBooks to come to the Mac. As for the VoiceOver Question, I just wondered if I was the only one with that problem. I hardly ever had it with IOS6, so i'm guessing it's the IOS7 that's doing it. I only have an iPhone 4, so maybe that's a part of the problem too. For the most part, it's ok; just gotta be a bit slower and learn to have patience. Thanks lot, guys! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. noise-cancelling headphones
Hi, all! To whoever it was who asked about headphones, I found a pair from Logetech, called the Logetech H800 headset. It has a microphone as well as the headphones. It can be used both as a bluetooth, and also has a dongle support, which means you plug this tiny receiver thing into your USb, and you can use it wirelessly on your computer. It works on PC's, Macs, and you can also use it on your iphone. There is a control switch so that you can switch between bluetooth on the headset, or dongle support. For me, this means I can use the bluetooth on my iPhone, and have the dongle plugged into my Mac, so that if for example, I am working from my computer and my phone rings, I can switch to the bluetooth from my headset, and answer the phone from my headset, all without even touching my phone. It has big padded speakers, sort of like earmuffs, and I use it in the Girls dorm at college all the time, and I can hear my Voiceover or whatever i'm listening too, even while the girls are running around in the halls screaming at the top of their lungs. If that doesn't cancel out noise, I don't know what does. I paid around $110 for the set, and it works great. I haven't had any problems with it, and I've had it for almost a year now. You could probably google Logetech, and order the set right off their site, or you could do like I did, go to a local entertainment store, (where you get sterios, Tv's, entertainment units, and all those cool gadgets), and they looked it up and ordered it in for me. If you have a local radio shack or a Source store around you, or any store where you can get electronics and things, they'll probably do it, if they don't have the set in stock. All I know, is that the set was every bit worth the money I paid for it. I can even control things like playing and pausing music or moving to the next song, all from the headset, talk on Skype, whatever. It works great. Try it, and I bet you'll love it too. God Bless!!! Hi all! I'm wondering how to set up facebook with Adium and/or the messag Mac app. I looked at the internet site I found and it said i had to go to my profile and change something in my settings, and I have no clue how to do that. Can someone give me a step-by-step idea of what I'm supposed to do? I basically need to be walked through the whole thing. I'm new at facebook, and I tried Trillian, but it doesn't work well and the growl app crashes, and everyone always appears offline, so I can't actually chat with anybody. Thanks1 God Bless1!!
